      Update: First Division, Gold medal
I posted this originally my junior year of high school. Kind of cool to find old comments you made and forgot about a while ago lol.
I've since taken another solo (Mozart 2 rondo allegeo) to state and got a 1 on it as well, and now I start my studies in university as a music Ed major. Scott's videos have helped and motivated me all this time, and I hope they will continue to do so.
This is still one of my favorites to play, even though I can't play it by memory as well as I used to. I probably won't get to his skill level, but while I still try, I can always pull up youtube to enjoy his sound (and memes).
I know this is kind of long and definitely a TLDR kind of comment, but I see no harm in it since it probably won't be read being so obscure. That's okay. Maybe I'll forget about this comment and one day find it like a sort of time capsule. It's always nice to find a reminder of what you were like before. Sometimes, you just gotta take the time and leave some more behind to forget again. I'm glad to be here. I hope I'll be there in my right mind to find this someday again.

  • @Quickness_Fitness

very clean, compact tone and perfect technique. tone feels very small, like it lacks the richness to fill the hall. Downside of a triple: loses resonance

I don’t think that’s a fair assessment. It’s on UA-cam after all. You are not hearing optimal high fidelity. I assume you are listening on a computer, not a stereo system.

    • @avrumgolub2735

Scott’s approach is more soloistic than David’s. Perhaps it is because David’s career has targeted orchestras. Also, Scott studied with Bill Purvis who comes from a more varied experience and who succeeded John Barrows in the New York Woodwind Quintet.
