I care less about the network than I care about the announcers. It gets old to listen to arrogant ESPN/ABC announcers that mangle basic facts about Iowa State. Low-rent FS1 and ESPN2 announcers with gravelly annoying voices. If a network can have announcers that actually know the teams they are announcing, I'll be happy.

Historically this is in large part why the G5 vs P5 narrative never made any sense. For like 60 years UH DESTROYED all the current teams int he B12 that were from the SWC. Pre Synder era KSU was ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Pre-Gundy OSU was not great to trash. CU was good in the 90s and the 70s - same with KU - other than that - not great.
Back in the 80s when it was Turner Broadcasting they were big into college football watched many games on their network. They were showing college football when ESPN was showing fishing shows and local rodeo events lol!
I think this is overstated. 13 football games and 15 basketball games a year moving from ESPN+ to TNT … all within those company’s larger sports agreements. It’s just money moving around, nothing else … except that’s 28 games that I can choose to watch without another subscription, so good for me!

The Big 12 Football and basket ball games that are part of the deal were scheduled to be streaming only on ESPN+. so ESPN is not losing much inventory. They are also gaining by getting the INSIDE THE NBA series.

Great news! I am still boycottimg ESPN+, so now I can watch more. But what we really need is for the Big 12 to have their own streaming platform on which all games of all sports all year long will play, along with replays, sports shows and anything else schools want to broadcast. Doesn't mean the TV channels cannot also broadcast games, but the increase in exposure for all teams and all sports will create more fans willing to spend more money, a much more sustainable business model than restricting which games can be watched hoping excluisivity and scarcity will make people pay more. I think most of us would pay $250/year for a service that covers it all. And knowing that that money is going directly to support my conference and my team, and not Disney or anyone else, that's a no brainer for me.
$250/year, or $35/month. Keep in mind there are no sports for two to three months in the summer, so your yearly rate is really only covering 9-10 months, at most, of live matches.
What they need more is their own network or a partnership with a streaming service. Turner channels can only broadcast so many games. I've said this now for a while that within 5 years, Turner channels will broadcast Big 12 games and the Big 12 basketball tourney. But none of this will matter if they don't win on the field. It seems clear to me that the money is concentrated in the SEC, for ESPN anyway, and they are not very interested in messing with these "lower" conferences. Once the ACC media rights fiasco is resolved, then we will see the handful of desired programs split between FOX and ESPN. Everyone else will likely need to adjust, maybe join together and form a new league using the Big 12 and ACC orphans. As for boycotting ESPN, don't bother, they appear to be seeing themselves out. I am a Texas fan, however I still have mad love for the Big 12 . I'm not happy that they are moving you guys to TNT, that isn't something that should be celebrated. I watch the Longhorns. OU vs TX A&M is also a must watch, maybe LSU vs the Aggies but that’s it for the SEC.

Money is what makes the CFB world go round. And the more money a program can make, the more they can pay 4 and 5 star 🌟 prospects NIL deals. If this deal can pay each current big 12 program what the SEC and B1G teams are getting paid by Fox and Disney, then this is a great move. And if that’s the case, then the big 12 could now have a chance to attract FSU Clemson, Miami, and UNC seriously.

East:
BYU, KU, K St, OK St, IA St, WVU, Cinci, UCF
West is to loaded
BYU is 60 miles south of the Utah, and you think it's fair to send the Y clear across the country to play WV, Cincinnati, UCF, and ISU. Colorado is farther east than the Y. No, the Y would be in the West. Send one of your Texas teams east.
