Recap of 2023 with commentary (in the video description)

Dear Subscribers, dear viewers, dear friends,
We are at the end of 2023, and as it is customary at this time, there is time for a review for the year.
If you are around for some time, you have surely noticed that the frequency of the video releases was much lower, especially in the second half of the year. There were two simple reasons for this:
1. I had too many tabs open , both literally and figuratively, with many parallel projects, promises, endeavours and plans
2. There was simply not enough planning involved to deliver videos with consistent frequency AND quality
As for the first point, this is unlikely to change in 2024. Fortunately, there is no shortage of interesting, and I hope also useful work to be done. My activities within the #GenomicsBootCamp are, as always, in addition to my regular work. So a careful triple balance of work, life and GBC will be necessary to improve on the 2023 situation.
The second point is in my opinion even more crucial. In the previous years there was a clear plan of publishing the tutorial series on the practical use of genomics data, and as a follow up the theory background for the same (at least for the selected topics). This year there was no such "grand scheme" implemented, which resulted often to last minute decisions what to do for the week, followed up by a hasty recording and editing process. While there were no complaints from the viewers side, I still see that the quality for several of these videos could be better. My hope is that with careful planning both the frequency and consistency will improve. Several concepts are lined up, and all that's left is to bring them to life.
