Getting a game over on the last level was soul destroying when it's such a meticulous pain just to get to it :D But I kind of preferred the games to be with a learning curve as I'd get 1 cartridge every 1-2 months... (eg. Psy Buster, Mission Impossible, Doraemon etc.) I was more disappointed with games that I could finish in one sitting/day as I'd have nothing to play for a month after lol...

I can think of a few modern games with music as catchy as classics: FTL, Stardew Valley, Sonic Mania, RimWorld, and Terraria. Most of those games were heavily influenced by chip-tunes and Sonic Mania was mostly remixes of the classic Sonic music

The game was part based on the comics and part on the TMMT toyline which is how the turtles got the colored eye masks. Think of it as a different adaptation like the movies where. When the game was developed the cartoon still wasn't a thing and it even shows with the cover of the game being an actual comic book cover.

Now, don't get me wrong, as any good 80's/90's kid, I love the TMNT theme. It is dope. But this theme... it just has something. Maybe that rift. I don't know. But this is without a doubt, one of the best damn NES themes, together with 'Streets of Desolation' and 'Office Theme' from Sunsoft's 'Batman' and 'Gremlins 2: New Batch', as well as Mega Man 3's intro and Castlevania's 'Vampire Hunter'.
It definitely is! He not only had the longest reach of all the turtles with his Bo staff, but it also dealt the most damage as well. The only drawback was that it's a tad slower than the other weapons, but that was never really an issue--at least not for me anyway. 😌😎
water level was easy. it's the level where you can drive the pizza wagon that stopped me. believe it or not, there were brave boys and girls (mostly boys) who could advance that level and beyond ... to the very end. Really every company and platoon group should have one of these valiant souls with them at all times. Not quite Battletoads level of absurd challenge. But certainly challenging. Games like this and Zelda 2 may help us when the AI rises.

The arcade TMNT game from 1989 which was developed at the same time had an unused theme which was the original title screen theme before the got the rights for the original TMNT show intro. I think this is the same reason why this game has a different theme rather than the one from the show.

I actually didn't care to play it, since it was hard as hell and at the time I didn't think it was as much fun as the 2nd one. It's dynamic, instead of the TMNT theme song we all know from the TV series, this was unique. The developers knew what they were doing.

Cause it had enemy we haven't seen on the TV Shows. Cause "Tmnt 2 Arcade edition/Tmnt Manhattan Project" had the same repeating enemies (in my point of view). But this 🎮 just took it too a whole New Level of all Levels. Hands down, The best game ever.
They probably didn't have the rights to the actual song but the composer was cheeky enough to add the "heros in a half shell" notes, something my 7 year old self picked up on but didn't really appreciate like I do today. Hats off to the Konami composer who slipped that in

For whatever reason, i usually asociate this theme with the mirage itteration of tmnt. Probably cause the cover art for this game is just the 4th mirage comic cover. And given, the game's design itself is a mixture of 87 and mirage (pupiless turtles and brownish red shredder, but presence of toon exclusives like bebop and rocksteady and the technodrome).
This game was being developed before the cartoon actually aired and the developers took broad guesses to what the world would be like including this theme song. They had the logo, the toy line to to look at, and basic knowledge that they lived in the sewers of New York. All things considered, not a bad job.
