"Bredals Näckapolska" a slängpolska after Anders Bredal (1801-1871) from Småland. I have it after one of my maestros, Bengt Löfberg. Originally played in A on the fiddle (tuned AEAE from bottom to top) but here I play it in D because it fits (the open strings) better on my nyckelharpa (I use the tuning DGDA from bottom to top). Tunes that refer to Näcken (the water sprite) were considered magical and slightly dangerous because, when they were performed, both fiddler and dancers could become bewitched and no one could stop dancing until the strings were cut off.
Благодарю сердечно за прекрасную музыку!🌹

Svårt att hålla foten still. Snyggt framfört och det svänger.
A Gurdy without the Hurdy?
How can this be?

This sounds all too similar to that Irish wedding song that went viral! The rattlin bog?
