No need for completly "new" character, just add his variation called "fire god" and it have all his altered moves.

He's called Fire God Lui Kang, because he became a God, and his abilities center around fire. He gained the lightning as a result of Raiden giving him his Godly essence, but the lightning doesn't originate from Lui Kang, as the fire does. Therefore, it's only "Fire" God Lui Kang.

He has a Fire god Liu kang costume in the game but the mod gives him some really cool new abilities. I hope he becomes playable

You know how Shang Tsung has a three slot ability called Shapeshifters Training that adds 4 moves that you could equip individually. These include Shake, slide, super kick and Force Lift. I really anted that for Lui Kang when you get the official Fire God skin, the one used in the story mode, you unlock a 3 slot ability that adds the lightning to his moves.
I fought a Liu Kang main and the player's Variation name was called "What r u Liu Kang at"?

Well if you do the character towers the ones you summon, you can get the jinsei augment it can become really easy then for tower 28 and 30 just need a light stone with health items and armor

Also as another effect, bicycle kicks does more damage and has fire hitting the opponent (2:44) rather than before it was just physical kicks.
It does fire damage when you use Liu Kang's enhancing ability that amplifies his attacks. For the record, since your comment was 3 years old. You can pick a skill where you activate the bonus damage for limited time, it makes you look like in this video where your body is engulfed slightly in flames, it deals additional damage as well as it has the flame damage visually visible on the enemy with special moves you do.

Like when you pick Liu Kang, you have the option to pick Liu Kang or Fire God Liu Kang..
That way he doesn't take up a roster slot. But I definitely want Fire God Liu Kang and Kronika in the roster of MK11.

In the Story mode Liu Kang introduces himself as God of Fire AND Thunder

I was somehow lucky enough to verse a Fire God Lui Kang in towers of time before, it was a really rare thing for me to witness, this was a long time ago too.

I thought the game glitched after Liu Kang lost! It was so epic when Liu can use both ways with his Revenant form! It kind of reminded me of the infamous NES game, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which I always thought was Fire God Liu Kang; when Jekyll dies, he turns to Hyde, but he doesn't get too far. But this was such an awesome mod!

Fire god liu Kang should have been a playable character from the very beginning or least a variation there is no reason for them not to add him in.
His model is in the game his move set is in the game you play him twice in the story mode for god sake what reason is there for him not being playable out of story.
