I used to have locs. I cut them a year ago but I noticed that our hair grows toward the sun unlike others. I think our hair is spiritual as a whole and that’s why it’s so important we take care of it and also the reason why most of our styles are designed to take our hair out whether that be perms, Tight braids, Men getting too many fades and line ups over the years. Etc

My loc journey is in lockstep with my life journey. I and my locs are one type stuff. They really do accurately represent who I am and I love that constant, present, living reminder on top of my head. It continues to grow in its own way, me too. So I don't think that having locs will make you more spiritual but if you are a seeker, the locs have a lot they can show you. Thanks for the work you put in on these videos.

You inspired me to embark on a semi freeform journey for various reasons. - I want to detach from feeling like I look most beautiful only after a retwist
-I want to encourage my hair to be thicker and fuller, I want to keep my hands out of my hair more. - I want to challenge myself to not care about the opinions of anyone else besides myself when it comes to the appearance of my locs. I believe that. I just start growing dreads by default. I use to keep a clean cut. I just went week after week without getting a cut and BOOM my hair was long enough to twist. Now I'm 5 months twisted and it definitely became spiritual. I am extremely happy now
