- If a Glock 19 size "Compact" pistol is perfect for your need but you don't want or cannot get a G19, what are your options? Watch and see! We included as many as we had access to show, and tried to make them as similar in size as possible. No Sig P365 XL or Springfield Hellcat Pro, because they are thinner than someone may want if cross shopping from the Glock 19 Gen 5 or Gen 4 etc. And the Beretta APX A1 is larger than a G19. Any others, we probably don't have an example that we coiuld have shown. Or, maybe we just forgot, LOL!

No Canik love in this video?!? I would compare Canik's trigger to Walther's. It may not be better but it is a close second!
I’ve got to support the M&P. Once smith introduced it my Glock 19 went bye bye. The metal insert in the frame, the trigger, the grip texture, the adaptability, the reliability and the reputation are all on par if not better than the Glock. 8 years of under cover duty is my testimonial to this platform.
American made and lifetime warranty at a lower price too. It's hard to beat that.
When, for the same cost as a Glock 19, you can have the M&P 2.0 Compact with an Apex flat/forward trigger kit installed... the words "Glock Killer" do come to mind.
With the M&P you own the same thing as a G-19 AND G-45 because of the sleeves that come with the pistol for use with 17 round mags. You get much better ergos and grip texture as well. The palm-swell/back-straps provided are super easy to change and allow you to fit the pistol to your hand. A reinforced frame, larger slide rails in the frame, and metal sights are also pluses.
Hell, I would take ANY of the alternatives in this video over a Glock 19 and as proof, I own a P-320 Compact and an M&P 2.0 Compact but no Glocks.
@@JacksonWalter735 Smith & Wesson supports and funds the Clinton's. If you look at their website at careers they have woke policies that I personally don't agree with. From what I've been told most of their firearms were assembled by day labor temp agencies instead of proper tenured employees. After looking into Smith & Wesson more it ruined Smith & Wesson for me. Kinda sad as I own and enjoy a few Smith & Wesson firearms. Maybe their policies will change with the headquarters move to Tennessee but the whole supporting Clinton and Democratic Party thing really puts a damper on me wanting to buy anything else from them.
Maybe politics shouldn't sway my purchases but I would be lying if I said they don't. Just my thoughts and I'm not taking away the fact they do make some fantastic firearms for the most part.

If I couldn’t find a Glock 19, I’d search harder. Nothing else compares to its reliability and ease of finding factory magazines, lights and holsters for it. BOOM!

Forgot a few , He;;cat Pro, P365 X Macro both way better, and the Canik TP9SF Elite, and Canik TP9 Elite Combat, have way better Triggers and Sights
I like the Shadow Systems MR 920, a lot.
If not for the price bump, the Shadow Systems is the best “Glock” made. Fantastic firearms!!

A vast majority of the "alternative" guns on this list are far superior in my opinion. But for me the P-10C is at the top of the list.
Gen 3s are more available then gen 4s. Glock still makes the gen 3 to appease the California roster.

Great list…I also think a Steyr M9 is an excellent choice (with the exception of aftermarket support). A Canik would also be an excellent choice.

VP9 does have available 20 round mags. They ship with the Match version. If you don’t mind aftermarket extensions, HK Parts offers a 30 rotund mag.
Yeah... they have 21, 30 and 40rd magazines for the P320 now too. (OEM and aftermarket).
I know not everyone can do what I've done. I bought a glock 19 mos, built a 17 size gun. Bought a hellcat and a hellcat pro. Have had my PPQ for years and plan to buy a PDP F as soon as they are available again.
I bought the glock basically because, it's the best selling gun in the United States. So if the shtf, chances are, some home or car you come across, may just have glock parts somewhere in it. Mags, and other parts that wear out eventually, are great to have on hand.
I got my Glocks because of that reason.

The CZ P-10c is my favorite of the group!
Ever try the Agency Arms P320 trigger? It has the dongle and is a very comfortable trigger. (Much better than the OEM triggers in my opinion). It's a "flat" trigger, but it's not really flat. It's more like a straight trigger than a "flat" trigger, as it does not have a wide face, but you can actually wrap your finger around is comfortable if you choose. The best trigger upgrade I've seen so far.
If I couldn't find a new Glock 19 my second choice is a used Glock 19. Interesting comparisons, thanks.

Glad the Masada made the list. It’s a great gun,I really like mine and 100% reliable and a very good trigger.
Definitely an underrated gun. Though not underrated by those who own them, I think they're just lesser known. Everyone knows about Glock and imo (as much as I love Glocks), I think they're the most overrated gun (even if they are excellent guns).
Very good comparison. I was hoping u'd have a Stoeger STR-9 to compare, it's a great G19 alternative.
M&P9c is really close to the Glock in size with a bit shorter grip and a couple less rds. I agree it's heavier though for sure! I carry an x macro currently I got 17+1 in a single stack.

Springfield makes the 35 round mags for the XDM, I have 2 of them.
As usual another great video. I’m not a Glock fan or a hater just never owned one. Not a fan of the grip angle or the size of the grip but it’s hard to argue with their track record. Also love that you didn’t use the “Glock killer” phrase. The Glock alternatives in my collection are the PPQ, PDP, p320,VP9b, and 509midsize. So obviously I’m not missing the Glock…

Any gun other then a glock will always be an “alternative”
Biggest issue with buy something besides a Glock is the magazine prices and aftermarket parts. I’ll keep my Glocks, everything else is an imitation
I’m kinda opposite, if I couldn’t have my PDP, I’d carry my Glock 19! Good comparison vid though. And for those that haven’t shot a PDP, I can’t recommend it enough!
a gun you didn’t talk about in this video is the beretta apx centurion, i love that pistol (for me) it has become my go to edc…
The APX Centurion is so nice (especially once you consider the price). I'm really looking forward to the A1 variant in the future. I would love all the new features from the A1 full size on the Centurion size.
Plus you can get different frames for it, very similar to the P320

Love my P320 subcompact after I had Sig do the trigger fix
At the very beginning, Sig offered a trigger with a dingus, just like the glock. I've seen it in their exploded blueprints-- but for some reason, they discontinued it almost immediately; not sure why; Maybe there was a patent issue. I know it wasn't required on the military pistols, because they have a thumb safety.

M&P all the way. With the new stock M2.0 Optics Ready for cheaper than a Glock 19 MOS, M&P has stock metal suppressor height sights, upgraded trigger and trigger shoe, and the best stippling out there from the factory, metal mags, more ergonomic grip angle, just about the same, aftermarket support, USA made, awesome forward slide serrations, etc this is crazy how many people turn their heads to M&Ps. Pretty sure the UA-camrs watch other UA-camrs who are Glock fanboys discredit this most likely due to being scared they will lose subscribers for recommending anything but a Glock.
The Glock “aftermarket” and “longer reliability” arguments are becoming a moot point. M&P are not that much more difficult to work on than Glocks and honestly most civilians don’t need to get to this level. Those that say they “build ARs” do nothing more than just assemble already built parts love saying they “tinker” and go with Glocks.
M&P has more than proven themselves to compete and exceed Glocks.

M&P 2.0 for me. I have the 19 and .40 version compacts and a Shield Plus. Superior by far in my opinion 👍
Have you reviewed the PSA Dagger Compact? It is functionally a Glock gen3 (since the patent ran out). For $350 you can get a threaded barrel optics cut version. That's a tremendous value compared to Glock price. There's a guy on YT who's put 7500 rounds through his without issue
My choice is the M&P M2.0 Subcompact because I prefer a manual safety, but I am eyeing the Dagger
Dagger is an excellent gun (and not just "for the price"). It's legitimately a good gun. If I'm not mistaken, you can use all OEM and aftermarket Glock parts in it, so you would have endless options to choose from if you want to upgrade anything in time. You just can't use mag-wells unless they're made for the dagger (which they probably don't make). Not sure about holsters either (but I think they will work). If you compare the Dagger and the G19 on "HandgunHero" and line up the trigger guards, they're nearly identical. Just as the SS80 frame will work in all Glock 43 holsters, the inside of the trigger guards are almost identical (which is the part that the holster grabs/clicks onto). Haven't verified it online though. Forgive the rant. Just love guns!

I have to admit that I don't want to like glock. They are functionally perfect. I have never had a problem with one and I have only found a small few guns I shoot better. I just want to find something else to love but I cant.
Just buy more Glocks.
Get a Shadow Systems or a Zev OZ9. That's what my dad did. He grew up shooting Glocks and it's difficult to overcome all that training and experience. There are guns he enjoys shooting better (such as the Walther PDP, CZ P10C, etc), but when it comes to defending his life he trusts himself being able to hit his shots with tighter groupings using a Glock 19. That's why he could never go to a different platform even though a stock Glock doesn't come with the best sights, trigger, grip texture, undercut, and so forth. That and he never experienced any malfunctions with a Glock.
My siblings and I pitched together to get him a Zev OZ9 for his 50th birthday and he absolutely loves it.

You must not be looking very hard...
same.. a G22 was my first pistol, and I never really liked it -- and now after a decade of buying ALL the other guns out there, I've circled back to glocks; I snagged a dagger, built a g35 and a G17 p80, and I grabbed another g22... Once the patent expired- it's just hard to beat a custom glock build now; You can get all the fancy serrations or "window cuts that you like -- get it with the optic you want, and it's still dirt cheap.

Do this video again with these guns; but take out the striker pin from each one. That's what sold me on the Glock. Not hammering out roll pins.
Glock will always be king of disassembly. Some of these guns, you shouldn't even take apart.

This is why I don’t rely on other peoples top list. Your list of handguns don’t fit a certain narrative of “high quality” or “great triggers”. Nothing against H/S but he dropped the ball on this one.
@@totalnewb123 My list is about high value for the money. Budget minded. I have crossed nearly all of these pistols for under $300 at one time or another. It's a good list, just not the category of your preference. We could make a list about "most money wasted on a gun" and throw in $6k 2011, fancy sig p226 model for $3k or some shiny revolver for $4k --- but that wouldn't be my kind of list.. even though someone out there would love it as their top tier.

If anyone is looking for a Glock 19 alternative that is around the size of the Glock 19 with a great aftermarket support, this would be my list:
1. S&W M&P 2.0 Compact (especially the new one that comes optics ready with the flat trigger)
2. CZ P10C
3. FN 509 Mid size
4. Beretta APX Centurion (I would probably wait for the A1 variant refresh though)
And if you're okay with a slightly higher bore axis and larger size before aftermarket support is taken into account:
1. Sig P320 Compact (still wish Sig made a 3.9" XCompact)
2. Walther PDP Compact
3. HK VP9
My favorites are the Walther PDP and the CZ P10C, but the S&W M&P is probably the closest to the Glock 19 size while still having substantial aftermarket support.

@@fightingsolveseverything7667 yes but that is expensive with many upgrades most people won't usually need. At that point it would be better to buy an FCU and build it or get a discontinued XCarry, an XCompact grip module, and a 15 round mag, but all of those costs extra. It would be nice to get a standard XCompact straight from Sig with a 3.9" barrel when the Compact and M18 does. A 3.6" version doesn't make sense to me when the P365xl and P365 Macro exist.
Hello everyone.I have to choose between glock 19 and canik tp9 elite.But i can't decide.Canik's price glock's reputation is very good.Which weapon would you choose directly out of the box.(don't count the glock store so don't take into account the glock's part variety.).the canik seems better quality to me.Since it will be my first gun, I want it to be a special weapon that deserves my money.If you answer impartially, I would love it, my friends :)
I had both of them at one time. I sold the tp9 elite for $250. The Tp9 elite was too top heavy for my liking. It has a great trigger, but that's really the only advantage it has over a Glock.

No Hellcat Pro? 15 rds, slightly smaller in all dimensions, same capacity and a few ounces lighter at 21oz. You did mention the XDm Elite, so there is that, but the Hellcat is another option that is worth a mention that has a good sized following of its own.
I agree w/ the XL. but the Hellcat is in the "micro" wonder 9's, so I think he's just saving it for another video.
@@calholli the Pro is about the same size as the XL. The original Hellcat, and the RDP stripped down would be micros, but the Pro is a compact.

@@mikedgg2 Did you miss where I said the XL and the Hellcat Pro are in the same class? The Pro COULD very well be considered a Glock alternative just as easily as a P365 XL.
IMHO, the Walther P99 AS is the greatest all around polymer carry pistol on the planet.

No Ruger Security 9 or SR9? Both good quality guns at great prices. Stryker fired, 15 and 17 round capacity.
Ruger security 9 is hammer fired probably why he left it off the list. Ruger American pistol 9mm on the other hand should have been included

The glock 19 is better than almost every single one of the glock clones. The only ones which are about as good are the pdp, vp9 and the steyr m9. sig p320 and XDs are complete trash.
Guns are like a woman we all have likes and dislikes so shop around find the one that fits you don't let the wonder lust and think you're missing out take care of it practice with it and be happy you got one when the time comes to use it
i like the Glock's not a Glock fan but do like them i am getting a Glock 17 Gen 5 but i still thank the 1911 is the best handgun out there
