my mother was scammed once before. If you've been scammed, or know someone who has. You kinda wish something like this would happen to them. Also, simple; basic premise and 'splosions. Sometimes you just need to watch something like this to unwind.

Saw it at a early screening and you honestly can't guess on the path the movie goes but it's a fun movie.

But anyone who does not like the kind of “coked-up” (for lack of a better word), “The Stathe” movies, mixed with 90’s big dumb action movies (but turned up to 11), mixed with a dollar store John Wick (and gotta give credit to Jeremy Jahns for that one, but he and I mean that in the best way), this movie will not work for them. For me, I loved it. I had a great time. And plan on seeing it again. I liked the action. And wasn’t quite at VIOLENT NIGHT, NOBODY or John Wick level, but up there.

Are we absolutely positive this isn’t a parody? Every review of the Beekeeper says it’s a straight action movie. Then they all start reading off points that would totally be in a parody of action flicks. And, Ayer’s ain’t so inept as to make something like this by accident.
I saw this with a group of friends on a whim. We didn't expect it to be awesome. It's definitely a good time.

The day I saw this movies poster and title I assumed it was a fake movie made by AI for laughs. Boy was I wrong

Just left the theater and went straight to DT...This movie was like an illuminati humiliation ritual. After the ridiculous beekeeper puns I began to enjoy the movie for what it was....which is a comedy. The only problem is that the movie thinks it's a dramatic action flick. 😂

This wasn’t high class cinema but this was a harking back to an era of movies I adore. And yes it didn’t lean in quite enough… but modern era society just wouldn’t accept a movie leaning in that hard.
This was fun and I hope they get a sequel.
Dude's title should just be Asskicker. Cause he does that through this whole movie and doesn't stop. It's kind of like John Wick only Jason Stathem has years of martial arts experience under his belt, so the fighting is faster and hits a bit harder.

Yeah it’s silly. I kind of get it. It’s not supposed to be super serious action film. It’s the ridiculous action film that’s purpose is to just have fun and not get too serious
There is a good way to do that and a bad way to do that. The Fast and the Furious franchise has plenty of both. Furious 5-7 do it well and 8-10 do it poorly. Though this will depend on the viewer obviously.

Glad I watched it. My new year's resolution is seeing more lesser-known movies.
If it's any help, British humour loves deadpan delivery: tough angry serious men saying silly stuff (or any distinctive size and shape of human tbh) with a straight-as-fck face is totally a thing we got cooking - Statham has a bit of a history leaning into this and doing it pretty well too lol!

Comedy as a label hasn't been helpful for marketing, it's makes total sense that films now avoid it with at most hinting at comedy elements. The marvel movies everyone knows are comedic, yet apart from the blatant comedic characters they hardly ever market them as comedies. It's just marketing dude. 👩🔬

You were right about the villains' clothes. One guy looked like he was straight out of the TMNT universe. That FBI woman was a horrible actress. But it's just mindless fun. I've been telling everyone it's a John Wick wannabe movie.

I don’t know that it would. Cuts like these are always divisive among everybody. Some really want that impact, and some were just so sucked into the ridiculousness that it works okay, since it’s not quite the Taken 2/3 level of over-edited fights. It’s not every single step or punch that they cut. They do allow a good enough number of moves. Hell, you could look at a fight from Daredevil (yes, Charlie Cox) and say the same thing, when it’s not the one-take fights simply because you loved the one-take fights so much. How harsh are you planning to be in that moment?

@@bigdreams5554 Commando and 48 Hours had the same chase song in their movies. Another thing is Commando had a lot of gaffes and bad editing. Like the mall scene when he jumps off the elevator it was so obvious it was a stuntman. When Matrix is holding Sully's leg you can clearly see the wire holding his leg. Another one is when Sully's Porsche skids on the side and when Matrix flips it you can see the skid marks but when they get in the car and drive off it is totally brand new car.

Okay oh I’m so confused with their take on movies because when they was reviewing Echo, they act like that was the greatest thing since sliced bread but this movie was pretty good and they talking about how silly it is. Make it make sense.
I don't blame Adam for doing what he did. They were targeting the elders and weak of our society. His friend was a good woman, bet when she was a teacher she saved a lot of people from going down a dark path.
I'll watch Jason Statham kick ass any day of the week.

I planned on watching about 30 minutes of this tonight until the preworkout from the gym wore off but like koreh says this shit escalates so quick, not even a scene of bonding between statham and phylisha Rashad. They just get right to it, I finished it and came over to see what this channel had to see and yes it was absolutely fucking nuts but a good throwback to a classic dad action movie. Of all the silly shit in this movie the only thing I didn't like was statham running from the like 8 assault rifles and they all miss. I'm over the good guy not getting shot at all from that kind of fire power but I loved this movie.
I love my man, Jason Statham... but i wish one day he can work with Christopher Nolan, Quinten Tarentino or The Coen Brothers to show some range. I'm kind of getting tired of him being in these dumb action movies.
I still don't believe that Phylicia Rashad's character committed suicide....
That felt like a major plot hole waiting to be filled with mob connections that she was really the bookie for a crime syndicate and the charity was a cover.
When the daughter FBI agent found the beekeeper in the house I thought that was where they would team up and take it to the Mob directions with this fantastical parody of of a secret assassin organization instead of being more grounded

Beekeeper is NOT dumb fun, nor old-fashioned. I wanted it to be, but instead it's a bad CSI episode guest starring Jason Statham. The writing is trash, the plot is trash, and the production quality is Tubi-original level.
Saw it last weekend at rhe early screening. It's good stahtam fun. Better than expendables 4. Great action. I would recommend.

I feel like sticking with Ulee’s Gold instead, but Ayers has directed things like End of Watch in the past (quietly excellent) and w/ the cast assembled, The Beekeeper could be a sleeper action flick, too.

I wish this movie was smart enough to realize how dumb it is because the stuff with the cops where it takes itself semi-seriously while still wanting to be a buddy comedy was painful.

5:26 That’s where we differ because I truly don’t want that in an action movie🤷🏽♂️. If this was Don’t be a Menace While Drinking your Juice in the Hood I’d get it but I know people that love this movie and think of it as a serious action movie and it has me questioning how smart some folks are to actually enjoy such mindless cinema. I’d rather just watch Die Hard or one of the old truly great films in this genre over whatever the heck this was.
One thing not mentioned, imagine mrs huxtable from the cosby show, someone we all know and like, who is slowly becoming senile, and is ripped off by these sleazebags. It rips at your heartstrings.
No easy answer, so they come up with a ridiculous one.. But the revenge is sweet as tupelo honey.
