(419) Black & White & Pearl ~ Spin art ~ Cup bottom reverse flower dip ~ Acrylic pour painting

- I tried to use Black & White & Pearl instead of just black and pearl white just to see, if I will get different result. I think that it looks different, but not as much, that I thought. But I really like the final painting and I'm happy that I spin it out.
TECHNIQUE: Reverse flower dip with paper napkin, Cup bottom pour
PROCESS:
- Pour your base on canvas
- Put your FLOWER SHAPED DESERT CUP on the canvas with bottom up
- Pour paints on the bottom and use PEARL WHITE or some metallic paints between each colour to create petal - lacing effect
- Take off the cup
- Use SKEWER to draw some petal shapes
- Gently put PAPER NAPKIN or towel on canvas ( You can use dry or damped napkin)
- Lift one corner at the time and then gently lift it (the middle last)
- Torch it for air bubbles and to activate pearl white and metallic paints
- And here is your flower :)
MATERIAL I USED:
- 10x10 inch canvas
- Acrylic paints mixed with pouring medium
- Flower shaped desert cup
- Paper napkin or towel
- Wooden skewer
- Palete knife
- Torch
COLOURS I USED:
- Boesner black
- Boesner titanium white
- Vallejo Pearl medium
My pearl mixture:
1 part Vallejo pearl medium
2 parts pouring medium
All my paints are mixed with Boesner Guardi acrylic binder and acrylic emulsion.

This is far and away one of my favorites. I love the color shift caused by the pearl medium and black. I love the blue cast of the petals, and the gorgeous lacing. I watch this one over and over again. Love it!

Hi Fiona!! 👋😎👋 I definitely think adding the white made a wonderful difference!!
I'm also thinking you should try it without adding the pearl medium on the inside of the white. This will leave the lacing on just one side of the petals. I've also seen where Gilly adds a dark blue, I'm not sure if it's navy or thalo blue, but it makes the black much blacker.
Also, if you have a corner or side that is not spinning out as far as the other edges, move that part of the canvas out farther from the center of your spinner. That will even out the spin. The reason that happens is because the unmoving part of the paint is closer to the center, so you want to move it farther out, away from the center. You won't have to tilt the canvas to try to even it out.
Have you thought of adding colored mica to your pearl white? I've seen some that have paint that will change the color of the pearl medium, as well as paint with mica chips where the paint dries clear and just leaves the colored mica chips.
