I don't know if anyone noticed, but in Monika's first verse, you can hear the notes of Your Reality in C sharp minor (I think Thats the key)

Making a second comment here, but basically game theory made a video going through the files of DDLC and made a theory that Team Salvato were making another horror game that all the girls in DDLC were originally from, with Yuri as the main antagonist(with some help from redditers)
So one reason monica was mad was because she WAS supposed to be the main character.
"You're a Hole in the Wall" actually references one of Monika's poems! "Hole in the Wall" I believe
It is exactly a reference to one of her poems and I think it's the poem she gives us in act 1 which is a line Harley later says "pretend we're back in act 1 your love is not an option"
Heya! Just a couple tidbits of information!
First off, it's pronounced like the word "canal"!
Secondly, technically Natsuki, Sayori and Yuri are all still Monika as she is the one controlling them through her game. It's basically just like Jim Henson using Kermit to deliver lines for harder hits!
Also, "this room would fill up with way too many issues", double entendre as in comic issues, but also as in Harley Quinn has a LOT of issues.

Great reaction, I highly recommend more Freshy Kanal! A lot of his live action videos hit hard not only in bars, but also in the visuals. Personal recommendation is his newest one, Leatherface vs Hannibal.

Awesome to see you react to this, always like seeing Freshy Kanal getting some love, such an underrated channel. Just a by the way, as far as I know it's pronounced like the word "canal", but lots of people are unsure the first time, he's probably used to it. I'd love to see you cover more of these. You did one of my top 6 Freshy battles, so I only have 5 recommendations. They are Pennywise vs Freddy Krueger (his best battle), Coraline vs Alice (best animation and wordplay of any battle), Wonder Woman vs Daenerys Targaryen (his most recent of these and just a very all-round strong battle), Chucky vs Woody (his oldest of these and perhaps the most one-sided) and NF vs Billie Eilish (one of only a few battles with real characters and NF's flow is on point). If you do react to Pennywise vs Freddy Krueger, when Pennywise starts a bar with "Now the question is...", let the rest of the verse run straight through without pausing first, then go back and break it down. You will not be disappointed.
I don't think anyone does breakdowns like yours to Kanal's videos. It would be great if you continue to do them

1. Swinging the bat to get to 3rd base is a baseball joke.
2. There was a theory that DDLC was secretly a foreign spying tool or something (probably based on how creepy Monika talking to the player was).
3. That's Freshy Kanal's old channel logo in the window.
4. I think the 'getting owned by DC' is also a reference to 'disconnected from a game'.

Yooooo its great you're checking out Freshy, check out Alexander Hamilton vs Luke Skywalker, its a great battle and they talk about Hamilton historically, mixing it with his musical portayal.
The Pyrocynical vs Memeulous one is fire, you should take a look at that one
don't forget technically because she controls the game files she controls the other characters that's why they killed themselves in the first place she amplified sayori's depression to the point of no return even if you told sayori you weren't in love with her and you just wanted to continue being friends (which is really fucked up considering she wasn't a threat anymore and they were supposed to be friends) she amplified Yuri's self harm problem to the point of stabbing herself in front of you and natsuki no matter what she amplified she couldn't get her to kill herself (the neck snap thing was a jumpscare made by monika to deter the player from natsuki but natsuki was fine after because her neck didn't actually snap) so because that wasn't working she had to just flat out erase her (also on a interesting side note natsuki seems to have the most awareness of monika's treachery and be the most in control of herself since she tried to warn the mc about what was happening because she Actually says at one point after expressing her worry for yuri and asking you to spend some time with her to hopefully help her get better and tells you *NOT TO TELL MONIKA* before monika sadly figured out what she was doing and forced herself into natsuki's mind to make her say to "ignore what she said and to ignore her and stay away from her because she's too fucked up in the head" which yeah she is a little messed up but that's because her dad is a fucking scumbag abuser who also starves her which is actually why she's so short and child looking because he starves her so the lack of the proper amount of protein and calories and just food she got stinted her growing (is stinted the right word?) and also definitely did not help her mood because ya know you're not you when you're hungry aka her pretty much the whole game
@Caiden Leonard yes. Yes she is. I don't know what it is about her that allows her to resist and see through Monika's deceit so well but somehow she does which officially makes her the second-most powerful npc in the game IMO

Yuri actually self harmed herself. I think her line “either a self harming love or getting cut out” was also a reference to the cuts on her arms accompanying what you said. However I could be VERY wrong.
Harley quinn is a 4th wall breaker of course youre gonna see lines that are talking to the viewer she tell her own stories basically breaking the 4th wall entirely

I'd love to see more branching out like this. I think you'd really enjoy Princess Rap Battles for the literary allusions. Dan Bull and The Stupendium do some amazing stuff, too, not battles per se though.
Not sure if it’s unfair Monica has the other characters because she does kind of just control them all after all. They’re all just extensions of Monica in the end.

14:22 - that's a Lazarus pit, right? That would explain why Harley comes back looking like her newest version, because the Lazarus pit brought her back,more in a rebirth way tho.
I think it's the chemicals that the Joker fell into that turned his skin white and supposedly made him crazy. In newer versions of Harley's story (such as Suicide Squad), she also fell into the chemicals, which is why she looks like her Suicide Squad version there
