    Dear sir
    On my flexibility journey, the first three questions you asked, can I place my hands flat on the floor? Can I do a front split and can I kick as high as my head
    Yes yes yes
    However, trying to get a side split. It's absolutely pathetic
    How do I figure out what muscles are limiting my side split when I can do all those other things?

      as someone that can do all including middle splits id recommend just holding it lower and lower actively and also figure out if tilting your pelvis allows you to get deeper because you can get stuck due to a limitation in the hip joint and tilting ur pelvis can get around that

    The limiting factor for me seems to be the muscles behind the knee rather than the hamstrings. What do you call these? I have been doing gravity stretches for months but while my hamstrings are more flexible, these other muscles have not improved.

      hamstrings go behind the knee their primary function is knee flexion could also be calf muscle or sciatic nerve tho
