Vieville Tarot Comparison Benedetti, Flornoy, and Hismans

- This video is the 3rd Viéville comparison video showing Marco Benedetti's version against the Flornoy and Sullivan Hismans from Tarot Sheet Revival.
I chose these two decks because although they are not facsimile decks, they are scholarly decks, giving a glimpse of how the decks might have looked back in the day.
I have done other Viéville videos, comparing even other of my Viéville decks. But for this series, I'm strictly comparing facsimile type decks.
if we are looking very closely at Marco's deck, we can see very little diagonal lines (barely visible, similar to the Anonymous Tarot of Paris, which has both diagonal lines and a chequered pattern), I am glad Sullivan Hismans picked up on this missing detail ❤
Yeah, I guess it's there, just not as glaringly obvious as in TSR. Sometimes I love the dynamic of those lines, other times, like this last video, they felt like too much. But TSR color is amazing in bringing the deck back to life. All of these decks are exceptional. I'm so happy to have my 6 Viéville decks. All of them have a time and place to shine. I've done many Viéville videos in the past also.
Hi Marilyn, I liked it the most when you had the Hismans' cards next to Marco's cards. I thought they compliment each other, since Hismans' does an updated facsimile look. Also, a comment on the hanged man card. The Vieville has the card in the right direction for the Flemish decks. Those I have seen, like the Vandenborre, have both the number and the head of the hanged man at the top. If you look closely at the Flemish deck that Marco keeps teasing, the hanged man there too has the number and head at the top of the card. The VII at the top and the name of the card at the bottom. It isn't a mistake in the Vieville as far as I can tell.
Yeah, I know. I say it's a mistake, because it is supposed to be a Hanged Man. But I am aware it may have been intentional. I just can't bring myself to see it that way. 🤣 Marco has since told me that he had intended the Hanged Man to be sent inverted, but somehow it was 'corrected' in my deck. I thought that was funny. The universe (powers that be) put it in the direction I prefer to see it. It's just me and one of my weaknesses. 🤣
@@MarilynFromTarotClarity LOL, it is not a weakness. Only a preference. We all have our preferences. It is definitely a strange way to see a hanged man. Maybe the first Flemish deck had the mistake and all of the others just copied it thinking there was a reason for it.😂
@@CaseyMay54 That's my assumption, which is why I always turn it upright. I figure it's what it's supposed to be. 🤗

These 3 Viéville decks make a really nice comparison. Although the Flornoy and TSR decks aren't facsimile, they are so scholarly that they might as well be. Thank you for watching and commenting. I try to show all my decks to their best advantage. ~ Marilyn
