Great job discussing your preferences and reasoning. Yeah, when I first got this monitor, my previous display for literally everything was a 1080p 32 inch tv from walmart, branded "Element". While some people don't quite understand our fascination with tweaking our display settings to give us the greatest satisfaction, it's most certainly something I appreciate a great deal. The difference between 1080p @ 32 inch flat display, to a curved 32 inch 1440p, not to mention multiple layers of controllable backlighting is a real eye opener. After getting this monitor originally for my xbox one, I ended up deciding to just buy an entire Desktop PC a year later, just to see what i've been missing out on. Small tweaks and adjustments for personal preference is key in maximizing your entertainment experience. Those who don't do this, in my opinion, are really missing out. Thanks for explaining your reasoning behind the settings and clarification of personal preference on the settings that were more suited to your tastes.
What about the overdrive settings? I'm thinking of getting a 1440p 21:9 curved, but these only come with VA panels, I'm not sure if all these black smearing/picture dimming demonstrations on UA-cam are because of inoptimal settings or just an inherent VA problem (search for "odyssey g5 ghosting" for example) I also heard Samsung's G7 VA panels don't have this, but they're more expensive, don't come in 21:9 and nigh impossible to obtain where I live.

why when hdr is enabled everything goes so grey, even with that brightness balance slider all the way up? is that normal? i taught hdr should make everything visually better...
Should i put . freesync on if i have ist plugged on Xbox x?
Yes
Any explanation to why the monitor is so blurry with free sync enabled on xbox?
Check your sharpness settings on the monitor and see if you can change the response time in the settings
I love your screen wallpaper. What is it and where did you get it?
Wallpaper engine app off Steam
Hello, thanks for your video, but can we configurate it to 144hz to 120hz cause I play on Xbox series s, help me please.
It’ll do that by default when you set the Xbox to it
@@1UpNerdcore thank you
I really helps with my videos settings.. Thanks!!
How can i turn on G sync? I have Odessey G5 32" model, I've turned on free sync but G sync isn't appearing in Nvidia Control Panel. What should i do ??
Does this work with Gsync compatibility ? I just ordered this and want to know if the freesync on this will work with rtx 3070
It will, it’s not officially certified but it works
@@1UpNerdcore How do I turn off the blue flashing light near the button at the bottom of the monitor that you used at the beginning of the video. I find it harder to sleep with it on
Great info! Much appreciated
Why you use sharpness option and not Samsung Magic sharpness option?
Im using this monitor on my ps4 what do you suggest for my settings i play a lot of cod please answer do i have to put free sync on or off for ps4?
Hello plz plz plz I need help, my monitor brightness and contrast is capped at 50, and other settings are capped at different numbers as well why is it?
Thank you.
You have the newer version of the panel and newer firmware
Dang this helped a frickin lot
yo, on an edge on my monitor some of the screen looks like it has like a white cloud or fade do yk how to fix it
Could be the 1000R curve but since I can’t see it in person it’s hard to say. If it’s there all the time you might hit up Samsung to see if it’s defective
Hello bro, thanxs for your video. What are the settings you recommanded for the odyssey g5 ips model? Same as va panel?
Why can't you use the screen adjustment setting?
Hey, could you help with a thing ?
My only options for refresh rate 60hz and 100hz ... What i have to do to show the 144hz and 165hz ?
thank you
Check your DP cable version
Awesome, it looks so great nmow on my monitor! Did you change the HDR color profile in your windows settings? ANd is your HDR is turned on? When mine is on I cant change the black eq...hmm
When HDR is turned on you’ll lose almost all of the other settings you can change. I don’t calibrate this for HDR as it wasn’t something I used outside of testing for the review.
Do u have an issue with this monitor and using freesync with Nvidia? Every time I active g sync it causes black screens to appear in game for a second then go back.
Great video, but do you get terrible ghosting with this monitor? It's so bad for me.
It’s not the worst I’ve seen but it is pretty noticeable.
@@1UpNerdcore so it's par with other more expensive VA panels ?
How come the input lag is greyed out problem and how to fix??
Hi there!
I recently got this monitor, but my monitor does not have the value of 100 in contrast, etc. I just have 50. So in games I cant apreeciate the white zones, I see it with lot of bight
I appreciate the settings but do you have any way to not lose details
I just ordered this monitor after watching your review and hopefully it's arriving tommorow. I'm kind of lost between displayport and HDMI. What's the difference and which one is overall better for this monitor? I heard that the colors on hdmi are better but it doesn't have freesync and so on. Could you please explain these differences? Thanks.

This is a little older but a great video on this
The monitor is here and I have no complaints.
I paid 280$ for the 27in version which was a steal considering that similar monitors like the G27 where around 350.
My unit has no black smearing issues,no dead or burnt pixels but there's a bit of backlight bleed at the bottom so I guess I didn't win the panel lottery.
Been playing on a cheap $140 cured Samsung monitor for ab 4 years now. 1080 of course. Once I hooked up this G5 on my series x with 1440 @ 120 I find everything looks worse. Everything looks like super washed out.
For example while playing division 2 on my older monitor I could see extremely far with no blurring, now I cannot. Anything beyond 50 meters of my character has a slight blur.
Mine is the same way the settings just make it worse
@@Redd-mo5bt I’m honestly about to return it and get a dell 24 inch curved 1080. The blurring is so bad that it’s giving me headaches and I’m used to having 12-16 hour gaming sessions with no issue
Could you resolve this issue?
I have the g5 but want a dualmonitor setup. do you have any tips for a good and cheap dualmonitor for the g5?
Depends on what you’re looking for. Resolution, refresh rate, curve, extra USB ports etc.
Can the G55A output at up to & above 120Hz when FreeSync is enabled? From what I understand, VRR tech can dynamically adjust a display's refresh rate from the lowest possible refresh rate of the display to the highest possible refresh rate of the display.
Where's the link to LTT's video?

So you are using rtx 2080 on the freesync monitor, can you enable the g-sync on this monitor?
2080ti and yea you can enable gsync compatibility
@@1UpNerdcore nice vid bro, thank you so much👍👍👍
Hey, i have this monitor for my xbox one but it doesnt let me use a mic through the controller, do you know how to solve this?
On your response times is the fastest motion blur reduction option available?
I have the same problem. Do you resolve?
how could you enable gsync option with G5. i do not have this option in nvidia menu????
Make sure you have an nvidia gpu and then enable freesync in the panel menu the. It should be available in the nvidia control panel
@@1UpNerdcore thank you. but i have 3070 and G5 monitor and i enabled freesync in the panel. still i cannot see this option.. what do you think?
I don’t have my 3070 yet so I can’t test that. I’d look on some forums to see.
you need a display port cable
i just got this monitor and it has pretty bad ghosting. i can't seem to tweak the settings and minimize it...Any suggestions or is this just the curse of VA panels
It’s really just the curse of VA panels
have you solved with the ghosting problem?
@@Rufuz_tv i have the same problem but I can't resolve it
Great video
Do you turn the monitor off manually at the end of the day or you have it in sleep mode? Thanks
It turns off on its own when I shut down my pc
How did you set it up? My screen turn off when I shut the pc but I think it's in sleep mode. When I restart the pc the screen comes on again. Tx
Is that the g55t? 27 inch?
you might have stopped me from returning it to the store
I bought mine 10 days ago. For those asking if it's worth it, if you're just a casual who doesn't really care about being super competitive, then yes.
I play fps games casually and rpg/story games mostly (PC and PS4) and I like what I see. The rest I do with this monitor is browsing. Coming from an old 22" LG 60hz 1080p, I'm loving it. Plus, budget friendly. Ish.
Can't speak for the "elite gamers" because I'm not one lol.
As a tryhard fps and compétitive player I can say that the smearing on this screen is a real problem. But for casual gaming, this is worth it
Do you have to turn off the monitor on the power button? Or is it enough to turn off the computer and not touch the monitor? The power button is pretty soft on this monitor
If there’s no input signal any monitor will turn off
@@1UpNerdcore thank you
Just got it and thanks for the effort/video. Still can you update the description with Linus's video. Ty
How did you mount your g5 to a monitor arm?? I have the monitor but i can’t mount it due to the circle design on the back blocking the vesa mount
You’ll need risers for a vesa mount and I believe the plastic piece in the back pops off 👍🏻
What settings would you recommend for PS5 for G5 Monitor?
Same as I give here 👍🏻
hello can you activate 10 bits color? my radeon dont work and i cant set to use
i turned the sharpness back up into the 50s because in the 20s its so blurry that you cant tell what kind of material/texture something is
wierd when I turn on freesync I can't change black levels or gamma etc. All greyed out :S. Even updated the firmware
I used your settings but when I turn Freesync off everything looks super blurry, any idea?
