There are very few videos of Kumano Kodo. I was glad to find yours. It's a privilege to walk this ancient trail alone. thanks for sharing the experience. I plan to be there end of April.
Gorgeous but cold & solitary. I LOVED this and enjoyed your music selection so much. Thank you for chronicling this! It made me yearn to go to Japan even though I am here right now 🤔
That's the Caminoes, Bro: when you feel alone or homesick prevails, the Path offers you a friend (or every other thing you need). I appreciated your video because I will follow your steps next spring. I will walk alone alone also, but your video gave me a hope: "You'll never walk alone!" as the song said.
I just hiked it in Dec 2023! I went solo too and didn’t know there was a song about meeting another hiker. The trail did deliver fellow solo hikers for me. Companions on the path. Could you share the song? It was an incredible pilgrimage hike. 😍
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching! 😁 I was planning on doing this hike in the summer, but I’m glad I did in the winter! But cherry blossom season is probably the ideal time I reckon, not too hot or cold 👍
Awesome man! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, despite me being homesick 😅 any idea which route you’re taking? I’m guessing the nakahechi route as I did?
Hey, thanks for watching! Sorry for late response. I did take the bus for only for a short portion. I actually started the ukegawa-koguchi segment of the Kumano kodo near the shimoji-bashi bus stop, which is a lot further than hongu taisha. I managed to save some time and Kms that way. I started hiking at around 5am that day! Gave me plenty of time to reach nachi taisha in time for the last bus back home! 😁
Doing the Nakahechi route end of May, can‘t wait! Did you really do the Hongu Taisha to Nachi Taisha part in one day? Sounds pretty intense, especially with camera equipent/ filming in between

Hello
When did you start walking from takijirioji? How long did each walking day take?😊
Love it bro ❤
Cheers bro ❤ gotta link up when I get back to Southend 👊
Did you manage to walk from Takijiri-oji the whole time or did you take the bus? 3 days is swift for such a distance!
