Welcome back to Lightning Springs Ranch. This week we need to round up the cows and push them out of the high country. The only problem is there is only 2 of us available to find the 200 cows up here and bring them off the mountain. Follow along with our adventure of trying to wrangle these cows.

Wolves in Far Northern California too now. It’s getting outta control
They are everywhere now. And they just released more right across the border from us in Colorado.
I’d say not a chance you seen coyotes . We had sheepherders spot wolves in the western Unitas back in the 70’s . There have always been some wolves up there .
We have had other sightings that I’m certain were wolves. They definitely are around there!
Unfortunately we’re bound to get a lot more move in and all too soon

This is public land. It’s the Ashley National Forest. It is absolutely beautiful

That is in the Deadman drainage in the Uintah mountains. Its actually just a big purple rock baldy like the rest, the lighting is just different.@@jessicah7247
I just found your videos I love them. Do you only run cows uinta's?
Thank you! They are up there all summer but in the rest of the year they are down lower because the snow gets too deep. We bring them down into more of a desert

Get ya Catahoula bay dogs and dog break them cows and the wolves won’t be an issue anymore because the cows will learn to bunch up to protect the calves

What kind of pistol do you guys carry
Both pistols we had are single action revolvers. One is chambered in 45 Colt and the other one in .357.

Wolves home on BLM property seems reasonable to me. CA has an agreement where wolf killed cattle can be reimbursed expenses. This setup makes it so cow/calf operators reap a profit from a loss even when market prices do not. My last steaks came from Canada. you ever seen South America? Yes, great lifestyle. Stay safe. your horse was tossing his head and freaking out because you are using a compression bit and he has not been taught the principle of bend.
That bay horse is actually being ridden in a hackamore. He doesn’t ride with a bit.
