AJ STYLES turned a BOTCHED flying forearm into a WEEKEND LONG STORY

- Опубліковано 13 жов 2022
- In the fall of 2015 AJ Styles, alongside the Young Bucks, took part in Chikara's King of the Trios tournament. A surprising story that came from the tournament would be when AJ Styles slipped and fell, botching one of his signature moves. Always a fantastic storyteller - Styles turned the error into an angle over the next three matches.

Who else have you seen turn a mistake into something incredible... and don't say Titus World Slide 🤣
He didn’t turn it into something amazing that was good, but the shockmaster screw up has become one of my favorite vine sauce memes
😬
yeah they took that and ran it into the ground
Don’t you mean something phenomenal
This reminds me of the semis of Super J Cup '94, Liger vs. Sasuke. Sasuke did the exact same slip and Liger totally saved it by giving him mock applause. Then Sasuke gave him the surprise rana for the pin, absolutely fantastic finish that was actually made better by the botch and Liger's reaction.
"I hate those lucha ropes"😂
I am dead
is oh okay it happen to me most of the time lol.
What the difference?
@@deana6072 there thinner
@@deana6072thinner and a bit more slippery
When he finally landed one, that was like a satisfying end to a good movie. Ups and downs
GOLDEN UPS
BROWN DOWNS
Like Ric Flair hitting a move off the top rope 😅
Better story, Styles is actually a real nice person. Met several over the years in the non kayfabe world.
Dude I want to meet him too ypu are actually lucky
Never heard a bad thing about aj from anybody even guys who were hard to get along with like aj, only one is cm punk, which seems like is more of punks fault from what we see nowadays
If you’re ever fortunate enough to see AJ live and up close, you’re bound to hear some great one liners. About 3 years ago I was sitting front at a WWE live event and AJ went up to the top and got the ol’ foot kicked out from under him, crotch to the ropes. He so happened to fall and roll to the outside in front of me. While selling the shot and flopping around on the floor I heard him murmur in pain “ohhhh, my Jesus zipper” 😂
I seen him in TNA at Slammiversry 2007 I was like 8 rows back stage side I was pretty fkn close. I seen him many times but that was the first and closest.
The young bucks buttered the ropes!!
He's a 🐐.
I still remember like yesterday when he came in the Royal I was so hype man I was so happy
Easily one of the coolest royal rumble entries in history i agree
I remember it well.....I remember WWE focusing the camera on Roman Reigns trying to capture his reaction rather than showing AJ Bloody Styles himself.....I'll never forgive them for that
Bro was not ready to fly
I didn't know he had a chikara stint. Was pretty lucky to have that promotion basically in my backyard.
I miss Chikara
I think it was just for the tournament. They would bring in a lot of guys for those
It was as a guest for the 2015 King of Trios. They'd often invite people from different structure. That King of Trios also had AAA taking part.
He wasn't there often. I think king of trios was his only appearance there. Could be wrong but he was never really on the roster or anything.
I miss bullet club days
AJ,a class of his own
He is the god of wrestling 🔥🔥🔥
No that's JBL
@@Shadow_Gamer12012 imagine comparing Bradshaw to Styles 😭🤡
@@thef5558 imagine not getting a joke🤡🤡
@@Shadow_Gamer12012 jokes on you mate making such a ridiculous comment. Who’s laughing?
@@thef5558 lol, wrestling god was literally JBLs gimmick
He did botch occasionally in TNA not just the indies. Yet, he is still a phenominal one in both TNA and WWE.
Yeah but in TNA they didnt make a multi-show storyline of it. Hes made a heck of a career for himself
bro really called bullet club "the club"
I miss those King of the Trios tournaments.
He really is phenomenal!
I miss Chikara. 😔
We’ll happy birthday Aj styles
I hate lucha ropes is my new catch phrase
They don't call him The Phenomenal 1 for nothing. One of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots
king of trios 2015 was a damn good tournament.
2015 was a very very good year. Honestly I give credit to, of all things, Lucha Underground. All of a sudden there were a dozen new stars in a different style beginning to appear in a scene that had primarily been all WWE, TNA and ROH
Watching Aj styles botch is something Rare 😂
That's what seperates the rest of the high fliers from guys like AJ, Rey and Eddie Guerrero, these legends always focused on telling a story first and then the flippy floppy stuff
I hate lucha ropes 😂😂
One of the best ever.
"I HATE LUCHA ROPES!" Lmao
Can't believe styles travels all over the world. You'd think he'd be scared about going over the edge.
I was there for all three days and it was pretty great live seeing AJ do this mini storyline with the ropes.
And then it became his finisher. Aj is the man bruh!!!
So thats what they're called- Thanks AJ!
Awww, AJ vs Fenix... bet it was a banger!
"It's all about the little things..."
man i hope aj get inducted into impact hall of fame.
WWE doesn't always let him show it, but he's one of the best in the world.
I would say it was probably Lesnars idea being as Lesnar and Bob Holly did the same thing years ago when Lesnar botched a powerbomb and broke Holly's neck
AJ the GOAT
Mans the GOAT. Period.
He hates Lucha ropes😂
Could you imagine AJ Styles vs Shawn Michelle’s
You really make me wish I watched TNA aswell, I just never gave it a chance growing up. Hopefully they understand its not just a name change, they need to live up to the name!
Ive got friends who still watch impact religiously but covid really make it hard for me to do the same. the atmosphere is very different. I hope they can bring back more than just the initials.
He was my favorite
Tbf lucha ropes are maily wrapped cable wire kinda things lol
They need to so this with Kofi and the Royal Rumble safes
Was the screw up teaming with the young bucks haha.
I wonder when he made this a story. Never heard or saw a inteview he talking about it.
Omg I think I was at that chikara event
Maybe they should put some neverwet fabric spray on those ropes/cables so they don't get too slippery.
Its cannon that AJ hates lucha ropes
Jeez. Look at the audience in this indie scene. AJ did the right thing going to WWE
WWE wouldn't have taken him without him doing spot shows like these. They had over a decade to sign him from Impact and didn't even try
That's why:
Il est vraiment... Il est vraiment... Il est vraiment phénoménal lalala lala la lalalala lala la....
Best finisher!!!!
AJ Styles is simply the God of Wrestling, no doubt about that.
He's one of the greatest to ever lace em up. So if AJ Styles misses, it's the rope's fault🤷🏿♂️
The best!
Well he did do that weird a$$ angle with Dixie Carter before he left TNA. If could do that he can do anything.
If only Titus turned his botch into a story too
He kind of did but it was mostly so No Way Jose could beat Baron Corbin
Those ropes ain't flat
ahhhh at some point I gotta talk about that too - the fact his response to daniel bryan calling him a flat earther was to say daniel bryans feet are flat.
Cut to him a few years later sitting on the top rope while everyone takes turns shaking it
Absolutely hilarious - originally I had only seen the Ambrose part. Didn't realize they had kept that up after the cameras stopped into the dark segment
The best wrestler in this new generation
This new generation- you know AJ Styles was in WCW right?
@@JOBdOut yes..but he really shine in this current era
AJ is effing fantastic. And the WWE just keeps jobbing him
He isn't considered one of the absolute greatest wrestlers ever for no reason.
Phenomenal botch
"That's what makes AJ..."
"Uh-huh...?"
"... A great storytel-"
YOU HAD ONE JOB
It was king of trios not king of the trios
Is that Rey Mysterio
no
It was Rey Fenix, drago, and Aerostar
There’s that word again 🤦♂️
lucha? it's okay - you're allowed to say it here 😉
😂 no wonder chikira didn't succeed the ropes are more loose then Gold Dust Ex Wife
Aww thats harsh, Terri is a friend of the channel
@@JOBdOut 😭 you still hearted it and found comedic humor out of it
Yup lol I appreciate ya
This is what I love about NJPW. All through the G1 there will be little stories like this playing out. The stories are told through the matches, not boring 20min convoluted promos.
A.J. Styles. Another guy lost in the WWE mid card.
He did get two WWE Title reigns at the top
@@JOBdOut How long ago. And for how long? McMahon can have the most exciting and great workers around and he will completely misuse them and instead push his favored type. Big, over muscular, can’t work and has three moves. Ziggler and Benjamin are fired and Nia Jax is back. Another big over sized can hardly move ‘wrestler’.
What show was this
Chikara's King of the Trios 2015
Bad...lucha things
B
lol nice to see the Young Bucks have always done the same shit moves with as little class to them
Take a clip of them from any year, no improvements 😂
That's why he's wwe star and bucks not
How have the Young Bucks worked with Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, and the MCMG and still not learned what storytelling is?
The others all went elsewhere to places where storytelling was important. The Bucks stayed stubborn and insisted their way was the way
AJ Styles biggest career botch was signing to WWE… Hands down the worst move he’s ever made. We sorely miss him in the world of professional wrestling outside of WWE…
Is that not what any wrestler does roll with it. Vkm u trip going to ring, I meant to that. Whatever happens happens. What else woud one have him do.get up and just tey again.?
Unfortunately these days resetting and trying to do the spot again is EXACTLY what a lot of wrestlers do and it ends up being worth ridicule.
I hate the bucks
I'm a weird case in the aew landscape in that I like page and love omega matches - but I can't stand the bucks and if they're on screen I fast forward or go do something else
He is a wolrd meterial....wwe is used jobber...i cant tolerate this.... Pls aj quiet wwe..
AJ styles would and will never be good enough for the WWF he's not that talented
Billy kidman did it first
Did he? Point me to the story around that- id love to see it
@@JOBdOut think it was 04 smackdown ? Billy tries the shooting star press but botches the launch so when he comes down his knees hit chavo guerrero in the head knocking him out for 5 mins. After that the following weeks show him scared to do the move it ultimately leads to billy walking out on Paul London mid match for their tag titles
Well I'm gettin some wwe network time in during Christmas. Cheers
🤣😭🤣🤣
I hate lucha ropes 😂😂
