My credit score has consistently gone down ever since I took out a Merrick Bank credit card. That's even after I have NEVER missed a payment, ALWAYS pay off my entire balance each month (99% of the time), ALWAYS pay all my bills on time. It seems to me that credit scores are more a reflection of these agency's money paranoia than the consumer's payment history! I also get the feeling that these agency's actually enjoy attacking one's credit score...just say'n'...

I'm a 12 year old trying to learn about credit cuz as soon as I turn 14 ima start working, then I'll buy myself a credit card with my moms permission, and from then on I'll be working on my credit score
Good luck the younger the better bro I'm 14 so im a bit late but I'm more focused on investing
the best way to start is to piggyback on your mom's or dad's credit card if they let you. Don't be fooled by those telling you that you need to use a lot of credit and don't use credit for just anything. My friend has perfect credit and never bought a car with a car loan, he's a mechanic and just buys broken down cars and fixes them. Cars always loose value so using credit to get an expensive car is not a good idea at all. I'm a Mortgage broker and so I do home loans, some of the worst credit scores deal with people who take out expensive car loans. If you want to get a good mortgage when buying a house you'll want not only a good credit score (720's and up) but also make sure your debt to income ratio is below 43%. Your debt is your total monthly payments on loans such as house loan, car loan credit cards etc vs what you bring home.

So what would happen if I strategically took out loans from the bank for pretty much everything I needed but then again, already had the exact amount of money set aside to pay them back the exact amount I borrowed the very next day for all my payments? So like if I wanted to buy a new car, I could take a loan out while still having the money I already earned from working to pay for it? Or even like, with my bills, I could do the same thing, maybe?

This what I don't get. Cuz like why not just pay out right rather than pay that amount plus interest and other fees they tack on. Seems like credit scores are a scam. What if someone who hibitually pays late but is actually financially stable. Like someone who forgets or is lazy. Maybe they do it strategically. I think people put too much weight on credit scores. They don't get to see the full picture of a person.

Yes on paper credit score system sounds ,good... except we ignoring the fact that it forces people to take loans on regular basis and if you don't take loans then you have no loan history of making payments in time and therefore you can't buy anything important regardless if you want to do it through loans or cash lmao...also taking any loan means that you will always have to return more cash then you borrowed it directly additionally draining your income and" getting used to" taking loans one of the most terrible things you can do to yourself...Cuzz nothing makes you more bad with money then getting used to spending cash that you don't already have ,and being bad with cash means that you will live from paycheck to paycheck literaly regardless of your income ...no wonder average American does not have 500 bucks for unexpected expenses lol... The credit card scoring method that they are using needs to be revamped. One of the BSs that needs to be corrected is when you obtain a car loan, then pay it off on time after 4 years - one account is closed, which lowers your credit score. Even if it's a low-impact, why the score decreases? You're supposed to be rewarded for paying off your loan, not punished! This is a #1 BS!

A credit score is a way for private entities to control your financial future without any ability for you to fight it.

You determine your own credit score. The fact that private companies keep track of who does or does not pay their debts isn't the issue; the issue is with people who don't pay back their debts.
The Fico system of scoring in my opinion is garbage. Ask five lenders what your score is and you will get 5 different answers. The difference between the high and low score will be large as well. Serious credit reform is needed.

Why is my credit score 852 if it only goes to 850?
There are three different scoring systems that evaluate scores, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, and they have similar ranges but they are still different. However, none of those three go over 850, so whoever's providing you with your number is either a scam or using a completely different fourth system.
Pumpkin Spikes I got my score directly from the Equifax website. They list their scores as going to 900.
