After a month at home, I’m back on the road! This time, my journey takes me to China and Japan. In this vlog, I share my first experience flying with Himalaya Airlines and my initial impressions of Shanghai, China’s largest city.
My adventure began at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, where I took a 9 AM flight to Shanghai. The flight, booked through Trip.com, lasted 5 hours, and the airline provided us with biscuits and drinks for lunch. I slept most of the journey, waking up to the excitement of landing in Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 4 PM.
Upon arrival, the chilly 6-degree weather greeted me, but immigration was smooth and hassle-free. Impressively, the officers even appreciated my UA-cam channel! I withdrew some cash from an ATM and navigated my way to Nanjing Road using Shanghai’s efficient metro system. Taking Line 2, the ride from Pudong to Nanjing West Road included 18 stations and lasted about an hour.
I had pre-booked a hostel through Booking.com, located conveniently near Nanjing Road-a bustling area known for its shopping and vibrant atmosphere. After checking in, I ventured out to find some food and ended the day with much-needed rest, excited to explore Shanghai further in the coming days.
