How to Install LED Dip Bulbs (NO ERRORS!) - BMW F10/F11 (5 Series 2010 - 2017)

  • A quick guide I've made on how to install LED bulbs into your dip beam on your BMW F10/F11. Steps are probably similar for many other BMWs but cannot guarantee!
    This also works as a guide on how to change the dip beam bulb to halogen, and will also likely work for HID/Xenon.
    Any questions, please ask - and I'll do my best to answer!

    Fantastic, I couldn’t fit the backing plate on before , many attempts, cut knuckles and temper tantrums, and then you just said you glued them on before installation!😂 brilliant, I will attempt it again!👍

    Can you kindly explain to me what's the difference between your led with conversion or the led without conversion? I mean the square part between the led and connector.

    I replaced my F11 halogen bulbs with a pair of Novsight H7 LED headlight bulbs last year. I didn't even switch them on as I couldn't fit the round plastic cover back on to the headlight assembly after replacing the bulbs. I noticed your LED's were a similar size/shape to the Novsight LED's but your video only showed the cover on and not the process of putting it on. There's no way a cover can fit with the replacement LED lights in. How did you get round this?

      Nath Richard hello mate, not a problem - glad you found it useful!
      The headlights I went for were these ones;

      Slightly bluer than the OEM Headlights you get on the HID units in these cars but still a beautiful white - definitely worth doing

    I realize it's 8 months old now but can you remember what clips you got for the LEDs. Been looking at there seems to be sever types that look similar. Cheers

    Just a couple of quick questions
    1) is it necessary for all the bmws which in my case happens to be the 520d msports f10 to have hid bulbs?what if they are HID with ballast and all can they be replaced with leds and would the ballast have to be removed ?
    2) would you need to code the leds anyway? Because some of them say no coding needed error free etc online, and why did you code yours since they were working anyway when you tested them.
    🙂

      On your dash you will get error messages such as “dipped beam failure” although they are working fine. Coding them on won’t give you that message

    Dear friend, thank you very much for this video. It heleped me a lot. And have one more questinon. What type of bimmercode do you have? Is it something speical? I need to code the steering angel sensor, beacuse i had to replace it. I can see in your app in control Unit section - Steering Column Control Unit. I think, this is what I need for new steering sensor coding! But do not have this possibilty in my bimmercode app. :-(

    Thanks very much mate for sharing your process. How bright was the bulbs on actual road? Also, that bulb is really difficult to find as the most common are below 100W and below 20K Lumens...

    • @maxl7827
      @maxl7827 Рік тому

      Dont look at the watt and lumen numbers, they dont tell what is the best bulb. Also do not go above 55W per bulb.

    Hi, I've just bought the LED bulbs but I'm worried that 40000k lumens is too bright

    • @carmandan5414
      @carmandan5414  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for your comment - it’s not likely that the bulbs will be that brightness; a lot the ones sold online are stated as being ridiculous brightness but in reality are much lower. To put into context, the sun itsself emits 10k lumens per square foot - so for bulbs to emit 4x that is a big claim to make!

      Patrick Ndiziye nice one dude! The remap made such a difference - having a big heavy car like this hit a tad over 6 seconds is insane when you consider they’re powered by a 2.0 diesel!
      Enjoy mate

    Illegal to use within a halogen reflector casing due to the light pattern. Please don't do this, it sprays the light and dazzles drivers. If you have stock xenons, this upgrade is perfectly safe and legal.
