As Panamanian, I fall in love with this bird when I was at school. Panamenian kids are taught about the bird, and we are happy to have this eagle as symbol in our emblem. Sadly, some of us claim to love them but do actions that says the opposite, actions that don't help to keep their habitat. If you ever come to Panama we have a place where you can visit them and learn more about them. We are trying to protect this majestic and beautiful bird.
They MUST save this apex predator.

South-America as a whole, with many awesome and terrifying animals like the piranha, the jaguar, the caiman, the Giant Otter and my personal favorite animal of South-America: the anaconda. And the Harpy of course.
He couldn't hype this up any higher.

It really is!
I remember seeing the BBC documentary on these flying goliaths. What stood out for me was when they were adding more foliage to the nest. One, just using its beak, snapped off a small branch that must have been 3/4 to an inch thick as though it was just a cocktail stick.
It's not it's size that impresses so much. Even though it's huge. It is their sheer brute strength and power.
Hence for me, they are the No1 eagle in the world over the Philippines Eagle and the Stellas Sea Eagle.

Just sad to see the sloth take a swipe at the harpy and its was so slow the harpy didn't even have to do a matrix move.

🇧🇷They never fly high in the sky. When they catch their prey, the prey die almost instantly. Their nests may have almost three meters of diameter and always are located in very high, high trees. They maneuver amazingly among trees.🇧🇷
