Dominic scored the Outer Limits to bring out considerible on the edge of your seat angst in the viewing these television gems from our past Brilliant musical score pure genius great series great music
I saw this on TV in the UK in the late 80s/early 90s, very good series with some proper tension and peril in there. Rewatched it a few years ago and its still good.
Did not see this wonderful atmospheric show until recent times but truly brilliant show, full of paranoia and suspense where no one can be trusted. The story makes you believe this could happen, could have happened and perhaps will to anyone of us, the Invaders could already be here! Like the times of 60s America and the never ending Cold War they lived with. Being based in the 1960s makes it even better with the innocence and transition of the times. Roy Thinnes is brilliant as David Vincent and the show has a list of outstanding performances and guest appearances. When it comes to classic sci fi well this is or should be up their with the original Star Trek. Has an immense feel of paranoia with a Wonderful, scary, chilling atmospheric feel that modern day movies or television can never recreate or be. Simply a joy to watch. Please watch and enjoy this wonderful piece of classic tv at its very best.
Some of the plots were just amazing. The pilot was more or less the entire series in an episode. The last episode was really special, which I believe was the one with Susan Pleschette being the alien crossing lines. The end, to that end, was just so unpredictable and was very good for that reason. It did rather spoil things as to how you hoped it would go, and considering it was the series last, it was a very good ending. I liked the twist in the one episode too where the aliens allied with the humans.
@@charles2241 One of my favourites was "The Trial" where Vincent confronts the alien "parents" beside the water cooler and they take suicide pills and burn up in front of him.
@@lewisner Wow, sounds so radical since I haven't seen the series in at least three years and have forgotten quite a bit. One that sticks out in my mind now, which really had you worried for a while, was when Vincent was caught up in that alien illusion, where they had that city and he starts realizing something was screwy when he was driving for quite a while in that convertible with that love interest. I think the game was given away because she started saying some subtle messed up stuff.

The opening notes were originally composed by Frontiere as the theme for Joseph Stefano's unsold 1964 pilot "THE UNKNOWN" (the episode was presented on "THE OUTER LIMITS" as "The Forms of Things Unknown").
For some interesting non-television work by the great Dominic Frontiere, check out his collaboration with the late Dan Fogelberg in Dan's masterpiece "Netherlands."
Awesome recording---where did this come from? I worked on the DVD for the show along with Roy Thinnes (he's been a friend since 1987) and have been trying to get La La Land Records to release a soundtrack...was it from them?
No matter how old I get… this music always gives me chills!
Very haunting. Just like his Outer Limits work

I saw that name and immediately flashed over to that's guy who did the Outer Limits theme music.
The genius of Dominic Frontiere. 🎶

love this series. did you know they tried to launch a reboot with Scott bakula.
Yeah I did see it and it wasn't awful but was not needed.
Could have done with a few more seasons giving us some kind of conclusion.
Reboots are proof of cultural decline.
