I saw that haven't had a chance to watch it. I will tho how did you like it. I like it but it takes a bit to get dialed in. Did you get the 627 as well?
As a diy nice to see something that's gone wrong pity can't show some school boy errors understand painting customers cars this is impossible youtube is full videos with perfect finishes how its done not how it goes wrong.Great channel Thanks
Thanks for sharing all this with us Chris there is some invaluable info in the video which will help all us diy/hobby painters👌I think the Porphis 627 is a split tip version which atomises the clear very finely, I have the PRD-717 which is also a split tip but has the bigger gun body but I believe the internals like the tip, needle and aircap are the same on both guns, they are high quality guns but at an affordable price👌 Keep these videos coming brother🙏👍John UK
Yeah I really like the guns! I feel they are really well built. They have a state of the art facility producing these guns you should see it. Some videos are out there on their facility it's pretty impressive. As always appreciate the comment brother!
I love how I know all these things but I just click on the video everytime you post,to make sure I ACTUALLY know everything (I've been doing this since july 2023)
@@88Painterman I've never said I know everything. I just know the basis he teaches (tips and tricks too) - I like to mąkę sure I actually know everything he talks about, before I decide to DIY a fender for example. I've never underestimated your or anyone's knowledge. You've started painting 19 years before I was born sooo.. 🤣
I'm just finishing my first job, a 25 year old Tundra. Number one tip in this video (for those with little experience) is don't do it all at once, especially the clear coat. Break it down to panels were you do not move your feet when you spray, moving your feet will make it very difficult to maintain a consistent distance and speed.
Oh i love your content with your way of explaining a 6 year old would be able to do repairs!! I would also love a t-shirt but it would be too expensive to get it shipped to South Africa
As always, Chris another great video. Thanks for taking the time to do this for all of us enjoy watching and learning the little tips and tricks you have to teach us.
Always learn something each time I watch one of your videos. You commented on painting the car in sections. I’m a new DIYer. I’ve got an MGB that I’m painting a dark green solid color, clear coat, no metallics, and I wonder if I will have problems painting the back half, doors, hood and front half separately? I hate to take the car all apart because it seems it takes forever to get it back together.
Practice panels. I absolutely love having an old fender mounted on a scrap piece of plywood to practice and experiment on. My backyard car paint jobs come out better now. I just grab some "junk" paint from the local paint store and go to town.
I really like your videos I'm 16 years old and I've been doing body work off and on for 30 years I was a drywall hanger now I'm doing body work because I don't know I don't have nothing to do
Is tacking after the final layer of base , just before the clear good thing with metallic colors? I've heard stories that metallic particles can move. Even if the base had flashed.
Really love to see a video on tip size selection for spraying clears and base coat. For instance if the TDS says 1.4 to 1.6 which side of that recommendation would be best? Does this make a difference whether it's solid color or metallic?
@@GarageNoise ok, i will give it a shot, I was between 12-15 thought if i went higher it would dry out too much. I will play with the settings, thanks for the advice
Clear not long maybe an hour depending on temp. Reduced base much longer if you have it capped off. A week or longer as long as it's not got catalyst in it.
When spraying clear, how do you control the over spray. When spraying clear, the over spray goes up in the air, then falls back down into the clear. Any suggestions? Also, i see the fans in the background are off, and the door is open wow. No bugs?
Great videos! I have a 1988 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 and need to restore the paint back to original color- Oxford White with clear coat. Wanted to reach out and inquire your thoughts and potential deal to have you help me out. I’m located in eastern North Carolina and willing to transport car. Please let me know, I can send pics of the car currently
The roof was hammered like the hood. It really could have been replaced. He did a great job just some minor push marks we needed to take care of. I've got another video coming on the roof repair and paint.
Bro you got their compressor why you still don't have an air feed mask on your face you for half face with some black label filters with I don't know what is that filter I bought recently - 3M VERSAFLO TR600 with speedglass backpack I wish I bought that shxt years ago I fell nothing and I don't need shave anymore got nice fresh air send to my mask perfect combo with speedglass backpack
@@GarageNoise get or iwata air feed mask if you have additional slot in compressor or get 3M VERSAFLO TR-600 and backpack for it 3m belt sucks I bought speedglass backpack for tr600 I wish I got this stuff sooner no more shaving or face fit tests :) I use for both sanding and spraying lovely stuff battery last 8h easily
Love the colour beautiful looking paint job👍
Thanks 👍

Merry Christmas!!
Brother that was a great great video
Awesome! Thank's brother!
I used the PRD 717 in my latest video, I’m gonna play with some more settings

Probably not being a solid color. I always like to break it up by sides. I do a whole side at a time. Then roof and hood I do together.
Practice panels.
I absolutely love having an old fender mounted on a scrap piece of plywood to practice and experiment on.
My backyard car paint jobs come out better now.

I'm about to buy that Clear and I was very scared because they gave me a lot of bad reviews of it but I see that you put it very well❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bummer about the mistakes but thank you for sharing corrections AND all the technical details!!
Appreciate the support brother!

What color primer do you recommend using for a red color coat?
Nice looking work
Thanks 👍
Great video as always. Chris, what uv light did you buy from Amazon? Wanting to try that colad uv putty. Thanks
Just a cheap flashlight one. This is the one I got it works well.

I'll be getting into some uv primer soon tho!
@GarageNoise thanks for getting back with me on that. Appreciate it

What psi do you recommend spraying base coat at? I struggled spraying base, but clearcoat I lay it down pretty smooth.
Typically between 15-20psi depending on paint gun
@@GarageNoise ok, i will give it a shot, I was between 12-15 thought if i went higher it would dry out too much. I will play with the settings, thanks for the advice
Is the porpoise better than the black widow?
Both are great guns, it's really a personal preference. I perfer the Porphis with a slight edge because it operates slightly better at lower psi
How long will base and clear last (stay useable) in the 3M container? As always, thanks for all the tips you throw out in your videos.
Clear not long maybe an hour depending on temp. Reduced base much longer if you have it capped off. A week or longer as long as it's not got catalyst in it.
Is that the Dodge PAU color code?
I believe so but not positive.

Also, i see the fans in the background are off, and the door is open wow. No bugs?
Is this gun a slow gun ?
Most painters use Thinner..I use Ruduccer based on Temps
Most painters? Pros paint 5 days a week and definitely use the reducer recommended by their paint supplier.
How can we contact you if we have questions?

Can't go wrong with a w400 a good budget friendly one is the kiwami 4
