- 1,700 MILES… that’s how far we had to drive to get to the entrance of Big Bend National Park in Texas. Wow! 1,700 miles… 3 days of driving… 2 Cracker Barrels and a Walmart… A Bucee first and a near head-on collision on I-10! Yep! That was how we started our trip west.

Nice video shows what it takes to do what the cruise companies call a repositioning cruise.
Never thought of it that way, good analogy.
This was pretty cool👍lots of good information. .I am glad you are all safe..thank you for sharing..
Peace and love to you three..
🤗😁😊❤🙏
Thank you so much, we appreciate you watching.
That was a great drive. Thanks for taking me along. Enjoy Big Bend and stay safe.
We appreciate you following along.
Enjoy Marfa, Davis Mountains, big clouds and amazing night skies!
Thanks for the suggestions.
What a great road trip and no problems . Fantastic!! Love the music and the songs . That’s a lot of miles ? I’m waiting for this next adventure to get started. Thank you for sharing this road trip with me. As always BS & BK
You are so welcome, we appreciate you following along.
We went to Bucees for the first time in Florida last month. The brisket sandwiches were awesome (we stopped again on the way home for a second run.). We got some yummy Muscadine jelly. (Insert Happy Dance here.) My Dad’s Mom used to made it....yum! I’m glad y’all are OK....crazy drivers out there. I hope they got that guy. (Jane)❤️🙏🏻
We’ll have to try the brisket next time, it sure looked good and the muscadine jelly. Thanks so much for watching.
I took my Revel to Big Bend last year. I can’t wait to hear how you like it. I loved it!!
We loved it too.
I just did the reverse trip from Austin to FL, with my daughter and her cat. Love seeing it all again, especially that bridge over the swamp. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome and thank you for watching.
Thank you. Great sights, how about showing your van the setup the wet bath. Etc.
keep on Vanning
We have shown the van before but we will be glad to show it again. Just do not want to bore everyone. Thanks for the suggestion.
Loved the video and the music. Thanks for taking us with you on your trip. Look forward to more adventures and Tuesday's updates. You are ready doing great editing your videos.
We appreciate you following along and thank you for the kind comment.
Looking forward to seeing Big Bend National Park next week in your video. Have a great week.
Sorry we are late responding, we’ve not had a lot of cell phone coverage this past week.
Wow what amazing drive. I’m enjoying the trip with you guys and Maggie. Can’t wait to start traveling again🥰🙏🏻👏
Thanks so much for following along.
I love Big Bend NP and I love VanTrekking so can’t wait till next week!
Thank you, we appreciate your comment.
Welcome to Texas!! You are going to love it here and Big Bend.
It was a new and awesome place to visit and we loved it.
Maggie is so cute❕
The food looks very appetizjng. Thanks for sharing the stunning sunset sky.
Looking forward to the Bend park.
We appreciate you watching.
I hope you had better weather in Big Bend. Hopefully our Texas hospitality was spot on!
We had all kinds of weather in Texas, everything except rain. But the hospitality was spot on.
lotta driving!! glad you have some fun on the way.. looking forward to what's up at Big Bend!
It was a lotta of driving for sure, but so worth it.
Please 🙏 stay safe.... following you guys on the road virtually.... Maggie is so calm with her Mommy 🥰🥰🥰 I see that you guys stopped by our Buccees where we live 👍🏻 I truly loved watching you guys as if I am traveling with you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ again, praying for your safe travels.
Thank you for the prayers. You have a great Buc-ee’s, it was such a fun experience visiting for the first time. We appreciate you following along.
Hi! Your journey is beautiful! It looks like the puppy likes it too! Good roads and good trips! 👍
Thank you so much. We appreciate you watching.
Texas folks love Winter Texans. We loved Texas especially the RGV
All the Texas folks we meet were great. No rattlers thank goodness.
Would love to hear about your plans for out west! Eat some hash brown casserole for me! Poor Maggie looks so sad she can’t go in the Cracker Barrel! Safe travels!
We kind of make plans as we travel and this trip was no different. We will try to share a map of all the places we visited. Thanks for watching.
Enjoy your trip. Looking forward to following along.
We appreciate you following along.
Another great video guys! Can't wait to see the next one. Love Maggie, she looks and acts like one of my pups :o)
Thanks, we appreciate you watching.
The drive was amazing with the different landscapes, not to mention exciting there for a bit. Glad you guys made it there safe.
We always love to watch landscapes change when you are driving that far, it was pretty amazing. Thanks so much for watching.
You guys are troopers with those long driving days!! I'm such a wimp I can drive no longer than 3-4 hours a day so it takes me forever to get where I'm going...and I have to throw in a few 2-night stays to boot. Enjoy Texas. I live in San Antonio and ❤❤❤this big beautiful state. I was also in awe of that long, long bridge ---
I wouldn’t call you a wimp you are just enjoying the journey. I’m not sure why we are always in such a hurry, it may be time to slow down.
That was fun watching your drive on 10. Took us back to 2019. But we need to get you a dash cam for those high speed chases.
A dash cam may be in our future. Do you guys have one?
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle Yes, we put them in all our vehicles.
You three even make a long road trip drive interesting. Loved your tip about planning for places to stay the night and choosing 3 at different locations. I have always located one only to arrive and not be comfortable with the area or the timing isn’t right. Smart thinking guys! I also want to thank you for making Bailey, our miniature schnauzer, a happy traveler again. She has t been happy traveling since we downsized from a class A to a 24’ Winnebago Navion. I showed my husband how your Maggie rides up front between the two you. He put a cooler between the seats, anchored it, put a soft bed on top and now she’s a happy girl! Thanks again! Hope you are having a great time out west and stay safe!
So glad Bailey is happy again… traveling is so much more enjoyable when our pups are happy.
Those long drives are exhausting but the reward is awesome! Can’t wait to see what y’all have for next week!!
We couldn’t agree more… the drive was well worth it.
Wow! We love Buc-ees; they opened one in our hometown, and we have become experts. Can’t wait to see more from your trip out west.
We were really surprised with Buc-ee’s, it was so much more than we expected. Thanks for watching.
Wow! We just did that drive, but in about two months 🤣
We probably did it way to fast…
Another great video. We do the same kind of planning on finding Cracker Barrel locations ahead.
Cracker Barrel’s are the best…
Number one today....yay! Thankful that you are okay!
Yay, thanks for being number one!
Wow glad you got over and thank god he got off the interstate. Head on hits don’t end well, I’ve seen the end results. Great video though and dinner looks amazing. ✌🏼
Interstate driving is scary at times and you have to act quickly. Thanks for watching.
Wow! That guy was crazy-Glad you’re ok!
Thanks, we appreciate you watching.
As a family member use to say, “to be continued.” Patiently waiting for more adventure, after a good nite’s sleep of course, 😊👍.Be safe.🚗🐕🇺🇸
Yes, there is so much more to come.
Now that was haul even got to see Lynn behind the wheel. ...Looking forward to seeing what Big Bend is all about. Happy Trails
Long hauls are about the only time I drive. Owen likes to drive but no one should put that many hours behind the wheel.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle we're on a roadtrip thru Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle and Texas Hill Country and my wife keeps asking....Do you want me to drive? Guess it's a guy thing.....Happy Trails
hello hello! just want to say hi! camping season is comming on for us, less then 2 months! oh and I stumble on an old video of you about levelling the RV, the Truma application still exist, very happy about this! take care and happy tails! :)
We use that app just about every time we feel we're not level. Works like a charm. 👍
Go West young man! I'm glad Buc-ees is expanding. I'd love to browse around in there one day. Looking forward to see where you're going next!
We were pleasantly surprised at Buc-ees, it was a good way to break up the trip. Thanks for watching.
Chuy's and Rudy's are great! But if your return trip takes you through Houston route yourself by Ninfa's. It's usually on the "best Tex-Mex food" list for the state! Worth seeking out for sure.
Thanks for the suggestions, we’ll put Rudy’s and Ninfa’s on our list for next time.
P.S. We love Buc-ee's Brisket....yummy! Can't wait to learn of your adventures at Big Bend National Park!
Everyone is saying how good the brisket is, we’ll have to try it next time.
Excellent episode! I slept in Buc-ee's, Circle K and FLA rest stops in between booked campsites during my last road trip, and it was very convenient, and I felt safe. I'm still looking for a site in the Keys in mid-January. I may have to bite the bullet and do an $80. tent site. Looking forward to seeing Texas! Peace & Prayers out for you guys.
The keys are a hard place to book. I didn’t know you could stay at Buc-ee’s or Circle K.
Welcome to the Great State of Texas! We live in North Central Texas. South of Ft. Worth and Dallas. Lots to see in this state.
Texas is huge… we enjoyed our time there.
Loved watching this video. I made this trek earlier in the year in February. I drove from Florida to Texas to visit RV owners that I had only met online and wanted to meet in person who lived in Texas. I drove across that same long crazy bridge in Louisiana. When I saw the road signs with LA and a number at first I thought that was Los Angeles and then I laughed knowing that it was a highway in Louisiana. I went across some of the great tall bridges and since I am a solo traveler I could not take videos so your video is a great memory for me to see. I have been in Texas visiting new friends and staying at campgrounds and weathering out the cold weather at times. All of this in February and March. Loved the Texas sunsets and staying in the Corps of engineer campgrounds using my senior America the beautiful pass and getting electricity and water for about $15 a night near a beautiful lake. Something to check out while you’re in Texas. Also enjoyed visiting Fort Worth and seeing a rodeo. Safe travels as you adventure on. Thanks for sharing this video.
Sounds like you are having a great trip. We had all kinds of weather too, one day it’s in the 80’s and the next it’s cold and windy. But we loved every minute. Safe travels.
Hey Owen, my friend, enjoyed the video. Sandy and I are out in Arizona for a few more days. It’s been a blast. Long ways from good ‘Ol NC. SAFE TRAVELS FOR YOU GUYS !!
I hope you enjoy Arizona and have a safe trip home.
Hey! We took in some of the same sights. We went on to San Francisco CA and are now making the turn back east. Be safe! Enjoy!
Safe travels. We appreciate you watching.
Welcome to Texas!!! You passed right by us on I-10, we live in the Orange, Texas area on the Louisiana border. I’m curious to see how big bend is. We’ve been twice before but it’s been a few years. When you said ya stayed at Walmart in Del Rio I cringed! So brave. How was it? Scketchy? Hope you enjoy our wonderful state and stay safe. ( watch out for rattle snakes). 😳😖
Del Rio wasn’t bad at all. But on the way out we passed a beautiful lake that we could have stayed, but it was just one night so it was ok.
Nice episode! We just came back home to KY in the opposite direction you all took through Del Rio a couple of weeks ago. BBNP is a very beautiful place. Look forward to your next video. Texas has very nice state parks as well.
We totally agree Texas state parks are great.
Good travels
Thanks, we appreciate you following along.
Enjoyed similar drive from Ohio to Utah last fall. Lots of driving to get there…but soooo worth it!!!
I totally agree it has been so worth it!
Nice adventure. Love Cracker Barrel. Where’s mine? Never been to a Buc-Wes. We don’t have them here in Vegas.
Hope they will get them here someday. Glad you made it safely to Texas.
Cracker Barrel is a great place to spend the night while you are on the road.
Wow what a trip you guys. We just got back from Port Aransas Tx last week after spending two moths down there. First tim. Going back next year. Big Bend would be interesting to go to. Hey have a good time. See ya next week.
We probably need to slow down.
I thought I heard y’all honk while passing through Lafayette, La. on I-10. Have a safe trip and hope to cross paths on the road soon.
The Revel has such a wimpy horn the people in front of us couldn’t hear it. Thanks for watching.
mpg on that van is pretty dang good compare to these Class A, and C- ---the tunnel there in Mobile isn't too bad at all- that I10 in Louisiana pretty rough- 18 miles of that bridge-- Bonnie and Clyde lol
No Bonnie and Clyde here, just two old people taking a road trip 😂.
Thank you so much for doing a Big Bend National Park series. My wife's retiring in June and we have the Big Bend on the bucket list. I've cashed in my 401K and hopefully that'll buy us enough fuel to get here! 😆
Congratulations. Wouldn't count on having enough $$. Diesel was expensive there even before the price increases. 😂
You got lucky at Buckees the ones I’ve always been to are so crowded you can’t even think straight!
I didn’t realize how lucky we were with Buc-ee’s, it was a great experience.
Just went over that bridge over swamp that lasts forever on our way to Georgia to see our daughter! That is one amazing ride, isn't it? Had at least three dead stops on I-10 going east... hope you didn't have such trouble on your way west!
BTW.... Maggie deserves bacon!
No, we didn’t have any stops on the way out on I-10 and you are right Maggie does deserve bacon. Thanks for watching.
I often stay at Cracker Barrel on high mile days. Haven’t had the van to Texas yet!
We always had good experience staying at Cracker Barrel’s, they are always just off the interstate which makes them super easy.
As my husband says you are definitely off the grid in Big Bend. And hopefully y’all met some of the interesting people out there.
We did meet some great people which is always our favorite thing. Thanks for watching.
We have been trying to get to Big Bend for the last three years… will this be the year… IDK 🤷♂️… enjoy we be watching
It is a long haul but well worth it.
I wish I knew you were headed to Big Bend since we visited last year in April… there is great Mexican restaurants in Terilingua and don’t miss Big Bend State Park too. The park is huge an d be sure you select areas of interest before you hike or sight see. We wanted to raft the Rio Grande but water level was too low; highly recommend it if the water level permits. Have fun we’re jealous…hi to Ms Maggie
We do need to figure out how to let people know where we are going so we can get some great ideas of things to do, we will work on that. The Rio Grande is still really low, we would have loved to raft down it. Thanks for watching.
Ha ..Ha…”Let’s get some of Buc e’s nuts”……AKA Beaver Nuggets!
Those beaver nuggets gets pretty hard after a couple of days…
been there... Big Bend is a long way from nowhere...................enjoy
You are correct… it’s the way we like it.
Great channel full of tips….have you had any mechanical problems with the sprinter; DEF fluid, DPF getting clogged ? EGR sensor? I’m put money down on a 2023 and heard many things
WOW!!! im tired....that is ALOT of driving!! We've driven that route....it seems like it takes 3 days to just to get across Texas. Going to Bucces for the first time is like going to Disneyland for the first time!! I hope you get to check out Santa Elena Canyon....it was my (carrie) favorite part of Big Bend.
We did get to check out Santa Elena, I can see why it was Carrie’s favorite. Thanks so much for watching.
I75. Paines prairie. Boring I-10. Tallahassee. Hurricane Michael ravaged I-10. Right past our exit. Did you stay in the Pcola Cracker Barrel?? Love your adventures. Thanks for taking you with us.
Thanks for following along.
If you get a chance, drive the Pontchartrain Causeway near New Orleans. It's 23.8 miles and the world's longest over water. Great video.
Thanks for the suggestion, we will put in on our list. Thanks for watching.
I don’t envy your long hauls but still need to make time myself. Once my RV arrives, I’ll amble. BTW, do you ever check your fuel mileage? Owen, I thought I was the only guy who used “feelin’ froggy” as a part of conversation. 👍 So, you, Lynn, and Maggie are Waltzing Across Texas! Cool! Dance on kids! Beware of crazies on I-10! Whoa! And Texas was always miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles for me. The answer to your question is why not go West? For me it’s just a great road trip. I always enjoy your videos. Maybe I’ll get to take you along on my travels sometime soon.
The “Out West” trip was more amazing than we could have ever hoped for. We look forward to following along on your travels.
Happy to see you made it! Fun to watch the adventure and remember shared stories. Looking forward to learning about Big Bend.
It was an adventure for sure. It was a very long drive but well worth it. Are you guys still in Florida?
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle Leaving tomorrow for Alabama.
Thanks for the ride a long guys!
How do we thank Cracker Barrel for all they do for River? Other than buying breakfast.
I’m not sure how to repay Cracker Barrel for a free and safe place to stay, it is a god send in so many ways.
Last month when we were in Texas, fuel was cheaper in smaller towns and Bucee .
We did find that Buc-ee’s had great fuel prices.
Hi guys, just wanted to find out what your making for gas mileage in the Revel. Happy Tails!
We got 15-16 mpg on this trip.
Don't know what it is about Louisiana, but our MH was hit head on by a wrong way driver on I-20. Welcome to Texas.
Wow, glad you are ok from your accident. It is scary driving on the interstates these days.
The view is a lot different from Florida. We are looking forward to eating our way thru Texas. Love the idea of cracker docking but I agree with Maggie I am going to need some of that bacon. Happy tails and y'all be super careful out there.
We love watching how the landscapes change, it’s pretty amazing. Have fun eating your way thru Texas, there’s a lot of great food.
Glad you found each other after losing each other in the store.
It was a huge store and quit entertaining.
I've been thinking about driving from Florida to texas by myself for the first time ever. Do u recommend I take a friend or could I do it on my own as far as it being safe?
It would be an adventure for sure… there are some crazy roads in the bigger cities. Just be really careful and always be aware of surroundings. This is Lynn, I do think I would want to do it by myself.
Never heard "putting on the dog" before! Do you ever stay overnight at Loves, TA, Pilot, etc.? If not, why not?
“Putting on the dog” is a saying from the movie Sweet Home Alabama, for some reason Owen like to repeat saying from movie’s. We don’t usually stay at TA’s due to the noise.
I don't think I've ever seen a Buc-ee's fuel station without any cars, what time did you get there?
I’m thinking we hit Buck-ee’s mid morning.
Also I can get lost all by myself in there.
If you are headed from Florida to Texas anytime soon can i please tag along with my 2 cats? I just need a ride there 🙏🏼
What is it you use for bug spray
It kind of depends on where we are, didn’t really need any on this trip.
How are the fuel prices in around the park? DFW area has dropped to 3.94….
Y’all be careful down there, u never know if u might run across a rattler that doesn’t know it’s winter!!!
When we were there fuel was in the $4 range, higher than normal but not outrageous.
What is the make of your Rv?
Our RV is a Winnebago Revel.
Are you going to California?
Yes, California is in our plans.
Is your continuity a bit off? You showed driving through Mobile and then Buc-ee’s ? But it’s before Mobile. Don’t you just hate viewers like me? LOL. Enjoy your videos. A agree with the pecans but they can break your dentures if you have them LOL
It may have been off a little on when showed Buc-ee’s…. Our bad. Those pecans were way to sweet for me and the longer they sit the harder they get.
I10 is not your friend!
We totally agree. It was a scary drive.
