Hey there! Very detailed review as always. Just a quick query: can NOS Oliver Peoples sunglasses still be found? I am looking for models Aric, Linford and Victory. I'd steer clear of eBay though, don't know exactly why. Anyhow, where would you start if you were me?
I bought the Oliver Peoples Merceaux few days ago but have to send them back. The built quality is absolutely awful, the left hinge is very stiff and tends to get stuck at certain angles, the right hinge is the other scenario, very loose even though the screw is tightened up. The hinges also squeak. Ordered a pair of Oliver Sixties Sun as well, same 7 barrel hinges, same stiff, sticky hinge movements, absolutely not smooth at all. Very disappointing. Overall I dont understand the hype around this brand. I have found Persol makes much better quality aceate frames and more comfortable as well.
@wadsworth2351 I'm not saying this is the case with every pair and models but this is my experience with the last few orders , also had an OP Rorke a few months ago and the hinge had exactly the same problem. However ShadeReview never seems to have problem with an Oliver Peoples sunglasses, in fact I ordered them because he's over the moon with every single Oliver Peoples he reviews. So it must be just my bad luck, but 3 faulty frame within 2 months is really something to consider.
@wadsworth2351 I didn't want to upset you, If you really fancy a style from their portfolio, you can always go ahead and order it directly from their website. They do offer 45 days return so in the worst case scenario you can simply send it back, just like I did.
It’s an interesting colour. Amberish with some orange and you can also notice some green tone as well. It’s supercool on the outside too. The blue mirror has become way too common and popular nowadays… I think the Lava Red is the “new blue”.
@@NoizeTank Yep. The other mirrored lenses, the base colour for Maui Sunrise is the Maui Rose lens, the base colour for the Blue Hawaii is Neutral Grey and for MauiGreen the base colour is also Neutral Grey. My next colour on the list to try is the MauiGreen, as far as I know it’s got some lovely rose hue when looking through it.
Hey, I read one customer review saying that this model pressed into her cheek or something. Do you also experience that with these frames? Thank you.

I have always wondered what it's like looking through the lava. Is it gray, amber, rose or green?

@@attilab.2818Thank you. 🙏. I must check them out, then.
The red mirror coating is applied to the base HCL Bronze lens to make up the Hawaii Lava lens.

Could someone explain to me whether Hawaii Lava is gradient to the wearer?
Nice guy 😍😍😍😍😍😍
