I saw a lot of Broadway plays as a kid as my parents are originally from NYC. My GF and I saw Wicked last time we were in NYC and loved it. Will have to go checkout some of the Disney plays next time we visit NYC. We will book a Sarah Funky Tour too 😃
Sarah, I'm from Boston, but a HUGE NY Broadway Fan..Been going to NYC and Broadway Shows since the Early 70's..!! Thanks for all you do to promote my "Second Favorite City In The World"...!! 😃😃😃
This is helpful, thanks! My girlfriend and I live right across the river in NJ and saw our first two Broadway shows last year- The Lion King and Aladdin, and now we are hooked on the whole Broadway experience. We wanted to incorporate places to eat and views to see going forward, so this is perfect! Tomorrow's itinerary: Summit One, Bryant Park/Library, Skylark, and then a matinee of Mrs. Doubtfire..we are so excited! (also, we loved Rise NY a few weeks ago and want to go again for the ride at the end!)
FYI for those trying to choose a show, keep in mind that this vid is sponsored by Disney on Broadway (it says so in the description). Nothing wrong with that, however Lion King and Aladdin are FAR from the best shows on Broadway. Typically my suggestions go as follows... Phantom of the Opera for the classic, iconic Broadway experience Beetlejuice or Moulin Rouge if you want some flashy Broadway spectacle with catchy songs (Beetlejuice music is original, MR is mashups of hit songs) Hadestown if you want the overall BEST show on Broadway, as long as you don't mind the spectacle to be a bit smaller. It's an intimate show, but production overall (story, staging, music, etc) is the best thing on Broadway at the moment (according to myself and manyyyy people in the Broadway community)
My son just saw his first Broadway show this year ( Aladdin ) we got free tickets from my son's school for going to the school's Parent Teacher Association zoom meeting.
Hi Sarah, I'm from Brazil. My family and I will visit NYC on August. It will be the first travel we'll do to USA. We are all really excited. Thanks for all the tips.
Hi Sarah, Following your channel for some time. Last week I went to NYC with my wife en 2 daughters. We had a really great time! Thanks for all the really good tips and advices in all your vids. We went to the Burgary, Bleecker Str. Pizza, Top of the Rock, cycling in Central Park, Dumbo and lots more! Only thing missing was a meet and greet with you ;-) Love from The Netherlands
I lived in NYC all my life and there were times where I had no idea what to do in nyc accept going to parks and restaurants but watching this videos gave me multiple ideas on what to do in NYC. Thank you so much Sarah!
I'm definitely excited about seeing the Broadway shows...I have just recently purchased tickets for beetlejuice, hangmen, American buffalo, little shop of horrors, americana, and book of mormon! I will definitely check out the cookie place as well! Thanks to the recommendation beautiful lady😘😘😘 xox
I recently just completed another trip to NYC with a nephew and tried two places you've recommended: Schmackery's and Bleecker Street Pizza. Both were amazing and the best we've ever had
Wow them cookies ! 🍪..Great info Sarah 👍..my new york adventure was cancelled but just today back on thanks to American Airlines! ..could you do on clip on where not to eat if possible..brill video yet again
The only Broadway shows that I’ve ever seen were Lion King, Matilda, Aladdin, and The Christmas Spectacular even though it’s technically not considered as a Broadway show. The only show that I genuinely want to see more than anything is Hamilton…..that is my obsession, the music and costumes are everything even though all of the original cast members except for one person, left the production.
Miguel Cervantes is currently Hamilton and I got to see him in Hamilton in Chicago. He is INCREDIBLE. (I also want to see the current cast because of Krystal Joy Brown and Euan Morton)
@@SarahFunky Yeahh!! I really love your videos Sarah , you make them with passion and enthusiasm. That's why I like them. Keep doing like that please!!
"The Lion King - I'm not saying that because I used to work here..." Well, maybe she's saying it because Disney paid to sponsor the video... Is it safe to assume everything Sarah recommends is similarly biased?
This was such a weird video. You spent longer describing the taste of the food you got than actually talking about things to do. I'm not going to order the same thing that you did, there's no reason to go into it so much 😂
What are you most excited about doing? Comment below and let me know!
Definitely want to see a show. Wow you on Broadway!! Bravo 👏
Flying across NYC in the historical museum 😎
Watching the Book of Mormon again :-)
I’m there 29 th May do you have a link for a subway map and a map of New York I could use offline please Sarah love your videos by the way x

I would love to come back to NYC, it's been a long while. I'm in Chicago and we get the Broadway plays. But she convinced me with the food.

Agreed. Even though those shows may be great, this still seems like a shill for Disney. Broadway is WAY more than that.
What about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?
Hi Sarah, you create a spectacular feel good in the video! Thank you ❤
I’ve never been to a Broadway show; thanks for the tips for when I do go! Great video as always 👍👍

10:55 "It tastes like cornbread."
The folks at Lincoln Center might have a quarrel with the "all Broadway theaters" map.
How have you been
Thanks for commenting about the masks guidelines …. Are any locations in NY requiring proof of vaccination??
Where online do you purchase Broadway tickets.. I looked up phantom of the opera and it said $59..that didn't seem right.
Great video! My daughter and I are visiting New York in July. I was thinking of seeing Phantom of the Opera. Would you recommend it?
