I had the pleasure of picking up George from the airport for a concert in San Diego years ago. An incredibly humble and soft spoken man. But man that voice reverberated throughout our congregation like nothing I've ever heard! To this day he's my favorite gospel singer.
You know you are killing it when you have legends fixated on every single note. Those people weren't loud because they were so in tune with the performance and the soulfulness sound of the group.

the look on the faces of the Gaithers is just so fascinating. Amazing singer are wowed by other amazing singers....breathtaking. My two favorite singing entities in one place. Imagine the amazement and excitement of Angels in heaven? Oh man, I wish i make it to heaven to hear them sing hallelujah!

George Pendergrass was blessed with an amazing voice. I would cut off my left arm if it would give me an opportunity to praise God with a voice like that!
Wow this is one of the finest jobs of singing that I have ever heard. {with no music behind them} These guys should be big Stars with all of their talent. They can really sing together "just like it is supposed to sound when it is done right".

that's Robert C Guy he took duanes bass part so duane could take tenor, check out the beyond a doubt album and listen to "and my God will meet all ur needs" for low notes buy him
Robert Guy looks really young here... Probably he was in his 20's when he joined the Acappella(certainly younger that the others who was probably about 30)... One of the youngest singers to join Acappella...

My brother, l don't think the message would stick into my head the way it does...for over 30 years now, if it was sung by a less talented singer.
