      In Judaism you can have 3 days in 26 hrs. 1hr of the previous day the 24 hrs of the main day and 1 hrs from the third day. As long as you have at least an hour in a day you can count that as "a day"

    God cannot make a new covenant for eternal life unless we are workers together with God. He will not force Himself on anyone.. the new covenant is necessary to get back eternal life because we all have broken the first covenant through disobedience, Gen 2,16,17..if a person is unwilling to adhere to the conditions of God's covenant which is obedience to His law, the covenant for eternal life will be revoked of forfeited. These two covenants run side by side today as Heb 8,13 says. Those who are not happy to have God's law in their hearts will.pass away with the old covenant. Obedience to God's law are the conditions for Jesus the Life Saver to give back the eternal life we lost in Eden. Rev 22,14. The gospel is so simple. Obey God and live or disobey and die eternally.

    When I hear great teachers like Mr. Wright. who talks about the Spirit coming upon those who believe and are cleansed...Ringing in my ears is "What about those who for Millennia and apart from the Roman Empire where Christ was preached"....have not heard one word about this Messiah. This haunts me and undermines my faith.

      Jo Anne, there are also many who never understand either through mental handicap or child mortality rates etc. The scriptures seem to emphasize the path to God through Christ for those who hear now, (the elect, the predestined etc) but also to a lesser degree those Christ and the saints will rule and reign over when he returns. Scripture strongly suggests there will be repentance in the next age. "To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance." Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10-11; Isaiah 45:23 In Romans the Greek word used to swear (or confess KJV) "exomologeō", conveys the meaning to:
      a. acknowledge openly and joyfully
      b. to one's honour: to celebrate, give praise to
      c. to profess that one will do something, to promise, agree, engage
      ~ Strong's
      It seems that many do not teach these and many other similar passages due to the fear it will lead some to put off commitment to Christ now. However, that is not our concern. Proclaiming the gospel and letting it do it's work on the hearts that are prepared to accept it's truth now as God draws them will convert those predestined to in this age. We don't know who those individuals are and must proclaim it to all we can through word and deed.
      I hope that helps you Jo Anne.

    Bishop I have two more reforms to the Reformation doctrine. I know you have relooked at Paul, so have I where I find in Romans double justification is his gospel, two-fold declaration of righteousness which we find confirmed in Philippians 3:9. The first declaration of righteousness is by God for our faith in Christ, by God's grace he justifies the believer, that he might be just and be seen as the justifier. Then through faith in Christ, that is complete trust and duty to fulfil that trust, we can become righteous ourselves and having our own righteousness by obeying Christ be judged by our works for Salvation. This brings heaven and earth into one, heaven on earth, because life on earth would follow the life of Jesus. It is the power of the resurrection that brings heaven and earth together, the cross was essential but not the means, but through the Holy Spirit sent in the name of Jesus Christ we Hall be made truly righteous in the eyes of Christ.
    We are gifted a right-standing with God for our faith in Christ, but our own righteousness through regeneration, Christ is now our sole judge in heaven as John 5:22 and Romans 2:16. Double justification.
    The other reform is Praeterism. Any Atheist with some knowledge of the holy Bible knows that Jesus promised to return in his disciples lifetime, yet Christianity waits for him, why? If you simply trust in him by faith you know he returned as Matthew 24:29-30, as predicted in Acts 1:11, come again into heaven.
    Christianity must unite soon, and the atmosphere is perfect to relook at scripture, because of the stupid divisions eminating from past ego's and traditions. I have of course the passages of scripture analysed ready to convince you, but suspect from your teaching you may already agree.

    Mr. Super N.T.W. knows all about politics and injustice so that he can tell. And he thinks that all Christians have to agree with him so he can speak in the name of Christianity. (In reality Christians are very divided on politics and social issues) And he thinks its our job to critique the world and that this would be the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. What a tragedy! Its is by the preaching of the Good News about Jesus that conviction comes. Rebuking the world and politics may be the calling of some but certainly not of the whole Church.

      Faith is ego? What caused you to conclude this? And religion, everyone is religious, even you, everyone possesses a sense of truth vs falsehood, right vs wrong, justice, goodness, devotion, but without the one God who is the source of it all, what is truth, falsehood, goodness or justice? Is human autonomy a part of finite arrogance and sin, and if not why?

      Jesus said pick up your cross ✝️ daily and follow ME
      That’s the opposite of ego ~ ego denial.
      Faith is in Christ Jesus not self ~ ego
      If Jesus Christ lived taught did signs and wonders was crucified ✝️ and on The 3rd Day was Resurrected as HE prophesied

      @@robertlight5227 Based on your bluntness and lack of actual argument, it doesn't seem like you are actually interested in the prosocial human behavior of helping anyone to actually learn anything, or learning from others, so I'm probably wasting my time by even attempting to have healthy discussion, but oh well, one can hope.
      I respect you and your beliefs, but please don't call my faith egoism. My faith involves dedicating my life to humility and helping others. I agree with you that many "Christians" are selfish, prideful, and only care about their ego, but that is not inherent to Christianity. That is inherent to humanity. You're gonna have to be more specific. I claim divinity? For myself or for Jesus?
      Of course, many truths can't be observed in a science experiment, like morals, love, souls, the fact that George Washington lived and did what history says he did, etc. To believe in George Washington requires an amount of faith. Not blind faith, but faith based on evidence. To believe that Jesus existed requires this same amount of faith. Here are a few of the reasons of why I believe that there was something special about Jesus: (if you care)
      1. The evidence that Jesus Christ lived requires very little faith. It is a fact in the eyes of any credible historian.
      2. The same is true for the fact that he died at the hands of the Roman Government.
      3. Similarly, it cannot be denied that after he died,
      a) his followers sincerely and passionately believed that he was resurrected, b) even dying for the movement, c)they then spread this news throughout the whole known world, d) Christianity then became the national religion of Rome, the government that killed Jesus and persecuted Christians, and e) has now continued in prominence 2000 years later.
      If you're not familiar with it, this is basically the "minimal facts" argument. There is little to no faith in this argument, no assumptions, no miracles or magic discussed, just historical reality. Again, I respect you and your beliefs, but please don't call my faith egoism. My faith involves dedicating my life to humility and helping others.

    When Christ returns He will destroy not only the earth, but the entire physical realm. So the idea that Christ will reign on earth is error. Jesus has told has that He has gone to prepare a place for us in heaven, not on earth. So Wright's focus is ultimately carnal: he imagines a future paradise on earth just as the JWs do.

    • @andrewthetford7547
      @andrewthetford7547 Рік тому

      I understand your concern, to which I would ask the question, what do you make of the phrase that God is going to make a New Heavens and a New Earth? Romans 8.18-25 is also a good passage for consideration.
      In Genesis, mankind was given authority and dominion to enact God's will on Earth, and this mission of Humanity has never changed. Of course, many disagree about what "God's will on earth" looks like, but it is foolish to say that it is not our job to do God's will here. God's will is revealed through His commands and through His character, and we should seek to be like Him in everything we do.

      @@andrewthetford7547 The New Heavens and New Earth, are simply a Jewish/prophetic figure for the believer's domain and joy in Christ. They are not a new physical creation. Similarly, Armageddon is not a future physical battle, but a figure for what Christ did at Calvary 2000 years ago, where He led captivity captive.

    • @andrewthetford7547
      @andrewthetford7547 Рік тому

      @@lawrence1318 I agree that the Bible works in figures in symbols, and agree that "new heavens new earth" is a figure, but to me, it seems to me that it is a modern way of thinking to completely separate the physical from the spiritual, and to say that one day, God will completely eradicate all physicality. If God chose to work through a physical universe, and physical people in the past, who's to say that He can't purify and cleanse His creation to create a New Heavens and a New earth that has some physical aspect to it in the future?
      Also, it seems that the idea of the complete destruction of the physical creation largely comes from 2 Peter 3.10. Have you studied the Greek of that passage? I have heard many scholars argue that "complete destruction of creation" is a poor interpretation of the Greek there. Thanks for your respectfulness and consideration. I enjoy learning from others.
