This is a kickass song! The change in production style from their last few records doesnt make it a bad song. To everyone who just wants them to put out the first record again, let them progress. The song is called Evolution, afterall.
Gray I agree. At first i didnt like it but as i listened to it more i came to realize that it's just different. True Rockers was their sound, they're just branching out a bit.
I love how people hate on successful bands. You're just so cool for it. This is a good song. Can't blame a band for trying to make a good living. I love my small shows but I also want the bands I like to be successful and sometimes they have to change for that.

Everyone seriously needs to stop on the hate, this is a good tune! I've loved Monster Truck since The Brown EP and so what?! they wanna mix things up a bit. Still a strong song and will always love these guys. The album will be awesome!

This is the last band I was hoping was to turn its sound towards an empty and predictable rock, following in the wake of other prefabricated bands.
Monster Truck were a band that respected and admired, I hope they do not continue down this road and do what they do best, authentic rock and roll.
I they're just experimenting. I doubt they'll keep this sound forever.
No lie, I thought this was Nickelback first time I heard it on the radio. Compare this song to an older song like "Sworded Beest" and you'd think it was two different bands. Bands change their sound, I get it... but to Nickelback?

Yes you're right, but i don't wanna hear a Nickelback clone. This was one of the few bands in the last time i really liked and now that. This song is just boring.
Big fan of the band, really, but "growth"... if anything this song shows that focusing on new material should be more important than being on the tour non-stop.. if any indication, the album will be third-grade at best. Hope I'm wrong, though.
It's not evolving, when you negate your roots and your style. This is just a shitty pop song.
I don't hate or even dislike the song...it's catchy, it's energetic...but it's not MT. Everything I love about this band, everything that makes them different, seems to be missing. It seems like a mildly raspy Shinedown tune, and I was hoping for more of the 70s based, bluesy, ballsy rock the boys have turned out in the past. Oh well....I'm certain it will sell a boatload.

First album was amazing, second album had some good tracks on it. But wow have they ever gone soft. It's pretty sad.

Also (a) Nickelback let the lads use the "big arena screens" when I saw 'em in Glasgow, so that's good; (b) I wish I was as bad at writing hit songs as Nickelback; and (c) it sounds fuck all like Nickelback anyway.

My problem with this song is that the song is written extremely lazily. Where the main drop or hook is only 34 seconds into the song. The lyrics are very superficial and lazily put together. First time I heard this song I thought it was awesome; however, since then I have despised to the sound of this song. Not only can you barely hear the guitars or any highs and lows in the song, but the song is too repetitive and suffering heavily from lazy song writing. The reason for this in my opinion is first off, it sounds like they were indeed trying something new, which I agree is an awesome thing to do! The second thing, it sounds like they were trying to mix pop, and pop recently has downshifted with the same early song hooks, which now occurs way more frequently in songs now, and as a result yields superficial or lazy lyrics to make room for the hooks.

I got into this band this year. I got into the don’t tell me how to live and the lion and we the people songs. But I wish I hadn’t seen this one because it’s really different and it’s kind of ruined mine taste for them a little bit

I don't like the way he sings "Evolution (X3)" in the chorus (it's somewhat rushed), but the verses are pretty catchy and the overall vibe works for me. And yes, it's surely more radio-friendly and formulaic rock, however it's definitely more interesting than the authentic but boring and monotonous classic hard-rock sound.
And STOP HATING NICKELBACK! Imo all of the haters are completely partial as they haven't searched Nickelback in depth in order to realize that they have so many memorable, amazing and meaningful songs (without saying that there are not some bland and low quality Nickelback songs). Nickelback are undoubtedly a great modern rock band with a big impact (hence all refer to them) and they don't deserve such an unfair criticism.

I am a objective fan of any band. I'm a fan of these guys, saw them live and have learned a couple of there songs on guitar. I really felt a unigue vibe from these guys. But i will be the first to point out a shitty song, and this is one of them. I can't help but wonder if Nickleback is behind this, as they have created nickleback clones in the past.
With that being said, this doesn't take away from other stuff they have done. But i might think twice about spending money on tickets.

Fire whoever produced/mixed this garbage track. They'res always ways to go about to make this sound good but this just screams charted single to appeal to people that like commercial easy listening music like shinedown/nickel back. TBH I could literally listen to Animals by nickelback at full blast and call THAT rock over this crap.

well... this is a great band but this isn't his best song... I personally do not like it, I feel that it is not the style that makes me admire this band so much. but I think they're experimenting a bit and that's good. as long as they are not going to make such an exaggerated transition in styles as linkin park did at the time.
Sorry.. Monster Truck has lost it. The great 70s vibe heavy rock feel is gone and now its another Nickleback kinda band. Who told you this was a good idea??

True Monster Truck fans will accept the fact that their sound *IS GOING THROUGH AN EVOLUTION*. This band and any other band will never stay with their tired, old and pretty much overrated first sound they’re entire career. If they did that, they will never evolve into something better, their career will stay stagnant and it’s all due to their ‘unwelcoming to change’ fans. The group will never gain new fans, their radio and television exposure will be limited, due to fact that their old fans wants them to stay old and not EVOLVE.
