SO HAPPY YOU MADE IT THROUGH "MOST OF COVID?" ... I "professionally" face painted at an amusement park in Minnesota, USA, and made huge $$ as a teen (even in 1982 I knew a good brush was worth 3x+ its weight in gold because I worked on commission!) I now (am 53years old) work at a private school and word got out I can facepaint...
I have been watching plenty of videos. I have finally found&bought professional paints I can use (OMG split cakes are awesome) and a pain in the A## if you have never used them before ...I am having difficulty finding 3/4 -1inch brushes that don't "split" when applying. Not sure if the brushes or the paints need to be "BROKE IN" I do not paint regularly, but have been practicing on 2 to 4 kids (arms and/or faces) for weeks. I am having a difficult time loading a brush for a smooth application, and if I do get a brush loaded well it splits during application.
As I'm typing I realize I should probably MIST my NEW paints (& let them sit for a bit?) because they have more than likely been in storage for the last year.
Also, all most all companies sent me stencils (no sponges LOL) and I have obviously found out cheap acrylic paint dabbers/dobbers don't work and I can't find the sponges (or dobbers) you use locally.
    Thanks for any feedback
    Love, Peace, and Joy
    Ms. Carol T

Hi Sislertx, a mask and face shields would work. Using a brush bath solution in your water would be great as well as hand sanitising between kids. A sign telling people that you will refuse to paint anyone with any cold or flu like symptoms also helps. Glad you are getting back into it. Enjoy x
