I retired from the US Navy, I was a Navy Photographer. I wanted to return to the sea. I went on UA-cam. Well for me It’s been following SV Delos and now distant III. You guys are making me return my Photography life again. Crazy, I never thought I would want to return to sea and filming again. Great job guys.
As I got interested in sailing, I found Delos first and then found Distant Shores. What makes both of them better than the others is that the focus is on the joys of travel and adventure. Too many are about the drama of the crew. I have some Delos videos that I always go back to when I need a break. For Distant Shores, my go to videos are through the Exumas.
You might want to check out Cat Greatcircle. They're a Dutch couple that bought a Lagoon 52 and is now part time cruising. Their videos are mostly memories for themselves and don't contain much chatter but rather some subtitles. Also, nice music, fitting the scenery...
Thanks Joe! ❤️ We will be back in the Bahamas and especially the Exumas in a few weeks and will be filming new stuff with the new boat!! We are so looking forward to it 😍
Thanks for a great video and for showcasing two amazing sailing channels together! A special thanks for coming to our pirate party to celebrate Gunner’s 5th Birthday! Thanks for showcasing Endless Playtime! We really enjoyed meeting you two and hope to run into you in a nearby anchorage again soon! Fair winds!
Thanks very much for the video. It is interesting to see an interview with two pioneering Sailing couples. I hope that Delos returns the favor and gives you a nod in one of their Videos to let their audience see where it all began. ( As did Ruby Rose) Let the cross marketing continue!
Have seen all the episodes many times. We record them every day. The last thing we watch before retiring is Distant Shores. We know them word for word. It relaxes us and we wind down from our day. Thank you guys..keep it up!!
Thanks for this update. Been following Delos since about 2010 or 2011, and have enjoyed their channel. I think it was within a year or so that I found your channel, too. Love your work and great interview!
Two of my favorite boat bloggers with you guys being the first. Very much enjoyed watching you on " two Step" and how much I wanted to live that lifestyle.
New subscriber. Just saw you on a SV Delso video. So I'm here to see all your videos from a different perspective. Glad to meet you. I'm disabled so this is my only world now. We have 2 boats & I was raised on a houseboat. My world is slow & fishing & skiing boats. Only on lakes. No ocean experience @ all. I'm Chris from Missouri
Quite surreal to see Distant Shores interviewing Delos. One is spear heading forward with adventure and excitement ,the other is winding down and chilling out, taking time for reflection ,of there many years of adventure and excitement. Wow! Fairwinds to both From the @captains.chair

This makes me so happy! I found you guys on AWE tv, watched everything I could, which only made me want more of course! That’s when I discovered Sailing Sophisticated Lady and then SV Delos. So cool that you’re all meeting up and sharing it with us! So much inspiration! Thanks guys!!
Love your channel, great insights and information for cruisers new, intermediate and seasoned. I think one of the coolest things that happens is when the various you tube channels met and share info. I have followed your channel and sv Delos for many years. I sail a Catalina 42 Mk II and have plans of cruiser her someday. Cheers.
Awesome interview Distant Shores! Well done! I hope you had fun with the Delos super duo as well. Karin had her baby on Aug 4th. They new family is doing well. Fair winds and following seas.

@@DistantShoresTV Nice of you to reply. I need to catch up on episodes with your new boat. I really enjoyed your review of your plan and execution of it. In fact, that is when I found your channel. Best Wishes & Hope you continue enjoying sailing & sharing your love of it. :-) As an Engineer myself, I really enjoy learning about the mechanical & sailing aspects of the boat & what goes into selecting features for a bluewater boat (enjoy that on both channels).
Nice interview. I as well spend too much time watching sailing videos. Too much fun! Back to the ocean for me! (After skiing that is.......) Cheers! Chris
Great personal interview. The nerd in me really would have loved to listen to a conversation about the boats you choose, the perspective after tens of thousands of miles with both brands. Amel and southerly are legendary
IMHO Delos's new season has gotten off to a rocky start. Turning over the filming and editing to Nate and Jordan of Drenched. Every channel has an off week and usually, Delos doesn't falter. I and other members of the Delos Tribe hope Delos takes note of the comments and takes back the filming and editing. I suppose something work and others don't...live and learn and it's their call to make. Love'em from the beginning💖 It was heartwarming to see the newlyweds Brian and Karen smiling, talking about Delos and holding hands. I enjoyed your beaching Distant Shores. Very Cool 👍Thanks for sharing and I'm happy I discovered your channel. 🍻
I enjoyed this "crossover" very much. These "channels" compliment each other very well. I had not seen "Distant Shores" before. Nice people, amazing boat, very "clean", watchable, enjoyable, video. So, I've subscribed. Your "Delos" comment, although I agree to some extent (I think we have to give them time to adjust to each other), would be more appropriate on their channel, rather than here. That said, Nate and Jordan are back in Utah now and no longer on Delos, so that portion of the adventure over.
Great video as usual :). And awesome that you got to meet up with SV Delos, I have been watching therm for years but also you have them beat because I have been watching your TV show since I was a young kid as I am going to be 29 soon :)

in what order? By that I mean what helps the channel the most... I do none of the above but OMG if it means revenue for their superb and informative work I'm 100% in!
UA-cam calculates everything including the % of the film that you watched. Say you only watched half of it than quit, they know. Excellent interview of the newly weds, marvelous to see your beached yacht.
I blame Delos for this sickness I have. I spend way too much time on UA-cam watching sailing video's. And their the ones who started it. Great video!
Me too!

Yep.. I wouldn't call a sickness though. I call it exploratory research for my retirement. 😉⛵
