Vin and Sori React to Metallica's Fade to Black!! - Розваги
Vin is like an embarrassing Dad with all his air guitar and stuff.
Haha yes, but i kinda like his passion...
AHorizontallyChallengedOrangutan love him
When you feel it, you feel it!
I'm that embarrassing guy too. You go Vin!
soon he will be lol
I swear to god, i can sometimes see it in her eyes that she wants to smack him :D
Never! I LOVE good comebacks tho😉-Sori🤟🏻
Just beautiful. Probably one of the best pieces of music ever created. Great reaction!
Agree best pieces of music !
VinAnd Sori check this interview out, may change your opinion on Dave Mustaine
ua-cam.com/video/WND4OQ5VLTA/v-deo.html
Agree and Metallica has so many songs that are masterpieces. Greatest ever.
I engaged this debate about a week ago, specifically Metallica and Megadeth. I won't go so far as to say that Metallica is the greatest band ever, but they've certainly carved out their place in rock/metal history beside the greats (Sabbath, IM, etc). Metallica was the next step in the evolution. And, for the record, I'm a Jethro Tull fan.
Now, you can feel about Metallica however you feel. If they aren't your thing, if they don't tie your boots, fine. There's no accounting for taste. To address your points, however, I will offer up a few arguments. Lyrically, they are solid. They paint the pictures that need to be painted for the music they're playing. They aren't often subtle but I find a lot of their lyrics to be poetic. They aren't Dylan or Petty or Paul Simon, but they tell the stories they want to tell and I don't know what more you want out of lyrics.
Musically they're excellent. Rolling Stone had Kirk Hammett listed as number 11 on its list of greatest guitarists. Burton was a genius on bass and Newsted was more than solid. I don't know much by Trujillo but I expect he's sufficient to play the parts that Burton and Newsted made famous. Newsted beat out Les Claypool to become Metallica's replacement for Burton. Hetfield is not an outstanding singer. He's good, and his voice has held up remarkably well considering how long they've been together, but no one is going to confuse his vocal talent with Freddie Mercury or Chris Cornell. Lars is a very good drummer, though sometimes he tries to go TOO fast and misses his marks. The real genius of Metallica, though, is in their arrangements. The composition of the music, the way one part leads into the next, their ability to build on a motif, is excellent bar none. It's classical, which makes sense since Hetfield's mother was an opera singer. It probably explains why Metallica did an entire album with an orchestra.
But if you prefer hard numbers, there are these: 125 million albums sold worldwide with 52 RIAA platinum certifications. They may have lost that first hard rock Grammy to Tull, but they went on to win 8 other and were nominated 18 times.
And if all of that STILL doesn't convince you of their place in rock history, I will leave you with one more word: Apocalyptica.
Have I heard of Aqualung? I told you I'm a Tull fan. Don't insult me.
You can feel about Metallica however you feel. Clearly you think they're overrated and don't much care for them. That's all well and good. You're entitled to not like them.
That said, just about everything you wrote in this argument is opinion. Unless your argument is that British bands do metal better inherently, I don't see how knowing the birth places of the members of AC/DC, which I already knew, has any bearing on anything. You seem to be trying to limit the argument of greatness to what YOU consider heavy metal to be (quote "this is real heavy metal'). For sure, some of what I wrote is opinion, but I backed it up with real numbers. Your argument has the same disadvantage as the argument I had with the Megadeth fans last week: there are no statistics supporting your conclusion that Metallica isn't very good because all of the numbers support the opposite conclusion that they are, in fact, an excellent band. The Grammy nominations and wins back that up, the album sales numbers back that up, the general critical acclaim Metallica has received back that up. Are they the greatest of all time? No, but it's certainly reasonable that they would be the favorite band of a lot of people given their longevity and obvious appeal.
You can tell Vin is a Metallica fan. He definitely knew this song. He even did the chorus riff improv that James does live.
I first heard this when I was 11... my mother and I were checking out a garage sale and she told me I could get anything I wanted. I immediately went to the cassettes and for some reason Ride The Lightening caught my eye. Needless to say my mind was blown away when I slapped it into my old Walkman lol... Fade to Black still gives me chills....🤘
Well, the album cover is attention grabbing. That must've been a good feeling snatching up that album on a whim, with no context.
Gotta love the look on Sori's face when she's groovin' with her eyes closed then slowly opens them to see Vin performing an air-guitar solo 8D luv y'all one love
Maybe really tired? They're both slammin' Redbull but if she is baked that's cool too no judgement over here bro
I have a feeling Siri would love One by Metallica. The slow buildup to the heaviness at the end, absolutely fantastic.
TheSuperSaiyan97 Siri-- will Sori like "One" by Metallica? Lol
?
I think the line: “I was me, but now he’s gone” is one of the top 5 lines of lyrics in Metallica’s songs. Every time I hear that I get chills. Their lyricism has always been the cream of the crop💯
I agree. That line speaks volumes to me
For me, these types of songs helped me because it helps you feel like you're not alone. Like another person has written this song that i can relate too and you just know there are countless others listening and feeling the same thing.
Love your reactions guys!
Glad you did this beautiful song!
5:05 has always been an instant goosebump creating moment for me!
BTW Sori is a very pretty girl. Someone had to say it.
I hear ya my man! 🤘🏾-vin
And Vin's a very lucky man. ;-)
Truuuuuu
for shure for shure :P
Is she by any chance related to Marko Saaresto?
That song reminds me of my brother he passed away 16 years ago and it feels like it was yesterday! I fucking love that song
Thanks a lot Vin and Sori for both the reaction and the insightful and heartfelt conversation about depression.
Appreciate that my man !!
I love seeing the two of you sing this song. The passion for this kind of songwriting is right up your alley.
This is the first video I have watched from you 2, I LOVE the energy of this video, keep it up
Great song to react to. It's actually about two things: Metallica's gear was stolen in a van and James was so sad because now he couldn't follow his dream. The other reason is darker. One of the amplifiers stolen, was a final gift from his dying mother, hence the reference of losing someone. Which makes this song extremely sad. By the way, a lot of people always blame the artist for their children's suicide when the lyrics are about such dark themes. But the thing is that suicidal people will always try to find a trigger, or at least those people who commit suicide due to a song. It's not the artists' fault. Beautiful song and a great by the cool Vin and quite frankly beautiful and sexy Sori.
Well done, guys!
"A TOUT LE MONDE" or "In My Darkest Hour" by MEGADETH you will here elements similar to Fade to Black. You will hear how Dave Mustain and James Hetfield write lyrics about similar topics.
I agree~! Please react to the two mentioned.
Those are good. But this is in a different league
Yeah. Mustaine have obession with Hetfield . Its disgusting!
Dave and James wrote alot together Dave came up with the music and James the lyrics
Mustaine never had an obsession with Hetfield you idiot.
Vin going full Jack Black in this one. Nice reaction guys.
Such a gift to watch. Thank you.
Thing that most people overlook about this song/album is that day were in their early 20s, when they made it. One word 'MASTERPIECE'.
I agree with him about the solo. It’s one of the greatest ever
i just love you guys sitting there talking about it, keep on going \m/
I like how you guys keep it real! You dont pause the video, and you really dive deep into the song. Keep it up guys!
I kind of live for HER reactions on these. Watching her connect is priceless. He does what all guys do.....plays all the air instruments just be there like she is... it makes a connection
James wrote this after all of his gear was stolen.
Wow
Actually, Cliff is the main song-writer for this song with contributions from James. His rickenbacker was stolen shortly before this.
Sainandan Ramakrishnan actually, James wrote the lyrics after the band’s equipment was stolen. He was particularly upset about losing an amp that had a lot of sentimental value to him.
The Lyrics. Not the music.
it was that and amongst other things.. they got kicked out of their managers house for partying to hard and breaking stuff..
You two are inspirational. Thank you=)
WOW! I seen it...Sori was gripped by the whole thing...beautiful. Truly awesome when the world melts away & there's nothing but the song. Keep up the great work guys.
OZZY OSBOURNE - "DEE", for mothers day, Randy wrote it for his mom, its a really short instrumental, but full of meaning, Happy Mothers Day🤘
When I really want to depress myself, I listen to this song followed by Pearl Jam’s Black.
David Bovey Suicide Note from Pantera is good for that too. It's also helping me get through these dark times of mine.
Why would someone want to depress themself?
@@seankeating5005
So that songs can sound better
I actually play these song early in the morning at my car, to start a nice sunny day 😁
VinAnd Sori keepin it 100 real talk about depression i appreciate that y'all take on deep subject matters so fearlessly keep doin what you do
I struggle with depression and it's always tough for me some days. Like you said that I find true. Now that I have a 9 month old son. It helps me through times. As I know someone needs me. That i have to snap out of it and get me through the day for him as well as for me. I always enjoy your insight. Also how you share your life with some of the reactions. Music honestly saved my life and don't know what I would be with out it. Thanks for all you do.
Welcome Home(Sanitarium) is another song that has a similar sound. You guys should review it!
I do play air-guitar too...which picks do you prefer?? :-p xD :o)
Hahaha !
I like to air drum. My drum sticks of choice are my index fingers haha!
Hahaha !!!
Stolen picks xD
When I play Real Bass, I use Dunlap XT. When playing Air Bass, I catch them out of thin air.
I thouroly enjoy your responses to this song. I like to watch both of you react during the song but I love it when she closes her eyes and really take it in. Thanks guys!! Great blog.
i love you guys I like how vin just knows every note on guitar that a man that appreciates good playing.

Kirk has never written a song I can think of in his entire life,
Mustaine has written over 300 songs, rhythm, Lead, lyrics, sings and plays guitar Kirk plays what James tells him to
How the hell do you leave out holy wars? But you are correct.
Korn is trash.
I appreciate the knowledge the you guys bring to decipher each song.
You guys are awesome! Love y'all
you guys are super funny. The dude annoyed me at the start, but won me over. Subbed.
Welcome!!!
Yup, he's like the annoying half. We put up with him for Sori's reactions 😂
both band are great to me, never went this mentally of who's better, they each have something great to offer, try dystopia from their last album of the same title, and nevermore this godless endeavor, rock on \m/
This song not only makes me shed tears at the beginning, and feel how life has been a rough journey, but then I’m stilled to this day, stunned by the guitar solo at the end and how it fades out. Not to mention, the riffs in between that make go from emotional with the melodic guitar play to the angry head banging with the riffs. Greatest song to me in Metallica’s catalogue.
Guys can I just tell you how much I appreciate you guys! I'm not a huge fan of reaction videos until I saw you guys. I've literally have had some of the worse days and turn you guys on and it picks me up! Don't change a thing about you guys! You are truly appreciated
Hallowed be thy name by iron maiden please react
Yep...I am ready for some Maiden...wondering if they will dig Maiden style metal...I know they will like some of the lyrics.
The live version from Flight 666 album is THE best version. Bruce's vocal is just ridiculously good on that version.
I will see Iron Maiden on the first of june!
Isak Gamling Good time guaranteed.
Carvalho Diablo I hope so! Killswitch engage are opening so I Will see them too.
Very nice reaction. I heard this before and Sori said in this video too that she still cannot seperate the instruments quite much. I have an advise for that. Teach her one instrument, atleast the basics. For example teach her some guitar, basic notes then chords.
I remember when I was kid, I used to listen to different kind of music but when I learned guitar and keyboard, it not only made my ear able to recognise different instruments, but also made me understand music to a whole new level. If you play an instrument, you can understand the build of a song. It's hard to explain but I'm sure Vin undrstood what I mean :P
Anyway, Happy Mothers day Sori.
Yesterday was my Bithday, if you want to present me Vin SOri, you will have to react on Critical Acclaim- Avenged Sevenfold live in the LBC.
I want to see your reaction to a7x's live performance since so long xD
Keep up the great work.
Sori you are awesome. Vin you too :)
Or smoke some weed...
Interesting point. I'm so used to hear everything separated the ride on the drums, the lead guitar, the backing vocals that I can't imagine it otherwise anymore. That's why I appreciate some music as "music for musicians" (Tool, Meshuggah, Tesseract, Leprous, Steve Vai and even Soundgarden and Alice in Chains) on a whole other level. There are specific licks, drum fills etc. I fall in love with and I look forward to others can't even make out.
You should check out protest the hero, definitely music for musicians :)
Protest the hero are wild. But look rather domesticated in comparison to Animals as leaders. But that's the thing I'm not in it for the thrills the speed. It's not who's able to make it more complex or faster or crazier when it comes to timing. It's all about the feeling. It can be simple as hell as long as it has feeling and it can be as complex as can be but if it lacks feeling and is all about showing of I'm gone ;) Of course this "making sense feeling" is different for everybody so when it comes to music and art it's mostly recommendations and not who's right. Protest to hero are heroes though in my mind ;)
sarakaster couldn’t have said that better! 😊
Watching your videos is like talking to a friend. Best video yet!
I think this song can be positive for someone in the same position because even I have struggled with depression this was my go to song because its relatable and that's why it's positive. It lets you think that there ARE other people that are struggling even more than your struggles and that right there can make not feel alone knowing that there are other people fighting with this along with you
This song got alot of flak because it talks about ending your life, but this helps teens channel their feelings. There's no crying in thrash but it helps to understand that your not the only one that feels the way you do. Everybody gets the blues and each genre channels them in their own way. James sang this song as how he should sing. This was before Bob Rock convinced him he was a tenor.
Happy Mothers Day
Come on 10K followers! You guys are getting close!!!! Grats on 9K +
I enjoy your reactions; the best on youtube.
Omg i love your reaction guys, please react to for whom the bell tolls
Yasssss!!!
Josephina Duran, yes and to God that failed!
I got past my depression with the help of metallicas music and the companionship of the animals in my life.
How can you dislike this great reaction?goodjob!
Great people with great channel. Couldn't ask for anything more. Great job.
Thank you !
i think that the real problem here is that she doesn't like when you start to act like an idiot when you listen metallica ! that was the thing in previous metallica songs.
I couldnt agree more.
I don't hear her complaining. Just you
Love the violin background:) Now check out some CLUTCH. They aren't all serious and full of themselves. They are just goodtimes music. Binge and Purge.
Get it, big Vin! Hahaha LOVED this reaction! Merry Xmas, y’all!
This is your best one yet, you rock at air playing and giving glances at your lady and you looked so happy!
Keep doing more METALLICA!!! :)
John Doe I'd like to see a Sori reaction to Halo on Fire.
Yes indeed, I totally agree with You on that. They should react to as many METALLICA songs as possible!
My favorite Metallica song
great reaction. Can't wait to see more. Subscribed.
Been so long since I heard this song I had to get out my guitar and play along while watching you!! Learning this song's solo was what motivated me to continue practicing guitar back in High School.
Classic
React to Metallica - Dyers eve
the craziest song!! james's voice is fantastic!!!!
Or Eye of the Beholder...
Ork _ oz, to live is to die, then Orion would also be good to see.

Vin, you get this light in your face when you know you are about to play something you know Sori is gonna like. Loved it guys, great review of one of the all time greats.
Dude your air guitar is nothing compared to Chuck Billy.
Truuuuu
Lol...watched Chuck Billy stage dive straight into the ground playing air guitar.
react to Chop Suey by System of a Down!!!!
A great song , enjoyed the break down. This song got me through a lot of hard times in my life.
I am a first time viewer and commenter.. I have to say I have watched other videos of non metal head's listening to metal. Hands down you two are the best I have viewed and really get into a great show by covering all the aspects of the song. I love you guys keep up the great work!!!!!
Thanks! And welcome friend! -Sori✌🏻
Steve Vai - For The Love Of God ( Live Version )
Please listen to Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria
Cole Phelep I second this
God I hate his voice
Brett Bee it's weird how they kinda sound like Rush and I don't even like Rush.
Coheed and Cambria rule. I love The Broken, The Final Cut, and Good Apollo: The Writing Writer. Just too many great songs to choose from.
Or Metallica or King Diamond - all are good.
I instantly had a goosebumps when you guys breakdown the lyrics
The genius of writing songs, is in the ability to write in such away that u can convey the message u want and simultaneously allow enough room between the lines for people to interpret it in several ways.
Symbolism is a very useful tool for this.
Finding someone that really and truly understand your depression and where one coming from is crucial to prevent/halt the depression from going deeper.
Talking about it help a lot!
it's not just something shrinks says, it truly do help.
But not just with anyone, u really need someone that understand u
If you want great songs & melodic solos and music, give Iron Maiden a try
naaaaah 3 league
yes hallowed be thy name
YES
Absolutely. The intro for "The Trooper" is classic.
dEBA Maisnam Run For The Hills!
Death flesh and the power it holds
Vin this is like the 5th time I watched this video. The song is my favorite of all time. But the more I watch the video. The reactions from you both bring me back more to the video. Thanks. I for some reason took my depression out a totally d8fferent way. Until my dad stopped me. Stupid story but it worked for me. Plus the depression was from a woman. And I was only 16. My other was when I lost my Grandma. But anyway. Love it. Thanks.
Been a little while since I ran into your live stream a month or so ago. I am a busy individual...but enjoy my "free" time surfing on youtube. I ran into this reaction tonight and enjoyed watching Sori let this song into her soul.
Not gonna lie, I like it better when Vin doesn't know the song. Chill dude, you're trying too hard
ohWolffy he takes her attention away from the song it seems
ohWolffy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's like when your friend shows you their favorite movie or comic and they're just staring at you "You like it, right?? Don't you love it??? Listen to this part!!" ...You can't get genuine reactions that way ...and it's just weird to watch
ohWolffy I hate to say I agree lol. The whole video I was just like ok we get it you know the song. Just relax and let Sori take it in for the first time without all the distraction.
The man is feeling the music! Leave him be!
Enough with the Red Bull for you Vin! :-D
I love this song and your reaction to it was amazing you guys are amazing keep up the amazing work rock on 🤘
This is what i call a great reaction video!
Not much to say about this song. It is a classic and, I believe, this is what became the songwriting framework for the next few albums.
Metal on good people 😁🤘🤘
Vinand sori, I would first like to say I love your channel and breakdowns. 2nd Metallica has always and will be my favorite band off all time with Fade to Black being my favorite song which also contains my favorite lyric. I love what you were saying about the depression and eventual suicide that James sings about.my favorite lyric is "Life it seems will fade away drifting further everyday." I've never been able to say why (ill try my best to) but that line has always touched me somehow and I've never been able not to think about that line. There's people who will say a song is written about them and speaks to what there going through. Even though that I've never been affected by major/minor depression, to me that line speaks the truth about everyone. No matter what anyone in the world goes through, no matter what race, social status, political party, or how popular you are we will all pass away. Even the average life expectancy is going declining. Life is getting shorter and shorter every day since the day were born. That's what that line says to me.
Sori is literally the only reason I watch these videos lol she really feels the music, I love it.
Wassup with Vin ? did you drink one too many Redbull's or high on weed lol ?
We need some Disturbed, Dream Theater, Killswitch Engage, and some female vocalists in there such as In This Moment, Otep, or The Agonist!
Great song choice. This one is just beautiful. And the lyrics have always spoken to me. From the depression that plagued my teens. The alcohol and drug abuse I fell into to numb myself. And how those years changed me forever. The friends who died. This is a great song for days I feel like shit.
That solo is the highest point of Kirk's guitar playing. It's up there with Mr. Crowley and Stairway To Heaven. So I guess it's one of metal's highest points. There are guitarists that are technically light years ahead of Kirk but none convey any emotion at the level of a pentatonic based solo that hits you where you live.
Corrosion of Conformity-In the Arms of God
The list is endless really. They don't get the respect they deserve. Pepper Keenan is the unsung Riff Lord!
13 Angels, Heavens not Overflowing, Clean My Wounds.
And justice for all song from ajfa album.
After 10 years of very rarely playing guitar anymore and having kind of forgotten I liked this song as much as I do I just randomly found this video and remembered the song and just found out that I can still play it, awesome, thanks!!
The music in the background just makes it more emotional
Vin=too extra. Simmer down and let the music speak
I was enjoying the music!
So what man? He likes the song, let him rock out
People love to compare Metallica and Megadeth and I love both bands. Dave Mustaine is technically better than Kirk Hammett so you would think Megadeth should be the bigger band because the guitar work is more intricate. There is just one huge difference between the two bands. For all of Dave Mustaine’s fantastic guitar work Megadeth cannot duplicate the groove that Metallica has in their songs. That’s why Metallica expanded out of the metal genre and Megadeth did not. That’s just my humble opinion.
Ultimatemusings BOTH bands are Incredible. Seeing them together with Anthrax and Slayer on stage in Sophia was heartfelt...
My opinion it was the black album that separated the bands, Metallica turned into household names and became multimillionaires, off of that album, and 27 yrs later have not made anything near the Brilliant Work that they done up till the black album, Megadeth been consistently great over their career
They were already multi-millionaires by the end of Master of Puppets, brother.
In my opinion MEGADETH has better songwriting and better musicianship. METALLICA is a better Band. Both are Great. Both have faults and issues but greatness shall not be denied. I like SAVATAGE 100 times better.
Cliff Burton! He was the game changer that died too young. He was awesome. Metallica took off, but never forget who made this band great.
love the reaction
VinAnd Sori I love y'alls reaction videos I love how open you are and how you don't get offended about what done people talk about in their music even though you don't agree like me you don't judge either, but anyway keep it up guys!!!!! Again hope you get to look up For Today Fight the silence or any song for that fact!
