It's crazy that in just the past week or so, she's done this song on SNL, tiny desk, and the Late Show all in completely different arrangements
I think she also did it on Seth as well - I've seen it 3 times now since and including SNL and I didn't know about tiny desk

SHE NAILED THE VOCALS ! I think not playing the piano was a good choice to help her focus on hitting those higher notes
It also leaves her free to sing with her eyes.

I love Olivia playing the piano and she’s amazing at it. But when she’s not playing piano for vampire, her vocals really shine and exceed
I think she also just had a bit more rest, her voice is still tired though, but at least she was able to perform the notes. Her piano skills are not particularly impressive though, her transition into the last bridge struggled on SNL, but here it’s cleaner but you can hear her holding on for dear life as the subdivision increases from (likely) 8th note clicks to 16th note clicks. But that’s on the arrangement, not her. I disagree with whoever arranged this not putting a cleaner transition there, it doesn’t sound right in an acoustic setting and clearly gets a little tear from the keys/strings.
@@EnbyWithAPhone jw what specific part you are referring to where there should be a cleaner transition? just curious as i am interested as to why on this performance and snl she seems to whisper/? go to a softer high vocal range at the end
Its hard to play piano and sing at that range 😩
I also think it’s bc she’s been preforming back to back to back. During sour she wasn’t out singing this much as she is now. She did amazing on this !!!

She's amazing when all her energy is focused on just vocals, still the complete package though.
Loved that she took a small extra beat between “I used to think I was smart” and “you made me look so naive” in the last chorus. There was so much emotion and tension there, like I was hearing that line for the first time again. Bravo!
Never get bored of watching each and every new 'Vampire' performance from her because each and every single one of them will have different details and slight changes. This was the best clean version performance thus far. ❤

It's a good song, but my least favorite on the album ngl.
Vocally, this is her best performance of Vampire. When Liv focuses all her energy on her vocals, she DELIVERS. The naysayers can f*ck off atp, the girl can clearly sing & y'all can't deny it anymore
No fr, like sure she’s had some hiccups but who hasn’t . She’s so talented and has so much time to become better than what she already is. I feel the bigger she gets the more hate will come and that sucks.

This song stabs me in the heart every time. It reminds me of an experience with a boy that happened more than 22 years ago now but still makes me cry to think about it. He took my self-worth from me and I've never been the same. Thank you, Olivia, for reminding me that even wonderful people can be victims sometimes. 😢

And it might be a rare example of the altered version being the best. The original is her song, but since most successful women aren't famous, the altered version is their song.

I've only every heard Olivia Rodrigo one other time. However, she stuck with me in my mind. It sounds like she writes music the same way I do, not really conforming to what the radio wants, but giving them what they need! I am not saying I am anywhere near the calibre, for a start, I am a man, so I can't hit the notes I want to, but the flow is similar. Anyway, I think Miss Rodrigo just inspired me to write more and finish a particular song. Thank you, Olivia and Stephen!
