- Finally finished up the front wheel and disc brake conversion. None of it is simple bolt on for the Navi. Lots of work needed but I’ll post up more info and part numbers for what I started with soon. Please like/comment/share and SUBSCRIBE!
I love every single thing that you have done. This is by far the best looking Navi someone has modified at home.
Thank you! I don’t have a garage at home right now so 99% was built in a storage unit with no power outlets. Haha it’s been difficult but working on changing that!
This is why i love the navi! Something super plain and simple can be turned into something so badass like this! Also that blue is absolutely beautiful! Thanks for so many great navi videos!
Thank you! I agree 100% I was inspired by what Steady Garage built and the fact there were no other customs built yet. Super fun to mod and figure out ways to change it up.
@@xtramediumminimoto I love it! I can definitely see the inspiration in the rims but the rest looks super original, kudos sir! Once again thank you for all the videos, you made it where I can actually ride the thing at night and feel safe by showing a simpleton such as myself how to do the ac/dc swap the best way! Please keep up the great, fun, and EDUCATIONAL videos, they are BEYOND appreciated!
Oh man I NEED that blue to go with the Stitch stickers that will go on my Navi! (its red right now)
Technically it’s ‘atomic teal’. 😉
@@xtramediumminimoto , well whatever its called its a great color and looks spectacular! 👍🏻👍🏻
Those rims are awesome. Love this build so far.
Thank you!
I bet a red filter would look clean with all the hints of red you have but very very clean
I actually had a red filter on it for a short time but didn’t like the physical size of it. If I had a smaller one I’d probably have it mounted.
Extremely Cool Navi Brother from another Mother!
Thank you!
Now that's the Navi that I'd like to buy.
I’ve got two, either one could be for sale but more likely the other one first.
@@xtramediumminimoto I want the disc brakes. Put a disc brake on the back too! :)
No need for a disc brake on the rear, I can lock it up with ease if I want.
Nice man, looks great and fun also! Im looking at pimping out a KLX300 SM, these small bikes are so much fun. Best of luck -Cheers
Absolutely! At some point I’ll start show off some of my other projects too.
ahhhh those wheels are dope.
Thank you!
Clean and mean looking.
Thank you!
First $10000 Navi on the road.
Nah I’m sure it cost me less than the Naviscape from Steady Garage. But I definitely spent some money figuring out what would work and what wouldn’t…
Love the wrap on it if thats wrap. And the chimera bars are sick! Are those red quick release washers on your license plate and around the bike?
Thanks! The wrap is 3M atomic teal. Most of the hardware is random anodized red bits. Not necessarily quick release though, just used plastic thumb screw nuts on the back side. So technically I could remove them pretty quick. Really just used em because I had them and light weight on the plate for less vibration.
@xtramediumminimoto over all, nice man! Was just wondering cause they contrast nicely with the teal. Beautiful navi
Thank you!
I like it way to mod it 😎nice.
Thank you!
Looks great
Thank you!
Looks Cool!!!
Thank you!
Would you do an instructional video on how you installed the disc brake
Sorry but it’s all custom parts. The parts I used don’t fit without machining.
Hey man where and how did you install those MX front pegs? Link please and thank you, brother!!
They actually aren’t MX pegs, they’re Riot pegs from Kuryakyn and I had a custom bar made to replace the original. We used a solid stainless steel bar, welded new brackets and machined and threaded the ends of the bar to accept normal motorcycle pegs. The custom bar is shown (off the bike) in one of the other videos so you can see what it looks like.
Congratulations ; excellent work. I'm assuming you have confidence for the longevity of this model or you wouldn't put in all the effort. Gives me confidence to maybe buy one.
I originally bought one because it was cheap and looked like it would be fun to modify. Now I have two! Haha
@@xtramediumminimoto so maybe I assumed too much.
Looks nice! Great mods. What kind of handlebars are those. And where did you get them from?
They’re from Steady Garage, it’s the Chimera U-bomb bar and woodcraft clip ons.
Did you get them with zero rise? Did u have any problems when turning jw
Mine are actually even lower than normal as I replaced the lower clamps with pcx150 parts.
Nice bike
Thank you!
Is it painted or wrapped?
3M atomic teal vinyl wrap.
Nice
Thank you!
I have a question on how you did your disc brake conversion I would like to know your advice on how to do the process
It took a lot of machine work to make the adapter fit the Navi. It started as a Daytona adapter for a ape/monkey in japan because the lower section of the forks are similar.
Hermosa
Gracias!
Im still a newbie at this, but how do you install aftermarket brake levers on the handlebar? (or which brake lever do you use?) I Have hopider short levers but I can't seem to find where to begin. Thank you =)
The first step is to loosen the cable at the ends near each wheel so you’ll have slack. Then remove the nut on the bottom of the lever before the bolt going through it. Let me know if you need more help!
Love the work!!!👍
Now that it's been a month with the 12 Inch rear wheel have you noticed much power lag taking of from a stop or up hill climb???
Also how has it improved your top speed???
Keep 2 on the pavement
Rides great with oem 12” front wheels, I’ve only put about a mile on it since mounting the front disc brake and custom wheel. Feels good so far!
Where can I get and what are the front directionals called? They are beautiful.
The ones in this video came from Hotbodies racing but I have changed them recently to a tinted “speed metal” brand.
@@xtramediumminimoto Do you have photos or video of the change?
Sorry I’m not good at editing so I just film after the work is done.
Rims are sick. How much
Sorry I don’t have them for sale.
For the clip on bars, how many inches did you go for ? Looks like 2 inches
The bars on this one are lower than original using PCX150 parts.
Those wheels r sick as hell. Were did you purchase them?
They’re from japan and require machining and re-drilling.
I want a Navi so bad, gotta get my motorcycle license first
I took a two day course (long time ago) to get my endorsement. It was more expensive but it was fun and lowered my insurance.
Rims are sweet the factory rear especially is terrible looking
Thank you! I agree, that little 10” wheel drove me nuts so I started with an oem 12” front wheel on the rear.
What bolt pattern is that Navi for you to drill the new bolt holes on the Chinese when you bought?
These are not Chinese wheels. The bolt pattern didn’t change, it uses a Navi rear hub and the front is unmodified.
How much does it cost to customize the navi like this?
I don’t have an exact cost as many things were modified more than once before it was exactly how I wanted it. Definitely more than the cost of the Navi at MSRP.
Any downside/complications to the bigger tire in the back?
Depends how tall of a tire you want. You may need to shave the back of the engine case a bit. Aside from that it’s great, rides better and slightly higher top speed.
Whats the rear tire size / brand. I put a 110/70/12 on the rear and its still too skinny looking
It’s a kinda KD1 as shown in several videos. The other Navi has Kenda k413
@Xtra medium minimoto, disculpa amigo a dónde o como conseguiste los rines o como le puedo adaptar esos rines a la mía? Gracias!
The wheels are from japan and need to be machined to fit the Navi.
How fast does it go?
Fastest I’ve seen on gps is 64mph. I’m confident I’ve gone faster but that was down a big hill come back from Look Out Mtn outside of Denver, did not have gps on at the time. Does about 60mph in the city with enough room.
Hey what are those rim alloys called in thise tyres which make them opaque
They are just billet aluminum wheels that have been machined to fit the Navi.
Hey man have you thought of modifying the swingarm aswell like steady garage?
@@xtramediumminimoto ..
Please someone tell me the number of those tires so I can put it on mine.
110/70/12 front and rear. These are Kenda KD1 racing.
what air filter is that? do you know the inlet size?
Sorry I’ve not measured it but it came with the MiniMotoNation carb upgrade kit. I’m still using the stock carb for now though.
What?,,,no sound from that awesome Yoshimura pipe?
You can hear it in a few other videos. People said it was hard to hear me with the bike running…
Hi what kind handle bar is that please ?
The handle bars are woodcraft clip one and the Chimera U-bomb bar from Steadygarage.com
Lol. Looks great, but a bit over the top for a mini bike.
Thanks! I bought it for the sole purpose of modifying it.
Weel price
I don’t sell parts sorry.
im looking at Honda Dax or monkey wheels there two peas
They’ll probably still need to be machined for the Navi hubs if you find the right offset. But 2 or 3 piece wheels would definitely make it easier.
...If it ain't Broke ..Don't Fix it.
Nah I don’t leave anything alone.
@@xtramediumminimoto ....That Will Change ....Takes Time....
It will never change. That’s how I’ve always been.
