      Glad to hear it! Not too many videos of these cars out there. Love the looks of the 1985 and 1986 headlights and grills. I will be doing a video on how to replace the window tape on my yellow olds. I have all the parts to do it as of last week but with the suburban build taking up most my time im not sure when ill get around to doing it.

      PostalRedneck do you intend to keep your 86 Oldsmobile regency if so I’d like to send you something free and it might be valuable to you , I have a factory 3 part service manual for Oldsmobile regency, body , mechanical and wiring I can’t use it but I’d like to see it go to a fellow enthusiast. I want nothing for it I’d be happy to ship it to you probably UPS if UPS delivers to you , I do need a drivers side front fender sign regency let me know if you’d like the books and give Ratchet a scritch scratch for me

    Hello Postal, I need help! I have a 1979 Oldsmobile 98 Regency and the drivers side window switch bezel has come loose and the switches are no longer in alignment. There's probably a bracket under it that is broken but I can't even figure out how to get it off. And I have searched the world wide web for a replacement bezel, and cannot find one. Maybe the existing part is fixable, but can't tell because I don't know how to get it off without breaking it further. Please help. I couldn't really see how you got the bezel off your olds.

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry to hear about your problem and not sure if my switches are the same but on mine there is a little slot on one the side pointing to the rear of the car that you put a flat head screw driver into and push forwards. As you do that you pull up on the side you have the screw driver in. Its like a little V shaped spring clip you are trying to claps to get past the door handle. I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck.

    I enjoyed the video. It was informative. My Toronado windows will not go up or down. I wonder if it is what you replaced or the regulator itself. I hate you went through the key issue. I felt for you. You got it resolved. I keep a spare door key in my wallet for both of my Oldsmobiles. Good video.

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 роки тому +1

      It only takes about 5 minutes to pull the door panel with the plastic tools from harbor fright to pop the clips. Hopefully its not the power window regulator tape like im suspecting the passenger side is. They over time snap. Im crossing my fingers thats not whats wrong with the passenger window but I think it is. As for the spare keys in a wallet I dont think that would work well for me as I own way to many cars. I would have to have 6+ keys haha. I think im going to get magnetic key boxes and put them on the underside of my cars.

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  2 роки тому +1

      Its about the same for all 4 doors. Just be careful with the door cards as they are weak and the arm rest break easy.

    Quick question buddy I got a 1965 Oldsmobile ninety eight...and can't find window motors for back windows....do you know what year of another car motor I can convert to...some are saying I can get motors from a 1982 Buick regal...you wouldn't have any information on what I can convert with would you?thank you

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  Місяць тому

      Not a clue. If you need just the motor I would say its possible to find one off another car but if you need the whole regulator I think you would need one from the same car.

    I only ever did the diy window tint once, what a huge pain!! It didn’t turn out very good but it’s been on there 5 years. Probably gonna pull it off eventually and have it professionally redone

      Yeah I have done quite a few vehicles in my time but they are never as good as the pros but I love to take pride in my cars and knowing its 100% built by me is something I like about all my cars even if its not perfect as long as its not mechanical im fine with it. BTW pro tip if you pull the window tint yourself us PB Blaster to get the film glue off. Ill be doing a video on that soon.

    • @Beandiptheredneck
      @Beandiptheredneck 4 роки тому +1

      PostalRedneck now that might be helpful cuz it’s the type with glue. My truck has the vent side windows and a slide in the back so it’s more than I want to do a second time

      Yeah I hear you. I have done 2 hatchbacks, Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, Chevy Colorado, Plymouth Acclaim, Honda Civic, and a few others and it takes a long time to get it right and its never as good as just taking it somewhere.

    The problem I have the windows keep falling after I replace that part do you think the windows tape is bad I replaced that part three times

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 роки тому +1

      Well im going to be honest. I replaced that part and a week later the socket fell out of the ball. I ended up having to drill out all the rivets and replace the whole piece including the part that clips on the window tape. I figured well I was at it I might as well do the window tape as well. I didnt do a video on it as I was in a rush to get it done for winter storage. Not going to lie its a bit of a job and that motor and window track are not easy to get out to work on. Hope this helps.

    I'm trying to convert to electric windows, I was wondering if you have any advice

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  2 роки тому

      I can honestly say I understand why you would want to but at the same time its a huge undertaking. You will need everything from door panels to just about everything inside the door as well as a good understanding of electrical. Then to top it off you are going to have to gut the interior to run the wires to every door. I know the struggle as my 95 lifted civic I ran for 8 years had manual windows. I had everything to convert it to power just not the will power haha. Take your time and good luck.

    Hello good evening I do not speak English, but I wanted to know if you have any idea what happens to my car oldsmovile delta 88 year 1986, which was 17 years without riding now I want to make it go and it does not start, change the pump since it was deteriorated, and the problem that it presents is really that the starting only makes it direct, from the starting motor, and apparently no current reaches the starting motor. which could be thanks

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 роки тому +1

      Try to run it off starting fluid. If it runs off that then you only have a fuel problem. If it dont start on starting fluid you have an ignition problem. 17 years is a long time for a car to sit. Good luck.

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah I got lucky the key worked. It took about 5 seconds of working the key when I first tried it and it unlocked the door and I thought huh. The emotions I went though in them 5 seconds was kinda funny. So I did a quick skit of what I went though haha.

  • @jonathanpetty5450
    @jonathanpetty5450 4 роки тому +1

    Hahaha that was funny man I'm glad the key work for you. I kind of have the same problem but it's like a little piece that holds the window in place call a window guide cause everytime I let the window down it'll tilt forward on me and I don't know where to buy them and these cars are hard too find. If you have any advice I would love to hear it.

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 роки тому +2

      Yes I have the same problem on my Yellow 1986 Oldsmobile 98. I have bought some clips from Amazon that claimed they would fit but did not. Im working to find the correct clips and when I do im going to do a video on it. Its my winter beater so right now its sitting in storage till winter. My suggestion would be to subscribe and wait haha. Best of luck and if you find the ones that work let me know please.

    I can’t get the motor off for the life of me it’s so damn frustrating like these engineers really didn’t want this easy at all it’s like they were on drugs rivets? I got the rivets out and now I see motor is attached to everything else in there and well idk I’ve been messing with it for like 3 days off an on when I’m not at work and well it looks fucked
