- John Carpenter’s Halloween is a bare-bones horror film that was made on an extremely low budget, but it proves that less is more, because the film is terrifying. It sees Michael Myers stalking and murdering teenage girls on Halloween night and ultimately disappearing at the end, despite being shot multiple times.
From there, the storyline gets complicated, as the sequel reveals that he was actually chasing his sister, with a later sequel revealing there is an ancient curse on him. It’s all pretty convoluted, but the good news is that you only need to see the first one to enjoy 2018's Halloween. Let’s take a look at the explanation of the entire Halloween storyline.

Hell nah! Other than them trying something different with Halloween 3 - Season of the Witch. I love these movies. I just have a few questions that never got answered. Like her daughter Carrie died, but when did she have another daughter? In H2O she had a son John...where did he go? Her niece Jamie is still out there somewhere. Will she she return?
@@DallasStorm43 They all are not canon, they are just alternative wold stories. Canon movies list in order like this: Halloween (1978), Halloween (2018), Halloween: Kills (2021) and Halloween (2022). Last 2 movies was not released yet. Anyway canon story is on this movies. Other movie characters never born or killed by Myers, they are alternative stories. I hope this helped

Actually I think Halloween 4 has some of the best character development of any of the films.
I mean other than Michael and Loomis it introduces an entire new cast of characters that you really care about by the end. Meeker, Rachel, Brady...all very relatable and “real”. And Danielle Harris putting on one of the best performances of any child actor ever! Why ya have to hate on it, Looper?

I figured this out when I was 11 in 1978 watching it for the first time. Halloween is a masterpiece and the first one is the best. Cinematography was groundbreaking in this movie as well as the score.

I remember carpenter saying he didn’t think the original movie would be a success because it was so low budget, but it worked in his favor tremendously. Without an extravagant budget, producers and writers were able to really focus in on the story line and character development without having to worry about special effects and other unnecessary bs. Less is more.

I would like to see them incorporate Halloween (1981) into phase 5. Make it turn out Laurie’s granddaughter lied to her friends about Michael being related, then the recent new trailer for “Halloween Kills” would make sense. She knows he needs to burn to make sure he’s dead. Then this is when I think phase 2 can take part because Halloween 2018 she was so overprotective of her daughter and training her to kill Michael. Could it be cause she lost her first daughter when she was 14 and faked her death in hopes of giving her daughter a better life??? I know sounds stupid but could be...

There's one thing that still doesnt make sense to me in the original timeline. Laurie's son was 17 in 1998 which means he was born in 1981, why would she fake her death and leave Jamie to go into foster care and keep her son?
If you go by the new Halloween Laurie had no son or Daughter named Jamie . Other than Halloween 1 and 2 the other ones never happened

I feel like the 2007 version is the best.. it shows in depth deep scenes when he was a kid and the transition to the killer he is.
I wish Rob Zombie’s Halloween was the prequel we really deserve. The first 35 minutes were really good showing him at the sanitarium and his descent to madness.

H20 is definitely the true and official ending to the original ending for the franchise. I read somewhere that Laurie's son from H20 was supposed to return in ressurection to get revenge on Michael for killing is mom, but the idea scrapped and continued on with the college reality show in the myers house.

Anyone else notice that in Halloween 2 that sheriff Lee Brackets sideburns are an inch shorter than they were in the original.
It's supposed to be the same night, so while Annie was being killed in her mother's car, Lee popped home to shave them a bit shorter.
Also Loomis's raincoat is a different design, shade and size to the original.
To say nothing of Laurie's wig.
And the theme music was played on a stupid keyboard instead of a chilling piano.

Well Halloween kills picks up from Laurie's house he escaped from the freaking Cellar while the house goes up in flames they got the girl that played Lindsay to come back and play the character again the girl that Laurie watches on the first holloween back in 1978 and they got anthony Michael hall playing Tommy Doyle laurie aslo watched him along with Lindsay on the first holloween there characters are comeing back so its going to be good

happens to bridge the gap between Halloween 4-6 and H20
and take place in the same universe, canceling out Resurrection.

Moustapha planned to OK a script for a Halloween 9 that would have connected them, but sadly the film died when he died
Halloween III was the first (and only real) attempt to make this an anthology series. It tells a completely new story, and a new "Halloween" story would come out every year. However, it didn't go well so Michael was brought back. But in a way, it is an anthology series, basically telling a lot of different unconnected stories stemming from the same oriignal film. Even Rob Zombie's pair of films have a place using that kind of reasoning.
I'm so glad I found this video, As I have never been able to understand the entire storyline by just watching the movies like you clearly just did.

I never thought that Halloween H20 necessarilly rebooted the previous films. I mean, we learned in Halloween 4 that Laurie had died and in H20 that she had faked her death. The only thing that was not clear is why she left Jamie while raised John. But maybe she gave her daughter away thinking that she would be safer and got pregnant from John only after she already had a new life. It's not so hard to understand

I'm going to say that the second movie is canon. Its just *more of the night HE came home* and its where we get the info that Michael and Laurie could possibly be related. Also, the first movie left off on a cliffhanger. While the second had Michael burn and Loomis pass from the fire. The fire is when they catch Michael to keep him forty years later. And yes, he didn't have burn marks I know, but I don't recall him having bullet holes either. Also, I liked the 2nd one better than the first

ITMeCE that’s because you’re prolly pretty young. I was born in 84 they started changing the bills in the mid 90’s cause of counterfeiting was so high. I still have a few 2 dollar bills from when i was a kid. This they stop circulating them in the 70’s.
The funny thing is is that Halloween H2O doesn't have to ignore 4-6 as it was explained that Laurie faked her death. Well her fake death need not make it a completely different storyline.

One thing I love about the Halloween story is how many branching timelines there are from the first movie alone there are 3 timelines the not siblings timeline leading to H2018 the Laurie dies Loomis lives timeline post H2 the Laurie lives Loomis Dies timeline post H2. Then we have the non meyers universe of H3 and the Rob Zombie Halloween universe. The story takes many turns and what ifs someone died it affects the latter events. Laurie dies in almost all the timelines eventually. Loomis dies in most of the timelines too.
You'd think a premise as simple as Michael Myers/Halloween wouldn't have 3 different existing timelines lol

2. Halloween, Halloween 2, H20, Resurrection
3. Halloween (1978), Halloween (2018) Halloween Kills, Halloween Ends

This is a classic example of going to far, you can only revive the same character so many times before it gets far too predictable and even boring. The very first Halloween scare the living daylights out of me, but with each successive movie, it became less and less scary and more and more predictable, until I lost interest altogether.

Michael Myers was stabbed in one eye during part 1. Then shot in both eyes during part 2. John Carpenter wasn't planning on his return and the major plot hole of him being blinded was never retconned.......that I know of.
But I’m happy they haven’t because his kills are elite!! And it makes sense they should make a “Halloween: Evil Dies” and call it a day.
