23:45 - From this response, seems to me like the issue of the "unbanked" is not being given enough consideration. It's likely that as something like this gains traction, private institutions regardless of bank or payment service provider etc, are going to review their risk exposure and cut off customers they see as too risky or cost more than they bring in. There should be some way for a person to receive and transact in the digital currency without depending on a for-profit enterprise. It's understandable that a central bank would not want the headache of providing a wallet but that's where open standards, interoperability and apis come into play.
At a minimum, there should be some sort of "free" basic wallet anyone can download and connect with the system. To the crypto crowd's credit, blockchain tech would have allowed for this.
What you think about bitcoin era ?
The only issue #tether features for minting all jamaican resources. Like pouring all jamaican cash / resources into 1 crypto account, which the token create of thin air ALL for the bank owner/ company owner.

This is going to be the future of Jamaica, and digital currency is going to take over from cash pretty soon,especially with more countries taking on or looking into crypto as their main currency.

So how does the “digital wallet” work??
One of the main value points of crypto currencies is the decentralization. It belongs to the people. What is going to be the difference between this digital currency and the regular fiat currency? I can already send and recieve funds from my phone what are we really gaining by investing into this digital currency?

I'm not a crytobro, but his dismissal of blockchain tech was misguided. There are practical limitations with using crypto for you central bank currency most important of which I think is complexity but I would not knock its security so easily. Best of luck.

Bitcoin is way more useful because it does not stay a fixed value even though the volatility your money can value way more the year after that's what I like,its two things actually companies working to improve the future thats what crypto is about.

If its not using a blockchain whats the minting process like?
"Minting" is just the term they use to describe the process, although technically it's not really minting. There are several layers of security and different people involved before the currency can actually be created. Eg. If any of the four specific people aren't there to enter their unique codes, no minting can take place

What I really want to know is since this is not crypto currency what is the difference between this and the fiat currency I can currently send from my banking app to pay Bills what's the incentive to switch? Can't the current platforms be expanded with new features to make pos transactions from my phone, etc?

Don't understand how ecurrency digital currency is safer than blockchain technology, no centralised network can be more safer than blockchain as it's decentralised meaning it's impossible to hack as the data storage is not centralised.
However I understand why CBDC are centralised, it has to do with control.
