In the name of all germans: Thanks for letting us have a proper Harrismonkey video again ! Makes waiting for Drive+ availability abit more bearable...Utterly beautiful machine...

Dear Getawayer, your videos are pretty good too man. And to be honest Harris fucked up by asking money for hos videos - have u seen how many dislikes these teaser get? I've been watching your videos for a while now, they're high quality too, but u wouldn't ask for money.. In my opinion, thats the way to go on youtube... And sorry for my bad English..
Well, that dude he talks to is kind of annoying, particularly when he tries to lay down the superlatives. He jumps in too much and ruins the video slightly.
Because they are haters, or they were looking for a different video, couldn't find it, ended up here, and got pissed off, so they gave it a dislike. If you are here for what the video is about, you cannot dislike, especially Chris being a great care reviewer for a number of reasons.
That is without a doubt one of the most beautiful "classic" Ferrari's ever made. Even though a 1956 car, it looks absolutely incredible, even by today's standards. And yes, that classic "French racing blue" paint job is stunning to say the least. One of my favorite Ferrari's of all time.
Wow, I genuinely think that this is the most beautiful Ferrari I have ever seen. I know the 250 GTO's and 250 testa Rosa's go for more money but this Tour de France is just so elegant and I totally agree with Chris and Max- that light blue is the perfect colour for that car. Ferrari should show this car to all of their current design team.
What an amazing video Chris, I was shocked with that peace of art, i think modern cars needs to be more like this one, all the feelings that it gives you in every speed and moment, shows the essence of motorsport and why there are people that love cars. Thanks!
I saw this magnificent Ferrari 250 TdF in Evo TV's video with Harry Metcalfe and I immediately fell in love with it. I'm glad Drive put this video of Chris Harris reviewing and even driving this beauty up for everybody because it deserves it. The car deserves it! Oh and by the way, finally a video of one of the best car reviewer out there that's longer than 3 minutes! Thank you for that.
I was very fortunate to ride in a original 1958 TDF several years ago. Was the first Ferrari I ever went in and it was quite an event! What a noise :D The last I knew, the owner was still competing in his car and driving it across Europe to it's races :D
this was a fantastic video. from film choreograph to editing, great job all around. whoever chose the shots for the interview...wow...i don't remember being entertained from perspective in a while.
Wow... One of the most beautiful cars in the world. Thank you Chris Harris for allowing me to see SOMEBODY enjoying this amazing machine. I'm so glad someone is.
The brakes are fed with a single Lockheed master cylinder . Some of the wheel cylinders are made with two different metals..know this, as the owner of 0969gt is a retired analytical chemist...who used a gas chromatograph to determine why they were seating up...dislike metals tend to corrode/oxidize. May be main reason why he doesn't have a responsive brake pedal. I drove his as the mechanic/transporter at FCA 2015 and found this same condition. 18 inch drum brakes, when they work, reported as good as a 60's corvette. Somes drums have six/eight fins that are there for cooling. Beautiful car!
I do quite like these classic car segments, and still think the mille miglia, goodwood revival, and pirelli tire launches were the best videos you guys did. Do sincerely hope more of that stuff comes up.
Chris Harris is an eloquent and considered presenter. Lovely descriptions of the experience, from his turn of phrase I can imagine the sounds and sensations of something I will never get to experience. Lovely thing.
Well constructed theory, my good Sir. Because clearly the demographic that usually buys these multi-million dollar beauties are the keyboard warriors that lament over 4$ sub fees. You most certainly gave me a reason to reach out for the trusty old tin foil hat as it has been gathering a bit of dust I must say.
Roshan Torcy I know what you mean, and I agree. However, if I was in the place where I could own a car like this, I would want everyone to know about the car and how wonderful it is. Those kind of videos, even if they're not directed towards the potential buyers of the cars, do add some value to them, I think.
Dear Chris after this episode I can without problem say that you have the most amazing journalist job on planet( Even considering top gear guys). That old Ferrari have more "soul" that any car produced in last 30-40 years. And to drive one of those have to be truly incredible experience. Keep the good work!
Chris makes it so hard to not hate him with every fiber of my being. Driving vicariously through him is the only way I’ll ever get to drive the amazing cars he does. Best auto journalist ever.
Good god, it is really beautiful and I can't say that for much cars. I don't know why so many people rave about the Jaguar E-Type, this is another level beauty!
What a brilliant video. My father and I both play cricket at Tilford and even learnt to drive on the roads around it! Hopefully you weren't caught out by that bugger of a bend just after the bridge!
This car is simply stunning. It is actually the first car that I have ever seen that I would say is worth every single cent paid for it. Will it go 0-60 in 2 seconds? No Will it top 269 MPH? No Will it pull 1 G in the corners? No Will it bring a tear to your eye, every time you look at it in the garage, and a put woody in your pants, every time you drive it? Yessir, and the world is better for it.
+1997TL1000 A quote from a TDF owner in the know. " Early in the video Chris Harris introduces Max Giardo from RM Auctions in Europe (www.rmsothebys.com/specialists/specialist.cfm?specialist_id=55) Max is a typical car salesman. He spews facts mixed with a generous amount of pure crap (but I know that he speaks fluent Italian). The car in the video is 0563GT. It was 5th in the 1957 TdF as car #171 (The TdF plate is placed on the trunk in the video but not mounted). It is the 19th car of 93 listed in John Starkey's second book (including 6 "interim" berlinettas). Max says "only 9 were produced". I don't know what he is counting. There were 11 without louvres plus the first 14-louver produced just in 1956. Max also says "Imagine driving 165 miles per hour on dirt roads." The top speed for a 3 liter TdF with the tallest gears is 158 mph. The TdF included 7 hill climbs (where most, if not all, of the dirt roads were) so most competitors used lower rear end ratios. At about 5:50 in the video, Chris Harris who is relatively short) is driving slowly on a one-way road through a small town in England. He says to Max "The brake pedal, I'm pushing it quite hard now, there's not much happening ....The brake pedal is remarkable for its lack of cooperation but you can't really get to it because this beautiful wood steering wheel kind of fouls your knees." When I was driving my car on a regular basis, it stopped as well as my 1960 Corvette with competition drum brakes. I am determined to get it back to that state." f
+wing walker Isn't that the thing about cars though? The mystery of a car and the history, mostly a bit foggy a few lies thrown in, "Oh yeah she'll do a thousand miles an hour in a pinch, but only on the third Sunday of the leap year of every other millennia." But my word, this thing is a think of beauty that just kinda, warps your sense of reality to the point where, piss poor mechanical engineering is simply forgiven. Just simply because of the aching beauty, and amount of wood it produces in your tingly bits.
+1997TL1000 Yes, an apt description of the effect of the Ferrari name itself. At FCA 2015 at Laguna, the 0969gt was in garage 2. A lady of about 45 vintage was dressed plainly, standing about 6 feet from the right door, for about 45 minutes without moving from the spot...I finally took a moment from the preparations and asked her if she would like to sit in the car...she came unglazed for a moment...said it would detract from the experience and declined the offer... without being rude, I would say i had just witnessed a Ferrari-gasm. When we were given access to garage two, I had been rushed to transport the car to Laguna, it had been setting hidden for 47 years. The owner provided his own loading ramps, a poor second to the ones he has now. The very finely dressed lady in garage 3 was laughing at our attempts to safely unload the car with these old ramps...until she saw the TDF safely on the tarmac...very quiet after that. Many different emotions espoused st the meet.
Great video, just curious though, all we have gotten here on the regular drive channel is Chris, i love his videos. However, the best thing drive has produced is likely spinneli's piece on the buried Ferrari, I would love to see more of his videos.

Chris Harris, in a super rare Ferrari, in an over 8 minute video, with HD quality, and people still thumb it down. Go figure....
Well, that dude he talks to is kind of annoying, particularly when he tries to lay down the superlatives. He jumps in too much and ruins the video slightly.

a beautiful piece of functioning art. Thank you for corralling the opportunity to share such a thing with us.
Stunningly beautiful old car.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful...... Achingly beautiful. Thanks, everyone involved in showing us this car.
Fantastic video! It just grasps with both hands what driving an older car is all about.
Holy sh*t, Chris is back with his marvelous videos? :O
the best part of these videos is watching people who like cars as much as I do. Glorious in every sense.
awesome as always, thank you for not putting it out on drive+, everyone should be able to watch a video of such a masterpiece

this was a fantastic video. from film choreograph to editing, great job all around. whoever chose the shots for the interview...wow...i don't remember being entertained from perspective in a while.

first Drive video I've watched in 2 months. I used to watch them every other day.

they look more or less the same size too dont they?
Thank you Chris for coming back to the old car review format.
Nice video, Chris thx
absolutely beautiful; the front fascia is gorgeous
The french blue color with the tri-color stripe is absolutely gorgeous.
This car is absolutely beautiful! The color scheme matches the car so well.

The 250 GT California Spider is the most beautiful car I have ever seen. If I am able to become a multimillionaire, I will definetley get one.

Amazing video "DRIVE", well done.
Just saw that at the Evo. Loving it!
Why aren't cars built like this anymore? Just as enthusiast cars?
Damn, it's so beautiful.

What a lovely sonorous sound...beautiful...and it stll must be quick with that power to weight ratio.
That blue colour is gorgeous

Driving around my area of the country :)
I know some of those roads.
Tilford!
It’s Adam ha fun to see you here too
Beautiful car
Images are great but have your sound engineer check sound overall because several videos with discussion theres a great disparity on volume picked up (the episode with buyong cars for your imaginary garage). I love your channel.
Thank you Chris Harris
This was a refreshing change!
beautiful
I was surprised & excited when read 8:36, but while watching I had fall-in-love feeling in and around the heart and almost end up in tears!
wonderful car, great garage, no drive+... nice job :)
Car porn at its finest. Oh this is pure art, humanity at its greatest. Oh to be a race car driver from the late 40s through the 60s
what a delight!
Do more classics like this :)

Go check out EVO checking out these cars, they are all on auction :)
I just notice that it was the guy from the RM auctions, i watched it live monday on evo's channel
next time make sure to bring a mic for the passenger Chris, but nice vid, beautiful car
Oh my god damn! A TDF! *mind blown*
I was going to add this beautiful machine to my "Cars I want if I was rich-list" but £5million is crazy a lot of money. I'll look for a 1:18 version :)
Wow, CH and Ferrari must be best buddies these days with all the Fez vids he's been shooting. Now that's a turn up for the books lol.
Wow! Chris is so well respected. Can't see Nick Trott getting a drive anytime soon.
