Just finished replacing my rotors on my 2012 Ford focus SE, THANKS TO YOU! Thanks so much for your help and clear instructions. Turning the wheel to work easier is a God send! I can't thank you enough sir! Liked and subscribed!
thanks for ur help mate. some dodge mechanic wanted to charge me 900 to do this. i ended up getting top quality parts and did it all myself for less than half that. this video was very helpful
This is why I make video. To be able to help others. 900 dollars is a lot of money. Good job on doing the job yourself. Thank you for your comment and for watching. I appreciate it!
Thank You for your guidance. You made everything helpful and entertaining. Especially on forgetting putting back the parts you forgot. When I was done the voice in my head said "make sure you put everything back in the right place" and you saved me a lot of $$$. Thank You
Watched this video mainly to replace pads, rotors and then had to look up how to replace the Caliper on driver's side. I really appreciate the video and I hope you keep up the good work. Still not a fan of the GFs Focus, but at least now I can replace brakes haha.
YEAH!!! The 007!! Look what Len started, that was so cool! I really liked this video and think it's one of the longest repair videos you have, GREAT WORK and explaining everything, you even showed them how all of us will make mistakes, it's alright, just keep at it. I like that aluminum jack, it looks brand new. It was not too long ago you had 100 subscribers, now you're at 170, man are we glad you are a friend of ours, GREAT JOB!
Yes Tim , it's the longest video I have ever made. I wasn't feeling well that day but I did it. I watched many of your videos so I learned alot from you. The Jack been with me a year. I just keep it clean. Lol. I said to my Rose the other day that by the summer we going to reach 1000 subscribers.
Hey thanks so much for the video, helped save me a ton of money! Also you explained it all pretty well, everything went smoothly and I was done before I knew it! Also I forgot the little metal piece that you also forgot about hahaha
Man excellent video!!! I have a 2014 Ford Focus SE and after watching your video and for guidance I can definitely say I can do this myself!!! Excellent video man!!!!! 5 Stars!
Great video I really appreciate it! One question. When you push the piston back in you leave the brake reservoir open? And then do you leave it open until you're done pumping the brakes? And then if need be, you add more fluid?
Yes, I do leave the reservoir open and then I check the reservoir to make sure it has enough fluid on it, if nee be I add fluid. Use safety at all times.
Awesome video! But i cant seem to get my rotors off....'12 focus sel....only diffrence i see in mine vs. Yours is thst i dont have the hex bolt in the center....am i missing something here or do i need to go grab my crowbar?
What I would do I will spray liquid wrench or WD40 around the rotor. Then I would hit the side of the rotor. I would only do this if I'm changing the rotors.
What an outstanding lesson! Your conversational style of commentary makes learning an absolute pleasure. Do you have one on the tire pressure sensor by any chance? I have changed my front right sensor on my 2010 Focus twice but it will not train. I don't know... Thank You. Sidney Stewart
You need a special tool to Register the tire pressure sensor. Whenever you start the Register process the special tool is pressed on the sidewall at the valve stem of LF>RF>RR>RL in that order.
Excellent video my friend, thanks for sharing. My question is, how do I know when is the moment to change the pads and when to change the rotors? Do they have to be replaced at the same time? I know that the rotors could be used with new pads. Thanks again
I depends on the brake pads you use. Brake pads should be able last you about 55,000 miles. The few ways to know if you need to change your brake pads. 1) Is the Indicator light is on. 2) Squealing noise. 3) Thin Brake pads 4) Low brake fluid. These are a few signs. The rotors don't have to be changed at the same time but its a good practice to do so.
I seriously just replaced the front pads & rotors today on my 2012 ford focus & this video was helpful but not 19mm for bracket holding pads, its 18mm. Maybe he was thinking about the lug nuts which use 19mm socket.
Really important question... When your pressing your brake pedal a couple of times to tighten everything up, do you still leave the reservoir cap off or do you put it back on and then press your brake pedal?? Thanks.
When I did the brake job exactly as you did it, my rotors were pretty tight and would barely spin unless I forced it. Is this normal at first because the pads are fresh? Or should I be concerned ?
Exactly what I needed. Thanks for taking the time to do this video! I bought a floor jack. Could have bought 5 floor jacks with the money I saved.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate it🔧

@@NoneMechanic101I'm replacing my pads again. Came back to your video for reference. Why is there music playing over your voice? I can't hear you.
@@88unstopable This was one of my first videos. I didn’t know much back then about videos. The music wasn’t a rookie mistake. Sorry about that

Yeah the mk3 focus especially the auto trans was a disaster. I own one... worst car ever. Shoulda went toyota or honda.
Great job one handed. I can now feel that I can do this to my daughters car. Thanks for filming this
Thank you for watching! Let me know how it goes.
I enjoyed your teaching very through. At first the music was to loud. But you did a great job. Thank you
This is one of my first videos. At the time I didn't think much about the music. I learned from it.
Just helped a buddy do this today. Watched your video after to make sure I did it all right. Great video man. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching. Great job!
Great video bud! Just got my pads and rotors and now I feel confident to do by myself! Thanks!
Did you did the job?
Torque spec for caliper bracket bolts is 129lb-ft. Quoting the service manual
Thank you for the information. It is going to help a lot of people.
Ive done many brake jobs in a few different vehicles but like to be sure what exactly im getting in to. You helped a lot thanks 👍

Well done Hector, filming with one hand and everything.
You're right Len, he's gotten really good with the one hand filming, and I know that's not easy.
Ty for the vid!!! you helped me and my pop figure out these breaks and rotors never seen that little wire of metal before this set

I cleaned everything and painted everything black . It made it look better than stock.
Black is nice color.I have never paint rotors but I thought about it.
Thank you! I know how much harder it must have been doing this one handed so you could film at the same time
You're welcome. The job does get harder filming and doing the job.
Opening the brake valve lid is a good thing to do before doing this to keep your line okay great video thou learned a lot thank you!

Is the process for the rear brakes the same way? I also have a 2012 Ford Focus SE, but I need all 4 brakes done.
If I remember correctly the rear are drum brakes
It's about the same but if it's like the sel you'll need a specialty tool to get the piston to go back in. Autozone has it.
Most excellent video!
Thank you!
i loved your video you just did it so natural keep it up

@@NoneMechanic101 you welcome .. i just have a question what are the size of the both bolts ( from the caliper and the one on the brake pads)

Yes, I took the reservoir cap off before I push the caliper pistons in.
Thanks for the video

Nice bro safety 👌
Thanks
This video would be a thousand times more beneficial without that background music that's so loud
I'm sorry about that
The music wasn't even a problem since it only lasted like 2 minutes in the beginning. This guy just being a troll...
NoneMechanic101 hey my guy dont worry about this guy he just trolling
hi are you sure they are t45 and not a 7mm hex I did this car today at my shop and they were 7 mm hex
I used a T45

It works best with the reservoir closed

NoneMechanic101 yeah the actor / comedian.

T45? Mine are 7mm hex...

Where the rotors tight while driving?
When taking off the rotors my 2012 sel had 18 mm bolts.
Thanks
Thanks for making the video its very helpful, now I can do it on my father's car, what was the head hex size?
T45. Thank you for watching. Let me know how it goes.
7mm I think, saw it in another video
great video...... thanks
You're welcome🔧
Just an FYI. The "parts" and things" that are holding the lads are called the caliper and bracket.
Thank you sir
Is there anyway you can crank up the music?
Yes Sir, The music only last about 2 minutes.
Thanks bruuuh
You’re very welcome 👍🏼🔧
Don’t push the bolts out with a screwdriver. It can mess up the threads. Use your thumb nail. They move real easy.
Thank you for the tip.
Y’all wish me luck I’m a single mom and can’t afford to pay someone to replace my breaks I’m gonna give this a try! ( will update)
