Jennifer Jason Leigh is so awesome. She nailed that role!
She reminds me of Holly Hunter for some reason.
And Kurt Russell nailed that 150Year old Guitar 😉
I LOVE HER!!
Phenomenal performances all around in the film, especially Goggins, Jackson and Leigh. This and "Spotlight" make an excellent argument for why the Academy need to have a Best Ensemble Oscar.
+Will C How were Kurt Russell and Tim Roth?
+msacca I want Tim Roth to be good so badly... I'm not even sure why. He just looks awesome in the trailer.
+Will C How have people and critics already seen this film?
+Tom Laveign I'd say a sizable number.
Will C Where can I watch it though?
Quentin Tarantino is the greatest filmmaker of our time. Everything he does is truly amazing.
Samuel Jackson deserves an oscar, his performance in h8 was even better than his pulp fiction performance.
+Jacob Cass Agreed.
It sure was.
insane performance..
@Berk Kahveci nah just for the quote of the bible
@@luisalonso959 not a quote of the bible man.
Kurt and Samuel most definitely deserve Oscar nods for their performances. Absolutely fantastic film!
JJL will always be remembered as Daisy!! Even she said the role was her resurrection in Hollywood.. she is simply the very best in her profession!!
They failed to nominate Quentin for best original screenplay though. The academy's decisions are laughable sometimes.
No no no let's not start talkin politiiiics....
Spotlight was a powerful piece as well. Tarantino is a better craft, but Spotlight could draw power from reality. It was an unfair fight. I'd have voted for Spotlight too, despite knowing that The Hateful Eight is probably a better script. We can argue back and forth but in reality, movies serve a purpose that transcends art.
@@barzmcneil5839 Who talked politics ?
Gellert_ TV it’s from the movie
@@huckleberrylachow2202 From the doctor in Joker ? I don't think he's taking a line from the movie for this comment
The maestro Ennio Morricone deserves an Oscar
+1221GUMERZINDO - well, he finally got it!
Quentin explains his inspiration for the film perfectly.
I fell in love for Tarantino when I was 8 years old, and this is actually the best thing that could've happened to me. Nowadays, my taste for movies changed so dramatically, his geniality inspired me to love cinematography even more.
Thanks Quentin!
You're the best director to me!
Man, I love u so much.
What movie did you watch at 8 years old that made you fall in love?!
I'm genuinely curious.
I'm so glad this is gonna be near three hours 😃
Movie deserves an Oscar and Best director for Tarantino
Another Tarantino classic! He just keeps on churning them out in pristine fashion shape and form!Another engrossing experience!
Walton Goggins should bring home the Oscar! Amazing job!
Feral, and extraordinary! She's most of the reason I plan to watch this movie over and over again!
.
I saw it twice in 70mm, and It was beautiful to say the least. It was a very classical feeling cinema experience. If any movies are released in 70mm in the near future, I recommend driving whatever distance you have to. Completely worth it.
I adore H8. I don’t care that it is often at the bottom of “the best QT movies” lists. For me, it is perfection!
what a movie!! instant classic
Jennifer should've won 10 oscar just for that performance alone!!
Love that Daisy bit at the end, didn't know acting was like that.
"...there is no moral center." -- LOL well said. Geez.... for three hours. It got unpredictable and intense.
Wouldn't it be great if JJL won an Oscar?
I would love to see it. I guess similarly to the way people reacted to Patricia winning last year, of which I didn't approve or have any real emotional investment in.
+akaElleLatham It was seriously
Rooney Mara has gotten the most hype. She is highly favored.
+Tyler Durden hopefully the Acedemy will see it that way.
...yes it would be. But how many times have we've seen fierce-full talented actors go empty handed at the Oscars. I'm still rooting for her, for she actually deserves it for her spectacular body of work.
Walton Goggins carried the movie to me. Far and away.Hateful reminded me of High Chapparel.
Can Tarantino FINALLY win Best Director?
+Chandler Aldrich Not even nominated :(
+Chandler Aldrich He does't have to. Some people are bigger then the awards
+LordRacing16 True
***** that's called being polite :D
His movies are considered cult....so there's actually some people who don't like his movies...to which I think they can just go fuck a camel...anyway....also his movies contains comparatively more racial substance and the academy are kind of butthurt about those...maybe someday!
Very interesting panel. For a movie as fascinating and long as THE, there should be one that lasts at least three hours, but hey. The ending with SLJ talking about the Daisy character was just epic.
I love you, Quentin.
A lot of Tarantino fans in the audience.
And THAT Martin Guitar that got smashed up was also a priceless original from the museum. OOOPSY POOPSIE
0:46 QT : "I liked the TV Western episodes that had special guests stars like Robert Culp, James Coburn, Vic Morrow ..." Interestingly enough, Vic Morrow was Jennifer Jason-Leigh's father ! Think maybe QT's was making an obscure TV western reference by hiring Morrow's daughter for his big western movie "inspired by old TV episodes" ? ;)
JJL should get an oscar. I have been having nightmares ever since i saw this movie. That blood splattered face and those ghost eyes! Oh man!!
the hateful eight disliked this video
You win at life with that joke
the magnificent 7 have also disliked
looool the end of this interview is hilarious
These talks are fantastic amazing even so many years later
QT IS THE GOAT
IQ 160. can hear that in every sentence. big respect for that bright and shiny spirit. mr. tarantino is an awesome person.
Leigh deserves not just a nomination but an Oscar
I gotta drive at least an hour to get to the closest theater to me showing the 70mm version in those first 2 weeks... I think it might be worth it.
+Deathbrewer Hell yes, I was planning on flying to visit a brother in LA just so I could see it, until they announced a theater in Denver. It is worth it.
+Deathbrewer As an experience, watching the 70 mm cut was fun and interesting. I loved the film, but i wouldnt have cried or been upset had I seen it in a regular multiplex without an intermission.
+Deathbrewer I live in England, had to travel 7 hours by coach and stop overnight in London to see it because it was only playing in 70mm in one theatre but by god was it worth every second.
Quentin is just amazing dude and talented 10x over ! Just think of all his movies and all his movies actors in them ! All grade "A" ! Plus all his movies you can watch it more then once and time after time ! when ever you feel like something different ! He is original and very creative in the same time and that makes him unique like all of his films and they all good block buster and entertaining ! I love all his movies ! After " Down till Dusk " When I herd his name I just automatically went and watched his news new block buster movies cause I knew with confidence that is going to be kick ass good ! I hope for many years to come he makes more movies like the others ! May be even a movie / year ! What ever he puts his mind to it guaranteed it will knock your socks off and you will be entertained ! Keep up the awesome job Quentin !
Fantastic film. Great acting and writing. Not surprised no nominations happened. The Academy nominates genres over actual performance (in other words, biopic or "special message" movie? You're nominated.). Russell, Leigh (especially), and Jackson should've nominated. Hell, the whole cast. As someone else said, they really should add a 'best ensemble' award.
It's probably just me but when Tarantino says "Vic Morrow" I sensed a vibe of "Oops!" right after he said it, given Jennifer Jason Leigh was there.
Tarrantino won oscar:D
He madness fucking genius)
tarantino: "in paticulary"
Quentin's characters are not Oscar type but with his directing and talents of the actors, they can outshine the other candidates.
I love you, Quentin
all this praise for JJL only to beat the crap out of her in this movie. ha ha ha
I saw the movie yesterday. It has some amazing performances. In particular, Jennifer Jason Leigh gives a riveting performance as a murdering gang member named Daisy Domergue, who has been apprehended by a bounty hunter (played by Kurt Russell) who is transporting her to prison to be executed. This movie is over three hours long but the suspense and action keep you entertained throughout. The movie is filled with a lot of violence and profanity. It's an "equal opportunity offender"- it contains enough controversial material to offend everyone. The offensive material contained in the movie includes: violence against women; racism towards African Americans; racism towards Mexicans; violence against the elderly; sodomy; and excessive use of force by law enforcement officials. It also tackles some positive things like the camaraderie that develops between people from different backgrounds, when faced with a common threat/ enemy. #TheHatefulEight #QuentinTarantino
sodomy??
It's a film set in 19th century, the world then *was* offensive.
It's like saying that films picturing horrors of concentration camps are offensive for Holocaust survivors. They're actually quite the opposite.
Everything about this film was atleast 8+. Every aspect of the film!
That's so fucking awesome 😂
I NEED TO SEE THE HATEFUL EIGHT
It's a beautifully shot film where you don't like any of the characters. As for the men, they are well developed but we needed more from Daisy. Overall I would give it 4/5. It's about 3 hours and not Quentin's best work; those are the reasons that this movie has not been a financial juggernaut.
Wow!
Would the audience consider Hateful Eight the magnum opus of Quentin Tarantino? I would.
i didn't see the version with the intermission, when in the movie does the intermission occur?
+cerniglia65 After Sams story with the generals son.
Jonatan Timson Oh ok that makes sense. So the start of the second act is when tarantino starts narrating?
Yeah, it was perfect.
+Jonatan Timson It's almost an inside joke with the audience, when Quentin says "It's been 15 minutes..." That's essentially the length of the intermission!
+Hard Boiled Entertainment Ha! Never noticed that!
If this is Tarantino's best work, and his best chance at an Oscar, then he will be disappointed. (maybe cinematography) The actors aren't at fault. Russell is good as well as Leigh, Jackson and Dern. And it's not the violence either. No Country For Old Men was violent but the entire movie and all the characters were compelling. I'd give it 3 thumbs up but best picture movies need all 4 thumbs up.
All of Tarantino's Oscars are for screenplay (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained) but none for best movie I don't think.
Yes, that's his forte'.
MrDrmillgram he is the best writer in the industry
yeah just cut it off somewhere ill imagine the rest of the interview
Jennifer jason leigh got robbed at the oscars. All the actors were great
Tarantino always looks like he has never taken a shower
Wait, what did Gladstein mean when he said "2 weeks plus"? Is he saying that the 70mm version will be playing for 2 weeks before the multiplex version comes out in January? Or did he mean 2 weeks prior, which is Christmas?
+MovieLover Hito It means the 70mm version will play in those select theaters for at least 2 weeks. Least, that's how I heard it.
Ok thanks!
Yeeeeeeeesss
Satya nadela also fan of Quentin?
wow
Few movies are as enjoyable enough to me to see a couple of times, but this movie is the type I can't see enough, I'm addicted to the whole movie, the whole movie is sitting in anticipation for the next chapter BUT, the forced oral rape of the bag guy even if it was deserved It's not something I needed that much detail about or needed to see played out instead of inferred.
Jennifer's hot
if no one in the cast wins an Oscar they atleast gotta get an award at Dave chapelle's hater's ball.......hate! Hate! Hate! Hate!
i will give Daisy the best cunnilingus🔥🔥
The Mexican character was weak, it would have been awesome with an Eli Wallach type from the good the bad and the ugly. Kurt Russells character for me, was the closest and best portrayal of an archetypal "western" character, honorable mention to Jennifer Jason Leigh also :)
I thought Bob the Mexican was fantastic and Demian Bichir the perfect choice. He was supposed to be a "bad actor" and suspicious from the very start.
Quentin is the best!!! Awesome movie!!
It's a shame that everyone is bitching about the lack of diversity in the nominations but nobody is talking about how The Hateful Eight got snubbed.
Reservoir Dogs is a mystery. why did he say he never has done a mystery story?
Well, not really, because it isn't long before Tim Roth is revealed to be the cop, so not too much build-up is allowed to flow.
+Holo The Hogan Johnson yeah...
I think Jennifer stole the show
hoo gosh!!! wht kind of drugs they take, i want the same !!!!!!!!!!!
its just a mole, no need to clean the screen
TOO MANY MISTAKES IN THIS MOVIE, I COUNT 38.
"Mr Tarantino" : How come nobody pays for anything at this place?......oops.
Quentin Tarantino is playing 4D chess while everyone is playing solitaire. Instead of using rooks, pawns, knights, and queens; he uses Sam Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, & Michael Madsen.
Checkmate.
After rewatching this film last week I saw Tarantino as basically raging against his whiteness and his maleness in varying degrees all through his filmography.
I through she had killed him 🤔
what a black male
Tarantino's hairstyle is the worst I've ever seen.
that's such a big deal...
+jj cc So...? Who gives a shit!!
hateful was a let down QT im worryed i had to watch pulp so i did not freak out.
too bad the movie is a long boring joke.
+mang kanor Hahahah nah
+mang kanor Hahahah nah
+mang kanor lol
u a fagboi mah good friend
I thought it was far too long and Tarantino has made one movie too far. Lacked humour, relied only on violence. Disappointing.
WRONG
