@@Bobthestraightguy Not bad - big wheels and decent suspension parts mean it’s better than an Interceptor and different league from an American cruiser retro.
@@Bobthestraightguy I'm not sure I got anywhere near the top speed but the engine has a nice balance between vibes to offer a bit of character without shaking the mirrors off their mounts or the fillings from your teeth. I've not ridden the BSA Gold Star yet but I'd imagine it'll be smoother than that bike's big single.
That super meteor frame sticks out like a sore thumb, the matte black look of it clashes with the bike and it has cruiser proportions that don't quite look right to me.
Pity we don't see modern retro cars, cars today look boring and driving them is boring. It's good to see so many modern retro bikes, when we say retro we really mean normal because this is how bikes should look in my opinion. The Triumph 400 is a nice bike and so is the new Honda GB 350s, never though I'd see Honda make anything else other than transformer style sport bike or sport tourer so hopefully this is a sign of things to come from Honda, it got so bad I thought they fired their design team ! Anyway, this new RE will be out of my price range for now so I'm on the lookout for a 650 or 700 Deauville , sure no looker but nice and old and if I get the 650 I'll have a choke, this is what's missing on modern bikes, the classic rawness of an old no electrics carb bike with choke lol. I wouldn't mind the CBF600 with integrated panniers either.

@@nikhil.k8938 Not sure, we didn’t have any tech info on the day but it’s not going to be anything spectacular given the power and weight. But not really what it’s built for, right? It feels about ‘right’, and fast enough to be fun.
@@kevindarkstar Possibly, but I’d again argue top speed is probably the least significant metric for judging bikes like this. More about smiles per hour than miles per hour, to coin a phrase.
Not a fan of this one... I have the Interceptor and a 2010 500 Bullet. This looks like they took the left over 500 Bullet units and stuffed a 650 twin in the frame.
"A proven engine" ? where are all the Interceptors with 100,000 miles on the clock? Since the Interceptor was launched in 2019 it has only been "proven" that they can make it to 10,000 miles when ridden gently on sunny afternoons.
It is funny to see Brits disowning & disassociating themselves from RE brand & then when the brand was rebuilt & brought to new renewed heights in India & now Brits are tryna to renown it by saying words "Riffing on a similar classic British vibe" lol 😉😂 classic case hypocrisy
The word "classic" in relation to motorcycles, cars etc. is generally used to describe a vehicle of some age (not new) with a valued history i.e. not junk. The current use of the cheap looking retro Royal Enfield plastic tank badges being stuck on the plethora of "motorcycles" oozing out of the Indian sub-continent hardly makes these bikes being "classic". Indian produced Bullet's of any variety will never be regarded as true Classic's. The only RE bike truly deserving of Classic status is the 700cc Constellation, none of the current RE badged jiggly built piles of cachu resemble anything that will ever become a Classic with a big "C".........P.S. My very first bike (purchased in 1964) was a 1960/61 250cc Royal Enfield Crusader Sports, a sort of "mini" Constellation hence my reverance towards the RE of days gone by and total distain towards the cheap crap produced under that name today.
Your bike history absolutely validates that opinion ... but I'll respectfully disagree and maybe we can meet in the middle somewhere, if that's OK! And celebrate the fact Royal Enfield builds bikes like this, and folk seem to want to ride them.

Hi Dan hows the riding comfort level, especially over rough roads? Is it good or bad on bumps and rough surfaces??
@@Bobthestraightguy Not bad - big wheels and decent suspension parts mean it’s better than an Interceptor and different league from an American cruiser retro.
@midlifecrisismotorcyclist thank you. Any vibrations or shakes or other issues at top speed???
@@Bobthestraightguy I'm not sure I got anywhere near the top speed but the engine has a nice balance between vibes to offer a bit of character without shaking the mirrors off their mounts or the fillings from your teeth. I've not ridden the BSA Gold Star yet but I'd imagine it'll be smoother than that bike's big single.
@midlifecrisismotorcyclist Thank you Dan.
Beautiful 😍❤️ no dought it becomes my favourite
Do they hold up?
That super meteor frame sticks out like a sore thumb, the matte black look of it clashes with the bike and it has cruiser proportions that don't quite look right to me.
Bro ,how about gear shift ratio with speed...whats the minimum speed to put top gear
Will pillion seated be introduce too?
Im hoping this gets to the United States before terriffs take effect and jack the price up.
I heard the suspension is bad(too stiff) esp. in the rough roads, is it true?
@@1234fazermann I’m afraid I can’t comment on that - the roads we were on were all pretty decent. The suspension is of better quality than the Interceptor and Conti GT as well.
Great looking machine
Now if Royal Enfield would make a modern version bmw r80 gs, have cash, will travel.
Nice. Real nice.
You riding through Alston? Also, do I recognise Beamish Museum too? 😂
I'm pretty certain he was on the dropdown from Hartside to Alston.
No offence, but how did you with less than 4k subscribers get in on the bike that early, before even the launch?
@@CornishMotorcycleDiaries UA-cam isn’t my only outlet for my reviews and my good relationship with Royal Enfield is built on my wider work as much as my vids.
And the handlebar looks different and good.
hmmmm... looks more Harley than RE. Good review though.
I just don't get it, while it's a gorgeous bike and the 650 very welcome, it's as if someone in Royal Enfield said " look lads, I know it's a retro bike but we can't let it out without the modern touch so lets stick on a small TFT display"
FFS, the TFT screen is completely out of character with such a beautiful bike, I'd much rather see an analogue fuel gauge !!!!
I'm getting one of these😂
❤❤❤
nice motor
Wish it had a kick start
Classic English Harley Davidson 😊
Thump sound missing
What is the top speed
@@nikhil.k8938 Not sure, we didn’t have any tech info on the day but it’s not going to be anything spectacular given the power and weight. But not really what it’s built for, right? It feels about ‘right’, and fast enough to be fun.
I'd think it's a little bit less than a shotgun or supermeteor 🤷🏻♂️
@@kevindarkstar Possibly, but I’d again argue top speed is probably the least significant metric for judging bikes like this. More about smiles per hour than miles per hour, to coin a phrase.
Same engine as my interceptor, so will do a 100mph.
I don't recommend it though! 😂
@ It’s got better suspension, brakes and tyres than the Interceptor at least!
Only 1zylinder sounds cool.
wow.. its got rear mudguard :)
Bring out a 1200cc
Looks a bit like a cruiser, it's not the bike style wise I was hoping for !
Just another tarted up Interceptor. This classic should be a single cylinder engine of 500/650cc with some character.
Not a fan of this one... I have the Interceptor and a 2010 500 Bullet. This looks like they took the left over 500 Bullet units and stuffed a 650 twin in the frame.
Messed up the console
helicopter engine sound? 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Best to remove a spark plug for that!
At 6.47 have you been taken over by the Mysterons?
@@melvincain5012 Haha! I think that must be the bit where I turned my head and got a gust up my helmet … so to speak! 😂
"A proven engine" ? where are all the Interceptors with 100,000 miles on the clock? Since the Interceptor was launched in 2019 it has only been "proven" that they can make it to 10,000 miles when ridden gently on sunny afternoons.
They will sell boat loads of these.
Terrible mudguards
It is funny to see Brits disowning & disassociating themselves from RE brand & then when the brand was rebuilt & brought to new renewed heights in India & now Brits are tryna to renown it by saying words "Riffing on a similar classic British vibe" lol 😉😂 classic case hypocrisy
This was badly needed…
What's with the name of this channel 😂
