Every time I watch Anoushka play I fall in love with her all over again. Her playing lead me into sound meditation, which has opened unimagined spiritual vistas. She is a Divine Being, and I believe her father recognized her.
When this sitar was commissioned, Pt Ravi Shankar had Nodu Mullick build another instrument, a Surbahar, for Vid. Annapurna Devi. These two instruments were not only unparalleled in their craftsmanship but also in the hands of musicians who were beyond the reach of any other, in their respective genres. The British Museum could contact the Annapurna Devi Foundation and try to preserve her instrument as well, for the benefit of posterity.
I was Lucky enough to have a glance at Surbahar of Great Annapurna Devi Ji which is in safekeepings of Annapurna Devi Foundation ! That instrument is worshipped there and Pt.Nityanand Haldipur ji takes utmost care to Protect that instrument ❤❤
Great to know and see the Guruji of Pt.ji .What devotion Pt.ji must have had in learning on those days! Incomparable art! My Pranam to his soul. Such artists actually reach the level of Rishis( Seers, Saints, close to God because they Create. This is what I have learnt from Osho, in whose commune at Pune India Pt.ji used to perform very often.
This is my request to owner of British museum, please return this beautiful sitar to Anushka again ....... Because for a mother ..... His/her son or daughter can't be separated. For an artist ,his instrument is act as his life, it can't be left as alone...... It is a punishment for sitar who always serve its best through his artist's fingers....... Kindly free this beautiful instrument..... Let it serve for melodious listeners of this beautiful world.......Amen..... My Dear Jesus or any God from this world bless us..... The sitar in hands of panditji in photos and recordings is not this one. It had different design on neck if you see carefully. I think it his second sitar
All is well, m a great fan of Pt Ravi Shankar. But what is Nodu Mallik? Is it about nodules?, A Naru(Laddu eaten by the Malliks and others) or a not so aware person who was named as such for unknown reasons by his parents? Well from Anuska we could know. Hi there Nodu!

I find it exceedingly sad that this great instrument is now silenced forever. As a musician, I find this to be an awful fate for any fine instrument.
I would be privileged to go to that place and play pandit Ravishankar ji's sitar in his gharana (Seniya-Maihar style)....☺️🙏🏾😔🙏🏾
