How to Reset Your TI-84/83/82/85/86 Calculator to default settings - YouTube

If your calculator is giving you an error and not functioning correctly then just reset it to factory settings. Most of the time this will resolve the problem.

You can also reset all ram to fix issues if reseting to default does not work, it will not erase apps

You don’t have you clear your calculator. You just have to type the cleared message into your notes and pull them up whenever you’re asked to “ reset your calculator”. This will save your notes so you can use them later on.

On my TI-86, the memory key is yellow #3, the menu comes up on the bottom of the screen, but how do i scroll over to select reset?

For the TI-86, so a couple of hours later, to restore factory set, turn on calculator, press yellow second button, press three (memory), press F3 (selects reset), press F1 (selects all) get "Are you sure?" message, press F4 for Yes, get "Mem cleared Defaults set" on screen, press yellow 2nd and on buttons to turn the calculator off.
