There was a quick scene of the painting of Rome showing a child breastfeeding off it's dead mother. Then there's the legend of Romulus and his twin brother Remus, nursing off a she wolf as Infants.
I thought this Xenoengineer was the most scary thing in this movie
Smart move from writers introducing this thing. He really looks grotesque. And, as he looks like the engineer, there is hope for Prometheus and Covenant storyline.

Yeah that’s was my only complaint. I would of been happy if it ended when they showed the baby, would of been a nice cliffhanger to an amazing film but instead they just rushed the shit out of that ending

I think the thing that disturbed us the most about it was we were expecting a xenomorph, but it had a human face.
Man that subtle reveal, the whole lead up and tear rolling down on the face from her reaction, to the cut to the thing watching them from the door was pure nightmare fuel. Now THATS how you do a scary movie in 2024

I would imagine Android blood or fluid plays a vital factor in maintaining the integrity of other structures of the Android like it’s “skin” in the same way blood does for humans.

Everything was great about Alien Romulus except the bizarre ending and monster.
Once they left the station the movie was just head shakes and sighs of disappointment. The ending ruined an ok to good Alien movie for me.
After xenomorh, protoalies, facehuggers and now this xenoengineer, I can only imagine a chat between some originals engeneers. It would be on the line: " man, that android david was really pissed off with his people."
Soooo this is what I put together, the pregnant lady who injected herself with the black goo gave birth to a Engineer/alien. If the bio extract was taken from a Engineer instead of the parasite we might’ve seen the natural birth of a Engineer. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve seen the movie but the ending is the only thing that confuses me a little. The black goo is supposed to be the life in its primal unadulterated form which I think is a mistake; it came from the parasite because it was mentioned the parasite was bioengineered. Meaning It does contain the essence of life in its entirety but also what makes the aliens “alien”. If it had been extracted from a Engineer the result would’ve been different that’s why the alien Looked like a mix of the Engineer and had the tail , double mouth , back and other features of a Zenomorph. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but I’m feeling spot on. I’ve seen the alien franchise and love the Prometheus movie.
The black goo is a biological weapon created by the engineers. I feel like the characters/androids don’t realize this. He was able to extract its pure form because David used it to originally create the xenomorphs. It is still a biological weapon in its original form that the engineers were going to use to exterminate/replace humans.
@@alexstone9024 I get that 💯% my curiosity come in when we see the Engineer/Zenomorph hybrid at the end. The android that told Andy what it was wasn’t wrong though. They wasn’t supposed to let her inject herself with the raw black goo. It was only tested on mice that’s why they was told to take it back to the colony. But I do remember something being said about the goo speeds up stuff hence the girl having her baby a couple hours after she self injects. Maybe the Morph Hybrid we see at the end is the Evolution the Android was eluding too. The evolution(weapon) that would’ve killed the rest of mankind???🤔🤔

But definitely David wasn't the original creator. If there even was one. I'm afraid the chicken or the egg question is best left open ended on this one.
The black goo was basically an extract from the xenomorph which was extracted to combine with human DNA and make the humans superior (final step in evolution)
Aside from the last 10 minutes this was an amazing alien movie
As someone who’s seen all the Alien movies, Prometheus, Covenant, and now Romulus, I have a question. What more would you want from this movie? I’ll admit that there were a few missed opportunities in the movie, as well as some bad reuse of iconic lines, and the ending will be a mixed bag but what are you as a fan or enjoyer of the Alien films looking for? Cause too much of Alien or Aliens is just nostalgia bait and condemned, and for some, Prometheus and Covenant were just way too different. Alien 3 I just didn’t care because the inmates and setting was boring and Resurrection for me was just crap. So as someone who enjoyed Alien and Aliens, this movie will scratch that itch for setting and feeling to a certain point. That creature at the end was creepy in that it seemed to enjoy what it was doing and its remorseless design just added to that.
Biggest thing is how it ties into aliens. I don't think they did a good enough job. Maybe movie needed to be longer and show more of what happened in space travel after Romulus crash. Maybe have ship picked up by company where they take black goo and end it there. Or maybe the ship lands on lv426 in emergency and it is rains black goo that creates aliens in the second movie aliens. If they don't do a sequel to this movie kinda don't know what happens to rain and synthetic.
I was fine with ALL of the movie except that last hybrid thing. Ruined the movie for me, honestly.

The last act of Romulus made the movie good. I don’t care what anyone says, the hybrid was creepy af. That dude was nightmare fuel 😂 I didn’t genuinely feel scared until that guy showed up. I understand some people think they should just stick to the classic xenomorphs but we’ve already seen them so many times, I don’t think there’s a problem with mixing things up. I thought the film was a great balance of new and old. We still got classic xenomorphs and something new that was actually good. People comparing the hybrid to the one in resurrection are ridiculous, the one In resurrection looked like a melted ice cream 😂

I think Alien Romulus is a perfect ending to a rocky franchise, Its just showing that no matter what this is just how interactions with a Xenomorph and its history end, beat case Wayland never gets their hands on the Xenomorph and everyone who interacts with it dies quickly

Exactly. It's a 6-8 out of ten movie, depending on how generous you are. For comparison, Alien and Aliens: are 10 out of ten films. It's a good movie. Very good even. But it's not great. Probably the best of the rest though.

Amazing twists and such were done in Prometheus and Covenant and those stories sucked. This was back to basics with a lead-out to a possible 2nd film. It’s in the 2nd film where u should introduce new ideas, problems 4 the protagonist to overcome (or not overcome)

My theory for the sequel weyland yutani intercepted Rain and Andy's ship captures them. So they retrieve the compound and interrogate Rain and Andy.
As that happens Kay's character comes back from the dead and later mutates. As compound Z01 brought a crushed dead mouse from the dead and repair it's broken bones that also mutated later into a xenomorph hybrid.
So Kay could possibly turn into some kind of Alien Queen hybrid and cause mayhem?

The new creature design was absolute nightmare fuel I loved it. This choice was so ballsy but it really paid off. Its the one thing about this movie I really loved full on. It actually scared me a little. The fact that Kay actually gave birth and it didnt come through her chest gives me chills of potential abuse in further movies. Imagine what Wayland would do with such information? Ugh not good.

Since this is before aliens I thought the ship would’ve crashed on the mining planet and then the ship where the girl injected herself would crash there too. And then we’d see how an alien queen would take over. Then years later that’s when the aliens movie would come into play. I disagree, i think the ending is fantastic and how they connect prometheus and Original Alien 1.
You hate the newborn design because it was too human and the birth scene was too uncomfortable. But this is something that H.R Giger would probably imagine, though he hated how grotesque his own "Nightmare" is.
Was definitely creepy but really didn’t make sense why it looked like an engineer at all .. no matter how much you try and convince me.
So safe to assume 3 possibilities following this movie.
A: the survivors drift in space for eternity hence we never hear of them again.
B: they arrive safely at their destination and live in isolation until their death / termination.
C: the company finds them, recovers the black goo which is still on the ship. And we get a second betweenquel based on whatever that story will be.

Well the biggest mystery still continues , howndidnthe juggernaut ship filled with eggs make it to LV426? Also does this mean given hownthe original xenomorph "cocooned" itself per say while in drifting apparently throught space; does that mean the Alien Queen can do the same after being blown out of the airlock? Also how did the queen come to be to begin with when all the xeno variants have started from an infected host?
This is kind of the reason i wanted the sequel to covenant to be made because they actually had a big plot with a sort of war between David, the engineers and possibly introducing the marines in part by weyland Yutani if they went that route because no other movie has gone through that kind of introduction, its still in limbo and the repeated formula of infection and xenomorph causing chaos only to be blown out of some airlock is kinda killing the series for me personally and i think that is holding up the appeal of any reboots or sequels
Thie only question I have that I am confused about? What was that rock they took from the Nostromo wreckage in the beginning. And if it was the alien from the 1st movie. How is it even there if Ripley blew it out of the airlock?
It was the alien from the first movie. When it was dangling from the roof you saw the grappling hook in its chest. My guess is that it formed a secretion around itself to protect itself while it drifted in vacuum.
Xeno’s are able to form a cocoon provides extended life support wether jn space or on a planet with no food to protect the species from extinction. That’s exactly what it did after she shot it off the airlock.

Im still confused... how did the xenos and facehuggers get to LV-426 and the Nostromo from David at the end of Covenant? Last we were made to believe that David engineered the specimen himself and was jetting through space with a couple of baby facehuggers and a ship with thousands of people in cryo sleep? He was the only one with the aliens and with the knowledge about them. Right?

But decon is probably what engineers call xenomorphs
And the black goo is probably the blood of a xenomorph queen
Possibly the mother xenomorph from the comics
And what ever comes into contact with the pathogen will Iver disintegrate or mutate
Depending on how much is consumed
And the offspring is most likely born from the fact that the employee of the unborn baby was mutated with xenomorph characteristics
