The car is keeping the engine on to bring it up to the operating temperature. Once it’s warmed up, the engine will switch off. It’s a Kia thing.
Oh boy, back to school! Kidding. I go traditional hybrid for sure.
The engine's coming on to assist with power during hard acceleration and then staying on at low RPM to charge the battery.
We know that but other manufacturers allow electric ONLY mode with no gas intervention
I have an Audi 2023 Q3 and not sure about which is best to drive my vehicle in D or S . Please advice.
Great review as usual.
6:56 that is because your battery is not fully charged. If not fully charged, the ICE engine will always come on during acceleration. It may turn off during cruising, depending on your cruising speed.
It’s an engine / oil longevity thing to have the engine stay on for a while to heat it up. What is unusual though is that the engine will kick on to power the batteries and not necessarily the drive wheels when exceeding the capability of the electric motor. When you call for even more power, then the engine will send power to the drive wheels. And you will wait for the engine to do its thing in either of the aforementioned scenarios for a few minutes until it shuts off.
Kia sorrento awesome family suv love it. I don't care what kind of vehicles it's what it is
Awsome vehicle 💜💜
so my new name for the EVs garbage is called a giant remote control car or truck......
who didn't have one as s kid....
Electric range is very disappointing... Kodiaq has twice that much, but then Kodiaq is FWD and that's good for a compact, SUV should have AWD.
BYD Sealion also leaves the electric range in it's dust - rated to 92km (57 miles) pure electric.
This one does have some nicer interior features and practical smarts (ie seat memory and physical buttons for climate control / nav etc).
Is the BYD the same 7-seater class as Kodiaq and Sorento?
You lost me, try next time to get everything check ✅ how it works before doing the review. Other wise very 👍 good
