As far as longevity, I used this on a water bottle and didn't seal it with anything. My kids have put it in the dishwasher at least 20 times and it hasn't moved, peeled, or anything. We always use the hottest water settings and the sanitize setting for reference. This stuff is great!
Hi Betsy, do you put anything over your cup to seal the decal? I made a decal with this same font using 651 but it only lasted on there for about two months before the fine lines started lifting. I only handwashed and honestly avoided rubbing in that area. 🤷♀️ What would you recommend?
Nice tutorial! The vinyl looks beautiful! Was wondering if you could do some videos on the actual cutting of the vinyl with the silhouette? Thank you in advance! Jocelyn
Is your cup textured or smooth? I have the ozark trail cup in that shade that i need to customize for a friend soon and it's textured. Just wondering if regular vinyl will work or if I should use the premium outdoor vinyl from cricut? Thanks! :)
For anyone that may find this comment in the future: go with oracals 651 or higher for this one. A cast film that likes heat and really stick it down well.
Hey Betsy. Hope you are having a great weekend. Have a question about HTV on glass. You did a video on the round glass cutting boards with the regular vinyl for your sister. Can you apply HTV to the back of the cutting board and if so can you tell me how the apply it? Thank you for the videos and keep up the good work.
Ugh I have a question I ordered it off amazon. I just tried to use it with cricut but it cut awful. It was a cursive font but the lines cut super thin it looks nothing like on the design space. Then when I went to weed whatever it gave me it was like it didn’t cut all the way through. Im confused /: lol I’m also really new at all this
I know this is years later, but this vinyl is a beast. My kids have accidentally put the water bottle I used this on in the dishwasher at least 20 times on the hottest settings and it looks the same as when it was first applied. No peeling or anything.
I would've liked a review on what matters. What's the durability of this been like for you? Did it hold up in the sun or other conditions? What was it like when hand cleaning it? A lot of people want to use this film to dress up objects for sale and i can't seem to find anyone anywhere able to testify if it lasts a decent while or if you can only apply it on things that aren't going to be washed.
Teckwrap make this vinyl for wrapping cars so I assume durability against the sun, is fine. But there’s a difference between covering a car and making a decal with fine lines. Would love to know how that cup has held up over time.
@@Razorgirl and as someone who has wrapped cars with teckwrap, it's awful despite their fantastic looking finishes so I'm skeptical this holds up and is why I hope eventually she gets around to responding because on vehicles, it's difficult to get it done right for longevity but you can do things with car edges to help that along. This has none of that xD
@@studiovulcan4411 that’s good to know! She did reply to my recent comment on this vid that she still uses her cup. Lacking detail, but I guess it’s lasted. 🤷🏻♀️
If you buy directly from the company, you get one color per roll and it's 15 feet for $22.50, which is less per foot by far than the Cricut brand. If you want a multipack, Amazon is your better bet, plus it still comes out to be cheaper than the Cricut brand. I prefer TeckWrap Craft vinyl over Cricut for their opals and holographic vinyls because TecWrap is a bit easier to work with (or in the case of the holographic, MUCH easier in my opinion) plus is cheaper overall. Beware that if you order through the company site, there is a shipping fee if your order is under $99 (it was $30 last time I looked), so if you do order from them directly instead of through Amazon, order enough to hit that minimum for free shipping. They ship through DHL from Hong Kong, but shipping is fast. From the time I order to the time it arrives is on average seven days. It has been quicker than that a few times (my last order arrived in five days).

This is a very pretty vinyl. I may need to try this.
On the cups do you put a clear coat over the cup to keep the vinyl from coming off.

@@CuttinCornersVinyl so it lasts wear and tear… good to know. Did you wash your cup by hand or in the dishwasher?

Is the vinyl dishwasher safe?
No vinyl is
Cuttin Corners Vinyl Maybe permanent vinyl is, because what about car decals and rain
What department do you get the alcohol?
Go to the paint section. Its in a metal can near the paint thinners and such.
How did this hold up over time? I'm looking to get it for my glass projects
It’s still on there but we hand wash it
What is the monogram style
monogram kk
Unfortunately the tekwrap brand didn’t work on my Starbucks cups :(
This is from years ago so it may be different now
In the future could you make a video explaining patreon?
Cricut actually has 9 shades
TeckWrap Craft has 13 shades of opal on their site teckwrapcraft.com/collections/opal-vinyl/products/cuttin-vinyl
