Your videos really add to my day! Going COLD TURKEY means going without a video from Chuck. 😜 THANKS for sharing your farming adventures with your UA-cam Family!!! Tim in northern TN.
Love the content, have been a long time fan and watcher of Justin rhodes and his family and what they do on the farm. However I found your channel 6 months ago and find myself prioritizing you guys and the channle a little more. Love any thing regenerative agriculture and am constantly dreaming about leaving my 9-5 and leading your life. Love the numbers and real world breakdown you guys give and just all the facts and pricing for nm inputs and profit.Thank you and keep up the great work.
Congratulations on your beautiful property. Sitting here after work...eating a pumpkin we grew ourselves (in a nice Thai style curry sauce)..watching your video on pasture management. Great stuff!😃🌈🤙
Always nice to see and informative video's!!! Thanks for that! Can you tell me what the music is with your video's? Cause this Dutch guy on his little farm in France surely likes to hear more of that sitting on the veranda in the sun with a beer enjoying farmlife! Keep up making video's like this!
Looks like you have plenty of acreage to work with. The new place looks very nice. Having another tractor will handy too. The color doesn't matter, as long as it works for you. 👍
I love all of your videos. You and Sandra are AWESOME!! Thank you for all the fantastic content. I just want to know...do you have gorgeous green pastures all year round? It's soooo beautiful!!
Yet another great video, Chuck and Saundra. Thank you for continuing to bring the topics we need to learn and grow. You may have gone over it in a past video that I have forgotten but I have a question... I notice you keep the Boar/Sire in with Sows that are gestating and farrowing. When I have tried that, the boar doesn't let the sow feed enough and tries to Hog the food (pun intended lol) - even when feeding at multiple spots in the paddock. Recommendations on how to resolve that issue? THANKS
As I remember, Jordan generally overseeds just before moving the pigs, to allow trampling of the seed. Have you seen any difference between before- versus after-seeding in terms of germination rate, coverage, etc.?
The farm looks great guys! Are coyotes prevalent there? We are also in western NC, close to Johnson City TN, and coyotes are a problem to farmers here. If so, I highly suggest getting some donkeys. We have 3 and they have done an excellent job of deterring coyotes from coming on the property. We bought our property a year ago and before being able to bring all our livestock over, we heard them every night. Since bringing the donkeys we don’t hear them anymore and have only seen one, which was promptly run off by the donkeys
barley does ok in the shade if you're thinking of annuals. I've been doing barley or another small grain, and tall fescue or orchard grass behind the hogs. Really though if you want good grass yields you should cut some trees out. I find the best preforming perennial grasses in shade on our place are the native fescues. I see them in natural clearings in the woods sometimes. I don't plant seed because it's already there. One of my landowners has a farrow to finish operation, and doesn't seed behind his hogs. They tend to stir up native fescue and trefoil.
Chuck, when the pigs farrow do you have problems with coyotes attacking the piglets? And does the premier 1 netting keep the coyotes out? We are just outside of Statesville and there is an abundance of coyotes here.
Shocking that you would wade into the GREEN controversy. I have friends that love GREEN. I resolve the problem by saying GREEN is the best and someday I hope to get one (a little white lie) and everyone is happy.
When you are editing your videos I would presume you have control over sound volume. Why is your voice levels set at 2 and your needless music set at 35? My house is 40 feet long and my wife at 3:00 am is asleep at one end while I am at the other end. If I turn the volume up so I can hear your voice the music blasts all the way into her bedroom like a honky tonk juke box. Of course I am going to get the usual and obvious barrage of suggestions how I might solve your problem on my end. I could get headphones, or sit with my hand on the volume control, or sleep at a different time, or mute the sound and use captions, or the best one last is don't watch your videos (my favorite). But none of that actually answers the question I have, which is; Why do it in the first place? If you feel that music is required in your videos why don't you just sing me a song about pigs when we are looking at pigs. Why not you and your wife work up a little song and dance routine about tractors. Maybe you could do a little rap music for us about baling hay? If you will do that, I promise I will buy a set of headphones and subscribe to your channel. Is it a deal? Art
Thanks Art. Actually I’d suggest you divorce her and buy you your own place where you can watch videos of me and other great UA-camrs in peace. You don’t need all that drama in your life. Thanks for watching.

God bless you guys. Small farms are going to be pivotal in the coming days
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks for watching
I think small farms have and will always be very important!

Looks like everyone is settling in! The place looks beautiful!
You guys bought a very nice piece of property that's for sure, looks like some amazing views.
Thanks. We’ve been blessed beyond measure.
That is some good looking grass you have the turkeys on.
Love seeing you both on the new farm so happy and really enjoying the process of creating your dream homestead. Congrats!

They have been, cover with hay. Will help protect soil, and grow in thicker. Blessings🙂
Thanks. That’s probably what we’ll do.

Hickory Sweet Pork and Beans....
What a beautiful farm! Well done!
Loved seeing the pigs happy eating the nuts.

Yes, those are hickory nuts it will make wonderful for your customers.

Yes those are indeed Hickory Nuts . They are good in cakes too if only you could crack them as easy as the pigs do.
Your new farm looks MARVELOUS!

If you seed prior, the pigs will root and cover most of the seed to deep to germinate???.
Correct those are hickory being so tall and straight. Will really help give that feeder group a nice flavor if they finish on those.
Yep hickory nuts, my 2 gilts love them
Really enjoying your great and interesting videos.

we shoot them, not willing to lose livestock to coiots
Your pigs are looking awesome. New Holland is a good tractor. Maybe seed, and disc lightly where they have
Thanks. Appreciate y’all watching
If you guys ever decide to do a tiny house AirBnB on the farm I'm sure you would have people lining up to come out!!
Thanks. We’ve talked about doing that in the future.
GOD BLESS
Another great video! We’ll keep praying for your tractor! It seems to be feeling very blue 😢. Not my best dad joke sorry 🤪
You boys can’t help yourselves can you? 😆.
how big does a pig have to be before predators like coyotes are no longer a threat?
you will like that new holland better than the other tractor
Thanks. I think so
Set a hammock out… I’ll sleep with the pigs. Nice cool nights beautiful view! Love it guys!
Nice video . What formula feed do you give to these pigs 🐖?
Hi...what size Gallagher charger you using for the pigs? Thanks
Hello great video. How much do yall sell live piglets for. Im looking to get 2 to raise and process for my family.
Do you provide shelter for your momma's? Enjoying your videos thank you
Do you know a grass seed that would grow well if over-seeded behind pigs moving paddocks in woods? Meaning lots of shade. Thank you

@@swamp-yankee thank you for the information. that's good to know
Can you show how you seed the last spot where the pigs was and how it recovered? thanks love this channel......

That is a hickory nut . Acorns are what pig eat that are Black Forest Ham .
I'm farming 200 acres in Kentucky. are you in the Carolinas?
We are. Northwestern NC.
On my farm, My registered Red Wattles are eating black walnuts and hickory nuts right now.
Did you keep the other tractor also ? How is Angel? Todd
Pigs love all types of nuts. World best ham comes from pigs finished on acrons in Spain. There is a huge history behind this!
Cool
Do you plan on raising cows in the future
Yes. We hope to add them next spring.
God bless y’all!!! Are you keeping that blonde boar for breeding?
We are. He’s grown really well and has a good temperament. Think he’ll make a good one.
Yep…those r hickory nuts. I have about a 60-70 ft tree that drops those nuts on my metal roof!
🤣 I’ve wondered what would happen if they started falling on my head. The pigs love them!
😂
Who is the group that is playing the music?
I think it is Nat Keiff and shot Buttered Rum of I remember correct.
