The Lords Of Salem is a masterpiece of a film. The Black Metal parody was hilarious and this song, despite its satirical nature, is actually quite bad ass.
John 5 told me to think of Dark Funeral and Mayhem as an influence for my drum parts. My first drum tracks recorded sounded too clean, so what you hear is raw balls to the wall drumming. I wish Rob would do some more Vox like this! Brutal. #aaronrossidrums
Not to mention Gorgoroth has a song called Ritual and a song called Crushing The Scepter. This reeks of rob zombie listening to one album by Gorgoroth after seeing the Vice documentary and wanting to toy with the concept of black metal and I’m totally fine with that hahaha
excellent piece, displays a lot of old school BM roots. simplistic riffs and simple blastbeat drumming. reminds u of early darkthrone, burzum, ect. nice to see a BM outfit actually revisiting those days.
This song makes me think of Von "Satanic Blood" due to repetition and sound for the most part. But I do enjoy this and wished Rob did do a whole album of this stuff.
@evildead0 Sure, it isn't TRUE black metal, but to be honest it's pretty impressive to say it was written by Marilyn Manson's old guitarist and the guy behind White Zombie. I'd never expect them to make true black metal, but audio wise this does hit most of the stereotypical black metal tropes.
i like this music more than the other "real" black metal bands that i found searching in youtube - dont know too much about black metal but already listened to the classic ones in a quick search anyone have tips about real black metal bands that have a similar sound ? i like this vocals
there is more complexity and skill in the first ten seconds of this song then you will find in anything on the radio today. Except for the few metal stations on Sirius. It may not be the best black metal ever but is still pretty cool. Top notch black metal is bands like Carach Angren, Dimmu Borgir, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Empire, Behemoth. While this doesn't come close to the awesomeness of those bands its still pretty good. You don't have to like it, but it IS music.
I realized that after I read about J5 and Geoffery Lewis being in the band. But that doesn't change the fact that even as a fake Black Metal band for a movie, if Rob was involved, I guess I expected something less generic.
Theres definitely a moment or two when you can tell it's John 5 playing (I guess thats Piggy D on Bass)...I think we can all guess who'd behind the music, but it's fun to believe that Rob found a mysterious black metal band and got them on the soundtrack :)
Rob Zombie parodied old school black metal music. It was only for the Lords of Salem movie and nothing else. He only wrote this one song and did this one video for it.
they are really good, 2 bad i cant find them on spotify they seem pretty underrated, i think they are going to be a famous band in the extreme metal genre robs facebook brought me here :)
I guess it's not supposed to be all that serious, but the thing that really kills the atmosphere in the video is that they filmed it in bright daylight...
+isiah tankersley If you are referring to Jeffrey's Whitehead Leviathan, then no it just an actor from "Lords of Salem", second there is no lead singer in Leviathan as it is just him alone in that project.
Well!.....Rob Zombie did use this video in the movie LORDS OF SALEM, and found out that was Rob himself who did the vocals for the song but in the video it was Torsten Voges who did the gimmicks. The video is shitty, kind of funny but good music. Funny I really like the song despite that it's a parody, and to think there is an actual one man band named LEVIATHAN.
Funny psychopaths! Like the old Gorgoroth! They made their point... Stop being offended! I am a black metal musician and I am not offended. I just don't like the scenery but the song is brutal and venomous enough.
It seems 98% of the commenters on this video have no idea what real black metal is. You think this sounds rough... listen to early Mayhem records. Google info on Varg Vikernes and find out what he's about. Rob actually did decent on the sound of certain black metal styles. The look looks more like immortal or even early dimmu borgir.
Love the song for what it is, even if the video is a little cheesy (supposed to be a "parody" so I'll take it as is! It figures that the band name would be a twisted version of a Bible verse.... I was curious, so I looked it up. Here it is: Isaiah 27:1 (ESV) In that day the LORD with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.
Yeah, that's certainly Piggy on bass! I've seen a still from the movie where the guy on it looks like Piggy, but it'll probably be John as I don't think Piggy's in the movie! I'm going to see it tomorrow so I shall see! :)
The Lords Of Salem is a masterpiece of a film. The Black Metal parody was hilarious and this song, despite its satirical nature, is actually quite bad ass.
I wish Rob Zombie makes a whole album of this. I really like it alot.

You killed it dude! hope you took studio videos! little BTS stuff
Do you know the lyrics?
did you happen to play on the live Count Gorgann EP included with the Lords of Salem soundtrack as well?
i'm a black metal fan, and I enjoyed that, sounds like gorgoroth's song on destroyer.
+666Ekinox My exact thoughts.
Not to mention Gorgoroth has a song called Ritual and a song called Crushing The Scepter. This reeks of rob zombie listening to one album by Gorgoroth after seeing the Vice documentary and wanting to toy with the concept of black metal and I’m totally fine with that hahaha
almost as good as immortal's call of the wintermoon video... almost
A longtime Gorgoroth fan myself, i enjoyed it as well.

If anyone is wondering who the band members are:
Torsten Voges as Count Gorgann
John 5 as Halvard The Guardian
Piggy D as Butcher Olaf
that is really John Malkovich as the lead singer!!! great stuff
Why The Goat?
The Lords of Salem is his masterwork!!!!!
How ironic that an intended parody turned out to be RZ/J5's master opus!
This song makes me think of Von "Satanic Blood" due to repetition and sound for the most part. But I do enjoy this and wished Rob did do a whole album of this stuff.
if you haven't watched the movie this is supposed to be a parody of black metal
Parody isnt right word. It is a good black metal track and video tbh. Parodies are comedic
Awesome he sounds like the Deadra from Skyrim. Thanks to Rob Zombie I have another black metal band to listen to.
i want more of this
Release this whole album!
I started by looking up movie times on fandango, one hour later, i end up here.... How?
offended black metal fans are laughable
Ever wonder why the comment section of every metal song is full stupid hate comments about the band they chose to watch on youtube? I don't get it.
I believe the singer is the singer for the band "The Lords" , I read the book and I won't say more as not to spoil it. :) Can't wait till Friday!!
I just love the bassist's "I'm completely off my fucking tits" expressions :D
@evildead0 Sure, it isn't TRUE black metal, but to be honest it's pretty impressive to say it was written by Marilyn Manson's old guitarist and the guy behind White Zombie. I'd never expect them to make true black metal, but audio wise this does hit most of the stereotypical black metal tropes.
Lords of Salem was a trippy movie, but i loved it!
this was shot in My old neighborhood of cypress park. on lacy street
actually it sounds like a VON - Satanic Blood with a touch of Gorgoroth
This is the best Zombie song in 10 years...seriously.
I know its john 5 on guitar from the tattoo on his ring finger.
Very cool song, black metal as i love it
i'm not understanding whats happening here. Is that Rob Zobmie on vocals covering a Leviathan song? that does not look like Rob
He is apparently doing a full Black Metal album. Read it on Metal Injection.
Watching now on shudder
Glorious
All hail the mighty Goat!
Thats Rob Zombie actually singing. I love it. Make a black metal album Rob!!
John Malcovich?
love the invisible drummer :p
The credits said that Piggy was in the film...I didn't notice him though.
Best Rob Zombie song hands down.
I think my mom lost her virginity listening to that song! lol
You didn't read that. He made this song for his movie. I just came from Metal Injection searching for this because they didnt put up a damn link.
Our Philosophy.....
Yesss I'm glad that stuck out to someone else lol
i like this music more than the other "real" black metal bands that i found searching in youtube - dont know too much about black metal but already listened to the classic ones in a quick search
anyone have tips about real black metal bands that have a similar sound ?
i like this vocals
cauê miranda also check out Leviathan. they're sick.

It's just the band for the movie Lords of Salem man.
They're fairly new. It's the band he created for Lords of Salem.
I realized that after I read about J5 and Geoffery Lewis being in the band. But that doesn't change the fact that even as a fake Black Metal band for a movie, if Rob was involved, I guess I expected something less generic.
Scares the shit out of me!!!!

It's Rob singing
I gotta go to church now God bless this for real dude
You do know this was parody right?
Patrick Robinson parody of what?
Rob Zombie parodied old school black metal music. It was only for the Lords of Salem movie and nothing else. He only wrote this one song and did this one video for it.
Ohh
I watched it on saturday, and I think the part he was credited on was probably when they showed this music video in the movie :P
they are really good, 2 bad i cant find them on spotify they seem pretty underrated, i think they are going to be a famous band in the extreme metal genre robs facebook brought me here :)
to everyone except the most metal of metalheads it's ALL just metal.
I read that John 5 is playing the guitarist in the movie
This is better than anything else Rob Zombie has ever made...
I likes it.
I can´t read all the words in the video!!! Someone could???
Love it!
Why are they in sunlight?
I dig the song, but should I be grinning during this video?
I guess it's not supposed to be all that serious, but the thing that really kills the atmosphere in the video is that they filmed it in bright daylight...
Do these guys only have one song
Is the guitarist in the video John 5?
Lyrics please ?
What don't kill you only make you stronger.
what is he saying i don't know!?*
Why The Goat??
Why not the pig?
Greatest Of All Time.
Am I the only one to actually like this song ?
Julien Audouard Nope!
this is awsome cuz there in the book and movie. great work Zombie!
Fuuuck I dig this haha !! 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼GOAT
Gorgoroth?
i actually really like this. I'm guessing thats rob on the guitar there.
Reminds me of Gorgoroth.
be they the doctors?
Is it bad that I kinda liked it
Well that was something!
Rob zombie your into black metal? Cool.
it's obviously the lead singer of leviathan..
+isiah tankersley If you are referring to Jeffrey's Whitehead Leviathan, then no it just an actor from "Lords of Salem", second there is no lead singer in Leviathan as it is just him alone in that project.

Right this video seems more a parody mock
this is sooo not Geoffrey Lewis! maybe u guys were joking that he was but idk :P
Pop music?
This actually sounds better than a lot of black metal bands lol
Amazing work ! But there´s too much sunlight in the clip.
Hail Leviathan! Rob zombie this is excellent!
Get in me!
those lows don't sound even a little bit real.. the rest of it is awesome though
they're not a real band, it was only for the lords of salem
Love the song for what it is, even if the video is a little cheesy (supposed to be a "parody" so I'll take it as is! It figures that the band name would be a twisted version of a Bible verse.... I was curious, so I looked it up. Here it is:

does anyone know what movie this was for
Chris Brown lords of salem
da fucking real black metal mafia
That was hilarious on so many levels!
well sorry but what is it then?
The main riff is actually really cool.
Yeah, that's certainly Piggy on bass! I've seen a still from the movie where the guy on it looks like Piggy, but it'll probably be John as I don't think Piggy's in the movie! I'm going to see it tomorrow so I shall see! :)
This should be included with the wikidefinition of evil
Darth Vader singing in a black metal band, fuck yes.
Kinda good song honestly. Hate the background setting though, should be woods.
Has such a Cryfemal feel to it and that's a complement. Check them out if you like raw howling black metal.
Burzum vibes
I can only imagine the the hardest part of being in this band is telling your parents you're gay...
SHIT GOES HARD!
Someone heard transilvanian hunger.
Did his sword just wobble at 2:21?
