Dhanpat Rai Shrivastava (31 July 1880 - 8 October 1936), better known by his pen name Munshi Premchand, was an Indian writer famous for his modern Hindi-Urdu literature. He is one of the most celebrated writers of the Indian subcontinent, and is regarded as one of the foremost Hindi writers of the early twentieth century. He began writing under the pen name "Nawab Rai", but subsequently switched to "Premchand". A novel writer, story writer and dramatist, he has been referred to as the "Upanyas Samrat" ("Emperor among Novelists") by writers.

I love you. कहना, बार बार दोहराना प्रेम नहीं होता है बल्कि जताने का दंभ भरना मात्र होता है| कहानी मे जो प्रेम चित्रित की गई है अलौकिक है अतुलनीय है हमें संदेह है कि कोई और उदाहरण इसके समकक्ष हो सकता है | कहानीकार श्री प्रेमचन्द जी ने कहानी में प्रेम को परिभाषित करने में कोई भी कसर ना छोड़ी है|
