Thanks for this. I know my customer's kids. I babysit the little stinkers and I know her little girl filled that bad boy right up. It sounded like a piggy bank when I shook it. I found a used radio before I even removed it AFTER watching this video. I'm guessing $6.78 in change in mine and I'm not joking. Hardest part was removing the antenna plug (regular pliers squeezed gently and pull). You do have to use a small screwdriver to push in the "trigger" release as noted in the video. $85 at LKQ for the whole control pod. Plug and play. No re-flashing. No factory codes. The radio/CD/cassette head units are so cheap used they are almost not worth messing with. Just get one with a 30-90 day guarantee. Before you buy it, shake it and listen. Don't buy one with money in it. lol You can buy one with money in it if you just want something that will bridge the time gap to send your original off to our video host here for repair given the cars wont start without a radio in them. Would be nice to know what the refurbish process is when you send it into Factory Car Stereo Repair. They may do stuff that we don't know about that would provide lots of value.
I have the same issue and I was going to send you my stereo. I was able to remove the stereo using your directions, thanks. However, the car wont start without the stereo! Not using the car for 7-10 days is not an option. I will use the dealer's exchange - $350 for a refurb unit with a 12 month warranty. Apparently Nissan has been working with Bose and Clarion to refurb units as they have had many of these come through. A new unit is $1,500! The 75 cents my son dropped just cost be a bundle!
Want to instal an FM band expander for Japanese import Murani. Hust found your video, absolutetly brilliant. Should be a lot easier to do now! Many thanks!
So did everything you showed still does it. Did notice that there is a cord that is missing from the back. Only have 6 on the back and can’t figure out we’re the other one is at.
hello. good video. do you know what is the problem in the stereo. everytime I puy more volume gets distortion. like the speakers are blown. I thought it was the speakers. so I tried with 2 and sounds horrible. so I guess and I'm sure the problem is not the speakers. what do you think it is.
if i want to change this stereo with a simple front arnes and place a dvd with a screen to watch videos, what do i have to do? i hope i am clear to explain my dude
Friend of mine has this system in her car only when playing a cd does this happen audio cuts out on one side of the car but if she changes to radio sound is restored it the cd player that if faulty is my guess please help
All I had to do was to shake the stereo a few times. Tape opening facing down. Turns out the stereo was fried. I used a remanufactured unit for $350 from the dealer.
The issues I hve is once I want to rejected the cd star doing a cracking noise and the cd wont come out plz help got tired of radio stations im about to buy one on ebay 2005 murano
Great Video guys - is there a way I can disconnect my CD Player ONLY, from my 2006 Murano Bose Stereo? Is there a white plug at the rear of the Stereo system which will disable the CD stacker. Reason being, my Murano stereo overheated last summer and the CD's are stuck in it permanently. When I start the car, every time the Stereo has a loud Ggggrrrr sounds which goes off four times, then stops... as if it is trying to mount a CD, but of course they are all stuck... I'd rather just disconnect the CD Player, so then when I start the car it shouldn't make those 4 sounds every time! Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively, I can just take out the entire unit, mail it to you guys and get you to do the repair as there seems to be no one in Australia who offers such a repair job. Thanks, Dave, Melbourne, Australia.
+Gregory Breton Yes, you can there are a few different mods you can do/use to add a "line in" some plug and play, some require a little bit more skill for more info "data.medics.NYC@gmail.com"
my radio is playing and the mechanic from Nissan is telling I need a new antenna. HE SAID I NEED TO PAY $260 FOR A NEW ANTENNA , DOES THAT SOUNDS RT . HELP ME ANYBODY
Get in there, remove the stereo, open it and clean with Alcohol, but carefully and careful with the wires. Because liquid contacts metal parts it can short the stereo and no more sound.

Remove the cover and shake them out. If there is any damage to the stereo because of the coins, it has already been done...
